Very polite and accommodating staff. Building is historic, but well renovated with modern amenities such as WiFi and off-street parking. Guests get breakfast served daily, and there is self-serve tea and coffee at all hours. Would definitely stay again!

My husband and I came to Akwaaba Philly for the first time Labor Day weekend to celebrate our anniversary. We took the Amtrak train which was a quick 1hr ride from Baltimore. Additionally, it was a quick 10 minute Uber ride to the B&B. The place was so quaint with so much charm and character. The inn keeper La Joya took such good care of us the entire weekend. Our daily breakfast was delicious! Every day we got a different option which was wonderful. We stayed in the Blue Note because our 1st choice was not available. The room was nice and suites our needs. I do think there could have been more decor related to Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes though.Lastly, the location was perfect as we were able to walk to a lot of the attractions we were interested in.We will definitely be back!

This was our first time to the Akwaaba Philadelphia location, second visit at an Akwaaba property. The house is nestled in the Drexel University area. Access to the happenings, but the street where the house is located was quiet. We felt like there was plenty of street parking over the weekend. The level of hospitality at the Akwaaba properties it TOP NOTCH. Rafyah was our innkeeper and she insisted on taking care of us and it was noticed and appreciated. Taking our bags, providing a brief tour and overview of the inn, and even refreshment. The breakfasts were simply DELICIOUS!!! There's a lovely porch to hangout on, where we chose to sit and sip wine one night. We appreciated the little touches and items offered to keep guests comfortable. There was a library of books, games, snacks, restaurant recommendations and even the ingredients to make s'more outside. Bed was comfortable, rooms are clean, water pressure good and we even enjoyed the cable TV.I would absolutely recommend this B&B to anyone visiting the are.

Mark was a most gracious host. The room itself was comfortable and quiet, but the highlight was the excellent breakfast. He is a great baker and it was worth waking up early to grab some wonderful pastries!

I found the Manayunk Chambers Guest House while looking for a place I could stay after a concert at the Mann Center. I called Mark on the phone and he graciously answered all of my questions. I made the reservation and am thrilled that I did; the building itself (an ornately decorated Victorian) is beautiful and Mark has thought of everything to make his guests comfortable and happy. He provides nutritious snacks and drinks for consumption while hanging out in the parlor. The beds are luxurious. Mark not only makes pastries for breakfast (he was a baker for 25 years), but also parfaits with homemade granola topping. Our whole stay was fantastic and we have nothing but great things to say. We will definitely be back.

I chose to stay here based largely on the positive reviews. The actual stay exceeded these high expectations. The food and room were wonderful, but the reason to go back is to experience Mark's unparalleled hospitality. This place is special.

When we were planning our trip to Manayunk, we searched for a less expensive and more personal alternative to a hotel, and we were very pleased with this guest house. Our room was comfortable, attractive and quiet. The guest house is within walking distance to many good restaurants, which is advantageous since parking is difficult. Breakfast was included and consisted of a lovely presentation of fresh fruit, yogurt and a basket of delicious breads. Our host was attentive and helpful with recommendations on restaurants and things to do. We appreciated the variety of snacks and drinks at our disposal. We would definitely recommend this place to our friends and hope to return.

Thank you, Mark and Manayunk Chambers Guest House. We had a fabulous weekend.  We were busy with two graduations in the area, and it was wonderful to have such a lovely and welcoming home base to gather in between events.  The house is so charming, decorated beautifully, and loaded with amenities.  The location is very convenient to the surrounding areas and walking to the main street.  And we can’t say enough about the delicious breakfasts!  Thank you for making our weekend extra special.

Mark was a fantastic host and his home is very beautiful and comfortable. His breakfast was our favorite at any B&B and was memorable and delicious. We got some ideas for recipes at home. He was very attentive to all our needs and very generous. We will come back and stay here again!

We had a great stay at the Manayunk Chambers Guest House. The host, Mark, greeted us and showed us the parlor with all the amenities available: coffee, cold drinks, wine, snacks and array of books and quiet piano music to enjoy any time of day or night. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated in Victorian fashion. My room (Garden Suite) had a very nice bathroom as well. Breakfast was fantastic and included fresh pastries and bread, toasted granola, fresh fruit and juice with a little different twist every day. As a vegan, Mark accommodated me with plant based butter, soy yogurt and vegan smoothies in the mini-fridge! I would recommend this place highly and will definitely be staying there again when I visit my family in Manayunk.
