The room was small. A small double bed. Suddenly the 2 key cards didn't work. They did not fix the room and after we asked they fixed only parts of it. We didn't freshen up the coffee corner and didn't worry about refilling hand soap.

Stayed just for one night while we were in the area for a retirement party. I'd stay here again.Check in was easy. We showed up a little after 3pm and didn't have any issues getting a room assigned to us. The entrance to the parking lot is a little bit past the hotel itself, you'll take a left. FYI, If you take a left before the hotel, that parking lot to the left of the hotel is not their lot. There's clear signage that's posted, but it's a little hidden until you're already in the lot.The hotel offers turn down service, which includes a rose and chocolate. The bed was comfortable and the room was pretty spacious. They provided two complementary bottles of water. There was also shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion.Breakfast was included. There were the standard items - coffee/tea/juice, hardboiled egg's, toast, fruit salad, yogurt, bananas, apples, oranges, and mini pieces of quiche. Decent. We actually ate more than we anticipated and didn't make a second stop at a local restaurant for more breakfast options.

Superior service. The 3rd party I used to book a room cancelled my reservation without ever telling me so when I arrived at the hotel there were no vacancies. Without any obligation to help me, Lancaster Arts Hotel found accommodations for me at a comparable hotel nearby, covered the hotel cost, and even helped me get a refund from the 3rd party booking company! They will absolutely be my first choice next time I'm in Lancaster!

True to its name, the Lancaster Arts Hotel has the work of local artists throughout the lobby, hallways and guest rooms. There is even a sketchbook in the room to inspire your inner artist. This boutique hotel has exposed brick, revealing its former incarnation as a tobacco warehouse. The room is spacious and the bed is very comfortable. Breakfast is included. I greatly appreciated the free covered parking, considering how hot it was when I visited Lancaster. Good restaurants are within walking distance from the hotel (see my review of Sukhothai).

Upon arrival one would think they are in a sketchy part of town. After being lucky enough to find a parking spot in the tiny garage, my expectations were instantly lifted once we entered the building. Not only visually appealing but also had a very pleasing aroma. There is plenty of artwork from local artists on all the walls to match the modern look of furniture and random metal doors and brick archways.Bed was very comfortable with the exception of these random metal rods sticking out of the frame. Careful not to stub your foot.Overall pleasant. We ordered DoorDash for dinner and the front desk attendant brought it to our room. Great and friendly service

My wife and I were looking for a place to go for a one night stay just get away for a bit. We Googled this place and it had great reviews and the pictures made the place look great.Upon arrival it was a little confusing to find the parking. They have their own covered parking area and then share some outdoor parking spots with local businesses right next door.Walking into the building, it looks so cool. It’s an older building with a modern touch. Much of the building, including the room has bare brick walls. There is art around the building that is hung and listed for sale which adds to the awesome look of the place. The staff were nice and professional. We stayed in room 505, which had a king bed, full bathroom with walk-in shower, whirlpool tub, closest, two chests, two night stands, desk and TV. The room had a cool factory like look to it with one wall of bare red brick and you could see some wood beams and piping. (We were close to the elevator and could hear it through the wall). They leave a note pad for you to draw and leave. When you’re in the elevator you can see the artwork that people left behind hung there. So the initial impressions of the room were great.Prior to going out to dinner we decided to use the whirlpool tub and it was super comfortable and relaxing. We then decided to get around for dinner that we were having at a different location. (That being said their restaurant looked amazing from the outside but since we were only staying 1 night we decided to try dinner elsewhere). As the whirlpool tub was draining we could hear the toilet making a burbling sound. My wife and I just laughed and said that is kind of gross but we just continued to get ourselves ready for dinner. All of a sudden there was a terrible smell filling the room that was coming from the bathroom. I went into the bathroom and what appears to have happened is the way they did the plumping in the room, the burbling sound was the water from the toilet being drained as the tub was draining. So I looked in the toilet and there was no water in it and it smelled like sewer gas was coming from it. It is my understanding that water needs to stay in the “S” pipe in order to seal gasses out and keep odors from coming back through. I flushed the toilet a few times and the toilet and piping underneath filled back up with water. Since we were basically ready to head out for our dinner reservations we didn’t say anything, took off for dinner and hoped that the smell would clear out by the time we came back. When we came back the smell was gone so we went on with enjoying our stay without contacting staff. The whirlpool tub was used again and the burbling sound happened again but I just kept flushing the toilet as the water was draining to keep the odor from coming back. Another issue with the room was the mini refrigerator didn’t work. Later on in the night the toilet was used and then we heard burbling again, but this time it was from the whirlpool tub drain. Which then made us disgusted that maybe gross stuff was coming up from the drain and we were sitting in it.One other thing was the room didn’t seem all that clean. Twice while in common areas in the room we put our hands in spider webs and killed several spiders in our 1 night two day stay there. And lastly their included breakfast was worse than what I’ve had at much cheaper places. When we checked out we were still trying to remain in good spirits about the room and our time there so we did mention it to the desk clerk but didn’t make it a big deal. She informed us that this issue with the drain and smell has happened in the past and that engineer and plumber was supposed to have fixed the issue. She offered us a bottle of wine for the inconvenience of the smell and the refrigerator not working but we declined. She took our phone number and said that someone would be in touch with us. It has now been over a week since our stay there and no one has contacted us. We expected way better for the price.

Scott and Diane are amazing hosts and the house is stunning! Breakfast was phenomenal and original! We stayed in the Whitman room and it was immaculate and spacious. Location was great, just minutes to so many places and even though the B&B is on Lititz Pike you would never know it once you step inside or sit in the garden. Oh the garden! Beautifully landscaped and manicured with multiple sitting areas including a patio next to the koi pond and fountain. Beautiful to sit and relax day or night. Parking was great, access in and out was easy and we can’t wait to go back.

August 2024, our third visit to EJ Bowman House B&B. Review of Bowman B&B, Neffsville, PAOur recent stay at the Bowman B&B was nothing short of delightful. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the hosts, Scott and Diane, whose hospitality truly made us feel at home. The historic charm of the 1860 Italianate house, combined with modern amenities, provided a perfect blend of comfort and elegance.Accommodation: We stayed in the Bowman Suite, which was spacious and beautifully decorated. The room featured a comfortable bed, and a luxurious bathroom with heated tile flooring. The attention to detail in the room’s decor and amenities was impressive, making our stay incredibly comfortable. This third floor Suite also offers a deck to that early morning coffee and a view over the garden.Breakfast: The breakfast each morning was a highlight of our stay. Scott and Diane served a delicious full English breakfast, with a variety of options to cater to different dietary needs. The food was not only tasty but also beautifully presented, adding a touch of elegance to our mornings. Don't expect the same every morning, we were never disappointed by the fare they served. I especially liked their breakfast motto, "life is short, eat dessert first."Amenities: The B&B offers several thoughtful amenities, including free WiFi, a snack bar, and a lovely garden where we enjoyed some peaceful moments. We even invited some friends to join us in the garden for a get-together. The shared lounge area was also a great place to relax and meet other guests. My favorite spot is the side porch with the rocking chairs early in the morning with the sun peeking up over the town.Location: Located in the heart of Lancaster County, the B&B is conveniently close to many attractions, including Amish Country, Sight and Sound Theater, Roots Auction, Green Dragon Auction, a walkable downtown, lots of Brew Pubs, the Lancaster Central Market, and Landis Vally Museum. This made it easy for us to explore the area and enjoy the local culture.Overall Experience: Our stay at Bowman B&B was truly memorable. The combination of historic charm, modern comforts, and exceptional hospitality made it a perfect getaway. We highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in Neffsville, PA.7/30/22 First night. Beautifully decorated. Amenities superb. Some nostalgia associated with it for me. Grew up quarter mile from here. Familiar with the building long before it was a b&b.

From check in to check out this place was absolutely delightful. I was in town for a night and the hosts were welcoming and personable. I opted for a late night hot chocolate and snuggled in with a good book on the most comfortable recliner in the library. The sheets were like literal butter and the water hot in the shower. This house is full of amazing decor around every corner. The breakfast in the morning was well thought out and the conversation was a nice added touch. Five bright stars all around. Will definitely be back!!
