Don't bother with this hotel. It's "5 star" but we're still sitting here waiting for our room, 2 hours after check-in. Pretty wildly bad experience so far!Update: We got our room! Aaaaaand the fridge is broken 😂 This is worse than a motel.

Came for the Cherry Blossom Afternoon Tea. Very disappointed. Took an hour to get our food. The waitress was m.i.a. for most of the time. The savory bites were all stale and the tea was served lukewarm. On the plus side, the atmosphere was fantastic-decor, harp player, etc.

I had an issue with booking my room where I was totally at fault, but the hotel staff were so kind and accommodating the whole time. The hotel was so lovely and they brought my bags up to my room. The bath and the room itself were all clean and better than expected. They even came around before bed and gave us more Evian water and chocolates. The only thing that would've made it the best hotel ever were comfier pillows! 😂

Hilton diamond member. Stayed one night here at the Waldorf Astoria and was upgraded to a junior suite. The hotel itself was in a great location in the old post office pavilion. Atrium was really beautiful. Hotel overall appears to be well kept. Room was spacious, clean, orderly, and very ornate but with some pros and cons. Window shades were motorized which was nice. The seating room was very very cold. You could feel a draft coming in from outside. Some of the room designs are a bit too gaudy for me, especially the chandeliers and wall sconces in the rooms. It's also unclear what all the light switches on the walls are for and it appeared that if the chandelier switch wasn't on none of the other light switches would work. We guessed that this switch was the master light which didn't make sense, but dimming lamps were available in the room and those were nice to have. Bathroom toiletries were high quality and smelled great, and the bathroom was light and bright. Shower was also really enjoyable. Bedding was soft but pillows were too thin and made for a bit of an uncomfortable nights sleep for us which was unfortunate. Service overall we felt was very good, but there were a few items to note. The doormen were never present to open the doors for us which we thought was odd. Also, at check in the desk agent gave us room options and said we could view the rooms. He took us to a room that he said was unoccupied and available for us but soon we realized it wasn't which was a bit embarrassing. The desk agent did give us a complimentary bottle of champagne however to make up for that situation so that was great. Room service menu prices are a bit excessive but it's not surprising overall for a Waldorf Astoria. In the end, it was a decent experience but I would probably elect to try another property in the area if given the opportunity.

We had a fantastic stay at the Waldorf Astoria DC. The service was excellent across the board. We had a nice meal, the restaurants had great food and atmosphere but were busy so I recommend making reservations in advance of your stay. We received a one category room upgrade, a late check-out, and our food and beverage credit was automatically applied to our dinner. We also each received a glass of champagne while we waited for our room to be ready, which was a great way to enjoy the lobby and start our stay.

We had a great stay at the InterContinental Washington DC Wharf in September 2024. The staff were welcoming, particularly, Kitana, the accommodations were top-notch and the views are incredible. We look forward to our next visit.

This is our favorite place to stay when we are visiting D. C.! The view of the Potomac is so beautiful. This time we got a full balcony room. It has a small table and chairs so we sat outside to eat and relax and people watch. The room is also very clean and extremely comfortable. My favorite part of this hotel, however, is the hospitality. From valet, to bellman, to front desk, to restaurant host, you will get friendly and professional service. Our bellman, Baraki, went out of his way to help us with our luggage. He was so friendly and made sure everything was just right. And, Andrea at the front desk was amazing! She also went above and beyond to make sure we got our evening coffee and everything else we asked for. I highly recommend the Intercontinental at The Wharf!

Stayed three nights for a family vacation. The hotel was fantastic. Room is well laid out, quiet and comfortable. Enjoyed the balcony and views. We used the pool and the gym, great facilities. Cannot beat the location, pedestrian only streets with lots of restaurants. The best part was the front desk service- a cherished baby blanket was accidentally taken by housekeeping and the front desk made sure that we got it back before we checked out. Thanks for a great stay!

Stayed here recently for 4 nights for a conference and have nothing but great things to say. Excellent experience from start to finish. The hotel staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful. The Wharf district is filled with lovely views of the river and plenty of restaurants. An added plus, if you arrive early or your flight is well beyond check out, they offer luggage storage at the concierge desk (super convenient)!

I could not have loved this hotel and location more. Outstanding. Highly recommend. The wharf is fabulous. Check the concert schedule, as it would be a great place to stay after a concert at The Wharf (2 music venues here). My room was wonderful and the water views outstanding. Rooftop pool gorgeous. They have a pool bar but it wasn’t staffed when I went up there. Maybe because it was a weekday? There was a phone to call up an order but it was room service so then you have all of the fees etc.

An absolutely amazing stay! The beautiful waterfront views were mesmerizing, and watching planes take off and land added a unique touch to the experience. The private balcony was perfect for enjoying the scenery in peace. The rooftop pool was the cherry on top—relaxing and offering even more stunning views. The convenience of having restaurants close by made dining easy, and it was just a short drive or 20-30 minute walk to the monuments and museums, which made exploring the city a breeze. Highly recommend this hotel for a truly unforgettable stay!

Stayed two nights using two rooms with family. Hotel reached out and upon check-in there was fruit basket and candies for our kid. Also provided room with nice view of marina. Modern and sophisticated look. Attentive staff who knew how the place was run and wanted to please if possible. Rooms well maintained and well stock with small amenities (good light placement, restocked essentials, smartly placed furniture). Friendly bartenders. TV casting worked seamlessly. Rooftop pool is a little shallow but was not crowded and had good temperature. Location is in the heart of the wharf and just 15-30 minute walk to any point on National Mall. Wharf is touristy but has some substance and offers something for everyone (families, partyers).
