This hotel is a small green oasis in the midst of a packed metro area. It's an incredibly convenient location if you desire spending time by the water with walkable food and drink options to suit every palate. The first things you notice upon entry are the lush greenery and the herbaceous signature scent. This hotel is for anyone who wants a luxury experience that won't absolutely ruin their budget. Bayview King rooms are spacious and include humongous rainfall showers and luxurious amenities like full-size bath products, robes, slippers, and yoga mats. The view of the Bay Bridge is exceptional day and night.Terrene is full of nutritious options that are also incredibly delicious. After dinner, we took some air on the 7th floor terrace by our room and enjoyed the 4th of July fireworks without the fuss of dealing with the wharf traffic.Bamford Spa is a must if you want ultimate relaxation. I recommend adding the Foot Reviver service if your trip includes a lot of walking. I did not take advantage of the soaking tubs, but I am sure it's a worthy add-on!Staff is incredible. We were permitted early check-in with no fuss. Doors held open, amenities like toothpaste and extra pillows available upon request, quick valet service. This was my first vacation in well over a year, and the team helped make it incredibly special. I can't wait to come back.

Its location is actually incredible, on the waterfront near the bay bridge, directly across from the Ferry building and thus right near acclaimed restaurants and attractions, and a simple walk outside feels like a luxury. Rooms feature tasteful and modernistic wood and stone furnishings, feeling spacious with a sense of feng shui, though a bit low on natural light. That said, the Waterfront rooms in particular have excellent views of the bay, the bridge, and the Ferry building, and I could’ve stared out the window all day if I felt so inclined. The service and staff were attentive and welcoming. The hotel’s own restaurant and room service menu is minimalistic compared to similar venues in its class, light on savory fare while emphasizing fruits and greens, but the dishes it does have are thoughtfully crafted with fresh, quality ingredients; I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed a yogurt parfait quite that much.If the mood strikes you to hit up the Ferry Building Farmer’s Market on a Saturday morning, maybe with a trip to the esteemed Angler for lunch afterwards (if you haven’t already had your fill of market stall oysters or empanadas at the market) you can’t go wrong booking a stay here the night before. If only more rooms had soaking tubs…

Excellent people, excellent hotel. Staff were extremely nice and professional, much more welcoming and friendly than at most hotels. Even better than other 1 Hotel locations too. Very happy with my stay, room was great, nice and quiet. Everything very clean. Highly recommend this hotel.

We overall had a great time. Location is excellent. Love the emphasis on being green and sustainable. Hotel lobby smells great and staff are overall quite considerate. Used the capital one premier collection and felt it’s great value. We appreciate the audi drop off service (2 miles). Electric bike rental allowed us to ride to fort mason which was fun. Very pet friendly (entire hotel including Terrene is pet friendly indoor)(& no extra pet fee). Areas to improve: noise (thin wall, to a point we are able to hear neighbors rolling up the shade so we had to whisper in the room). The pet bed provided is not of a shape good for a dog to sleep on so please bring your own dog bed. The peloton bike in the fitness center needs you to create your own account so it takes work for guests to enjoy (hope they just stay logged on with a hotel account). Fruit stand carries a very limited supply of oranges and is mostly only carrying mediocre quality apples. Overall, this feels like a 4 star hotel as other people pointed out, but priced as a 5 star hotel. Either the price should be lowered or service and perks need to improve.

Perfect hotel location. The team was very friendly and the service was great. The rooms are spacious and the view is stunning. In the hotel, the atmosphere is a resort atmosphere- like on an island, but in the heart of the city. Great city break option. The breakfast was great and the options were all delicious.

This hotel blew my mind and far exceeded my expectations! To start, our flight landed super early and we went straight to the hotel to drop off our bags, they were more than accommodating for that and our early check in. I was so impressed with the beauty and smell of the lobby, it’s the type of luxury experience I always hope to have when I am traveling. Our room was without a doubt my absolute favorite hotel room I’ve ever stayed in, with aspirational furniture/decor, gorgeous bathroom, and even a balcony over looking sky scrapers with a glimpse of the bay. The small details really stood out as well, including the recess lighting throughout the room, and the luxurious soaps/lotion in the bathroom. 10/10 when hotels provide actual hand soap and not just a bar of soap. I’m not kidding when I say that I actually did not want to leave this hotel. We had an action packed few days in SF but I wish we had a day to just enjoy the room and hotel amenities more. I will absolutely be returning the next time I visit!

We were big fans of the old Le Meridian, the new staff to The Jay needs a bit more refinement, specifically front desk and restaurant (they need to be more attentive, welcoming, and happy to assist). That aside, the new rooms are beautiful, beds are incredibly comfortable and we still love the restaurant, and now its outdoors lounge. You just cant beat this hotel’s location in the City. It’s perfect, it’s safe, walkable, and close to some of the best things the City has to offer. It just doesn’t disappoint and we love it.

Wanted to love this hotel—great location, great comfortable rooms, one of the comfiest hotel beds I’ve ever slept in, but they played LOUD music in the 3rd floor lounge all weekend long from mid afternoon till 10. No mention when we showed up. I thought it would be over after the first day but it appears the party is lasting all weekend. I like to go to bed early and spend time in my room throughout the day—that wasn’t possible here without having to endure pounding music that seemed to get louder and louder all day long. I think this is a really nice hotel but for some reason they decided the comfort of their guests was less important than bringing in tons of people for parties all weekend long. Very disappointed.

Great hotel, location and service!Alfonso was the absolute best, so professional and helpful- he really made our stay even more enjoyable! The room was beautiful, it had a balcony with a table and two chairs + a lounge chair - perfect to enjoy a sunny breakfast in the morning.Location is close to San Francisco main attractions, you can pretty much walk anywhere and it did feel like a safe area! Will definitely be back!

The rooms not the biggest but they are very well designed and appointed; thought went into this hotel. The staff is also excellent and service is fantastic. As a frequent traveler it is wonderful to find a hotel that still understands hospitality. Alfonso at the front desk was so helpful. I look forward to staying again.

We had an overall pleasant experience at the Jay. The room was beautiful and cozy, and the location was great for us to explore little Italy and china town nearby. The food and the service were underwhelming at the breakfast. We were seated and left alone without menu or explanation for over 15 minutes. It was difficult to get attention any of the servers when we sat far away but seemed like they would not pay attention to you if they were not assigned to your table. We attempted to get servers’ attention but without luck. It made us very uncomfortable. For those with Marriott status, we would get complementary breakfast set and coffee/drinks, usually about $25 in value. At the Jay, we got a large croissant, butter, fruit jam, yogurt, and a small bowl of assorted fruits. Not a hot breakfast you would expect, and felt more like snacks. We had to order eggs as extra and paid additional $8. Not bad, but not great either.Secondly, we really wanted to check out the bar for our special occasion but they had a private event and the bar closed early. We wish we were told of this during the check-in so we could make other arrangements.
