The manager David and the hotel get 5 stars ... But one star for the horrible experience we had in the store.. we got hood winked by the blue green resort people selling vacation packages ... We signed on before we looked at all the better business complaints...... There are hundreds of people that said they had the same horrible experience we had... The blue green sales people say all sorts of things that just are not true they promised us a three night stay in a two bedroom cabin only at the last minute... once we had driven across the country... to try and change it ... I spent over three hours in phone calls before calling it quits ... They promised a refund but that too was a mess... I'll update if/ when it resolves

We have traveled across the country and this is BY FAR one of the BEST places we've ever stayed at! This is an entirely different experience from anything we've ever done before. We cannot wait to come here again. It's pretty pricey, but sooo worth it! The city it's located in is pretty crumby, but the place itself is FANTASTIC! Do yourself a favor and make this place a bucket list item and save your pennies and spend a few nights here!!!!

We thought our stay was going to be great after checking in and seeing how beautiful everything was. Unfortunately, the reality turned out to be different. First off we needed our date of stay to be changed & after a 2 hr back & forth between the hotel & Expedia NO ONE was willing to help us. After a 7 hr drive we made it to the hotel to discover there was no couch. The host at the front desk apologized & advised they would bring up a roll away bed (no mention of a fee). While my husband and son walked the store, I decided to take a bath in the jetted tub. While relaxing my knee accidentally hit the button to turn on the jets. The jets then blasted a ton of mold and God knows what else into the bath water! COMPLETELY DISGUSTING. I immediately got out & had to take a shower. After that, while we were all trying to sleep, the jets for the tub kept coming on and off all night. Finally my husband called the front desk and went down stairs to address the issue. By this time it was 6am. The host at the desk was completely grossed out, comped my husband breakfast coupons, advised it was the least they could do. Stated she was really sorry & that she would make notes & speak to her manager as soon as she got in.By 7am we were packed and ready to leave, but we had the "free" breakast coupon so we ate before checking out. Once in the breakfast room we noticed a sign that says $24.00 per person. We were SHOCKED. It was the exact same breakfast you get at other hotels included in your stay! The food was already cold & not anything you would pay $24.00 a person for. After breakfast we checked out. Upon check out we again spoke with the ladies at the front desk about the mold in the tub, it not shutting off all night & the broken toilet. The manager on duty joined the conversation & advised she would issue us a refund for $140.00. We stated that was very nice of her, thanked her for her time & left. The following day we noticed our bank account had been charged $117.60 from the hotel. I called and they advised it was for breakfast, which was supposed to be free, a roll away bed that no one told us we had to pay for, and an additional resort fee that was supposed to have already been included in the amount shown on our receipt we have from Expedia. The following day the $140.00, from the manager, was deposited to our account only to be reversed back out the same day that I called to question them on the $117.60 worth of extra charges. I called again today and the issues still are not being resolved. Needless to say I will never recommend staying here to anyone, which is very unfortunate considering how beautiful they made it.

The place is pretty neat, we stayed in the Governor Suite but one of the showers wouldn’t get hot water. There was dog poop right in front of our door the next morning. And the fact that you have to pay $25 for breakfast (each person) doesn’t seem right after paying $1,500 for staying ONE night. The fact that “Motel 6” has free breakfast but this place doesn’t just didn’t seem right😂

This review comes from someone that LOVES the Johnny Morris brand and has stayed multiple times at Top of the Rock, Cypress, etc. We live in Missouri and have seen the amazing things Johnny has done for our state conservation program and land management. We have stayed at Cypress several times over the years and one of the things that has always impressed us at any J. Morris property is the level of service and great attitudes and friendliness of the staff. For some reason, at Cypress we have noticed the past couple times, it has done a 180.First of all, I never liked that this hotel requires a $20 parking fee that is not disclosed in the reservation. I understand it is Memphis and security is necessary, but it should be included or disclosed in the reservation.Although the experience started in the lobby, our experience at the bar and in the restaurant were surprising. The hostess station for some reason seemed confused and unsure of how to handle incoming guests. The bartenders although working hard gave off a vibe that they did not want to be there. The Old Fashions, I believe are $18 and are served with maraschino cherries which I guess can be debated, but the biggest takeaway was the Rest. Manager. She walked around the restaurant all night. Our reservation was 10 minutes late or so, no big deal - but every time she walked directly by us she avoided any interaction. Never once smiled, greeted a customer and did not make us comfortable as guests. Our waitress did a great job, but some of my ribs were hot and some were cold. In the morning walking around for coffee even the cleaning staff were unfriendly.I love staying in the cabins and the entire experience at Cypress. But, we really did feel like the staff although not rude, definitely did not make us feel welcome. I hope this trend can be turned around. If you made it all the way through that - I want you to know this lodge is truly an amazing experience. But, you will be paying several hundred a night for a room and dinner is not cheap. Nothing is cheap. But, there is a reason J. Morris' properties can charge a lot - the experience. So, I hope that experience returns to where it used to be and matches the other Bass Pro Properties once again.

This is one of the most unique hotels I've stayed at. It is intriguing and cool, the first night. Once the novelty is gone, you realize you are overpaying for a room and amenities overlooking a fancy mall. The property is worth visiting and the view from the top after a freestanding elevator ride is cool, but could be had for $8. I enjoyed the experience with my son but wouldn't choose it again.

I decided to take a road trip to Memphis and spend a few nights at Big Cypress Lodge to celebrate my birthday. I chose a premium room which was really nice! I have no complaints about the room. However, the food and service is below standard. Food and service are vital for my overall experience so I will have to deduct more stars because of it. The prices in the restaurants are overpriced while the food is terrible. I ended up throwing away food due to the taste. Why does a milkshake cost ten dollars? Thankfully, they were out of milkshakes so I drove to the nearest fast food chain to purchase one for more than half the cost. When I went for breakfast, they were out of pancakes and cereal. Although I really liked the accommodations, I won’t stay here again because of the food and service. My family and I utilized the complimentary shuttle to go eat downtown. When we requested the shuttle to be picked back up from the restaurant, Jeffery called my cell phone and stated that he would be on his way to pick us up in twelve minutes and then go on his lunch break. He then canceled the request in the app. We waited an additional thirty minutes because he said he was on his way. He didn’t show up so I called an Uber instead. When we saw him the next day, he pretended to have amnesia and wouldn’t admit to what he had done. After I checked out, I noticed on my bill that they charged me four separate pet fees when I should have only had one charge since the pet fee is per stay and not per night. I also had one pet. I called and was told it will be taken care of. I will be checking my account in a few days to verify that the additional charges were reversed. I would recommend checking your invoice prior to leaving to be sure you don’t have any unexpected overcharges.

The views are amazing, really cool place, just very outdated, and not very well kept up. Room was old and dirty, many broken fixtures. 1 night stay was $480 + Ridiculous!!!The building is cool, great views inside and out. Hallways were pungent and stinky, staff apologized, but didn’t do or say anything to help.

Overall the trip was great. Staying at the Lodge was well worth it with the perks. Service was a bit so-so, but it was a great trip. Hearts and Flowers package isn't worth the additional money, but it was a nice touch.

I stayed here during my trip to the Bass Shop Pyramid in Memphis, Tennessee. The hotel is absolutely stunning for it being inside a pyramid in a bass pass shops. The staff were nice and the check in process was easy getting to my room. The room was absolutely stunning being basted off of hunting and the fishing environment being spot on and having the wood cabin feeling. The room was absolutely comfortable and one of the best hotels; for it being owned by Bass Pro Shops franchising. The patio was nice and had a great view of the store. I will stay when in Memphis again.

Our room was great. Interior double queen. Had a large balcony that overlooked the store right above a pond with many fish and ducks. Bathroom was cool, glass shower was large with a waterfall shower head that had fantastic pressure. Separate whirlpool tub. We were able to get the room super dark to sleep and we didn't hear an outside sound. The best part was the linens. The towels were really nice, but the bedding was superb. Between the bedding, darkness, and quiet, we almost didn't check out by 11am. I will be trying to contact someone who can help me find where to buy the linens. They had a free shuttle. Our driver Alicia was super nice. She dropped us off at the Peabody to watch the duck march, then came back and picked us up.My only negatives are that the mattress was a little soft for our liking. But it may not be an issue to others. I have a bad back, so I prefer very firm. Also, I thought Walburgers was pricey for what you got. Service was great, but they were out of a lot of stuff leaving my stuck with the mac and cheese which was cold and sticky by the time I got it. My husband liked his chicken sandwich, but it was small for $17 and really should have included fries. All in all I would definitely stay here again, just eat somewhere else.

I booked this place immediately after finding out it existed. Pretty cool. To stay in a Bass Pro Shop? Love it. The jacuzzi had great jets - several! The shower was big, the balcony opened up overlooking the store inside. Overall, really interesting with a splash of luxury. Now, the hidden fees - only $20 + another $20...but why? And the cleaning could have been better. First glance everything was neat, but the loveseat had lots of crumbs and smashed chips in the cushions and under the chair... All-in-all, I enjoyed it and glad we stayed. But, we've stayed and probably don't need to do it again 😉

We stayed here Day Weekend and we will definitely be back again! The rooms were nice and had a rustic log cabin look. The ladies at the front desk were so nice and helpful. Someone even called up to our room to make sure we didn't need anything and asked if there was anything they could do to better our stay. I have never had that happen anywhere else I've stayed and it made me feel like they really cared. The gym was clean and the equipment was in good working order. And our view of the bridge was AMAZING! We will definitely be staying here again. Thank You Everyone at Big Cedar Lodge for making our stay an amazing time.

The room and scenery were great. Check-in was beyond a disaster. We arrived early and the room had not been prepared yet so my family and I decided to look around and have dinner up on the lookout. The girl at the desk took our information and said she'd "call" us when the room was ready. Hours passed by and no call. We made our way back to the check-in desk after a way over-priced meal that we had and had to wait an hour for because the chefs in the lookout were standing around talking instead of cooking. This irritated the entire waitstaff, but nobody seemed to want to do anything about it. We also had to deal with people taking selfies and photos of the fish tank or surrounding scenery.Next we find out that our room was never prepared and was in fact given to someone else who had no reservation. The lady helping us was about to break down and the other ladies at the desk didn't really lift a finger to help her get the situation straight. After over an hour, she got us into another room which was not an ADA room. This made the situation even worse for us but we dealt with it since it was only one night. We had reserved the ADA room several months ago so that part was even more salt into the wound. An hour later after we went up to the room, there was a knock on the door and another family outside trying to get into the room. Apparently they had reserved that room and got bumped to put us into that room. When I called the front desk to let them know, I was told, that "it happens all the time". The room was okay, but the teenagers making loud noises to echo really put even more of a dampener on the experience. My wife received a text message asking for a rating of the experience and she replied with a 2 or 3 rating. To this there was no reply. Later she got an email asking the same thing. She replied the same and this time we received a call from Rachel Blackwell, the operations manager. My wife was too upset to speak at this point about it and I talked with Ms. Blackwell. When I told her that the entire experience was horrible and why, she did offer to refund our money. I got off the phone with a feeling that she didn't really care. I was refunded money over a week later, but not the dollar amount I originally paid. I was shorted $200. I have tried SEVERAL times and left SEVERAL messages to get this resolved but nobody will respond. I guess they feel they've done enough even though they said they would refund ALL of my money.Overall, a great looking place but WAY too overpriced from the rooms to the drink machines that charge $99.95 for a 12oz can of soda, to mismanaging reservations, to the POOR staff managing the place!

Rooms were spacious and clean!Service was great!A bit of a ways away from the downtown area but walkable if it's a nicer day. There is also a shuttle option via the hotel app that works similar to uber that picks you up and drops you off within 3 miles of the resort between 9am and 9pm.

I loved this place so much! It was a good location in Memphis and it’s just so unique! We loved being able to come out to the lounge of the hotel and watch the fish swimming around late at night when nobody was there. We had an interior balcony room and really enjoyed it. Allie and Ashley at the front Desk were amazing too. They were helpful!

We spent the night at Big Cypress Lodge on our way home from a week long road trip. It was great! Our room was spacious and comfortable, the balcony looking into the store was a fun, unique place to chill before going to bed. The observation decks were a great place to watch the sunset and the 3rd floor Terrace bar is a very nice space to watch the light show that the bridge puts on or just hang out around the fire pit. The store is everything and more that you would expect at a Bass Pro. They also offer shuttles to Beale Street. We didn't take advantage of that perk but it's a nice one! I thought the store was rather dark, because of the structure there are no windows/natural light. It's definitely a lodge vibe so maybe the dimmer lighting fits that theme better. Also, the rooms are not well insulated. We heard voices next door and footsteps above. We always sleep with fan app on my phone so we just cranked it up a little more but if you're a light sleeper, this could be more problematic.

The lady that works at the front desk Ashley C. truly knows great customer service. She went above and beyond to make our whole family feel welcomed. She was always friendly and always spoke when she saw us pass by. I can not say enough wonderful things about this amazing lady. The room was really nice and cozy. My only complaint is that there was only one elevator that worked.

We decided to stay here after the reviews online. It seems to me to be one of the safest in the area. Really cool place, and they treat you very well at the front desk. Ashley was phenomenal. We loved her.Rooms were laid out well and very nice. The bathroom was a rain fall shower head and big garden tub. Free bottled water and a couple of snacks. The biggest complaint I would have is that rooms were dirty, in my opinion. Lots of dust around the wall trimmings and the bathroom surfaces were dusty as well. For the money we spent, it should be sparkling clean to me. The pillows also weren't good, but the bed was comfortable. The elevator going to the top 300 feet or 28 stories was a bonus. Beautiful views, and we all loved that. Real nice restaurant at the top that are not really expensive and have good food.If I went back I wouldn't stay here but I would visit the restaurants and elevator. We paid around $347.00 per night for our room.

Lots of fun and activities on site. The fixtures are showing some wear but in the overall log cabin decor it's not detracting from the experience. We stayed one night while doing a long drive and we were pleasantly surprised by how fun it was. We will probably make a trip back just to stay here!

This comment is from March 13, 2024. We made our reservation on the 11th at night. The girl in the office was very friendly and her service was super excellent. She explained in detail which floor we were going to, what time to have breakfast, but the next day I went with my roommates, to have breakfast, the African American woman in charge of the kitchen, came out when she heard that I and my roommates were speaking Spanish and told us in front of many people who were there at that precise moment who were North Americans, leave, I don't want you to come back. See here at breakfast you can stay but not eat, and well he surely calmed down when he saw that I did not appear to be of legal age which is why my age is 19 years old, and it was me who he yelled at, I know we don't belong here I am a foreign person but if he had told me in a low and calm voice I would just pack my things and tell the boys let's get out of here, but I felt bad, how people were looking at me, I felt super miserable.

Stayed here for concert at the Bankplus Amphitheatre. Great hotel, room seemed brand new. Breakfast was delicious and all of the staff were extremely nice. Distance to venue was only 4 miles. Would definitely book again.

I really enjoyed this hotel. Convenient downtown location and close to all the places you might want to see. The hotel was very well kept and clean. Service from the front desk and breakfast attendants was great. The breakfast at this hotel was one of the best that I have seen from the many Choice-branded hotels that I have stayed with. Not only was it plentiful, but it was hot and provided several options. This hotels is a great value all things considered as compared to other much more expensive hotels in the area. This hotel DEFINITELY provides you with what the Comfort Inn brand is all about.

Fantastic, person in charge of breakfast was there refilling food as needed. There was 46 in our group, we never ran out of food, especially biscuits, eggs and gravy. Had real eggs, not powdered like in Florence. Will recommend this place to friends and family. Will definitely stay here on our next trip to the Ark.

The hotel was easy to find and in a great location about a 10 minute walk to Beale st. Michael at check-in was great. He was friendly and full of great recommendations that he was quite passionate about. We only had 2 days in Memphis, but Michael helped us find a few hidden gems to get the most out of our stay. The rest of the staff was also friendly and accommodating and the rooms were very clean and comfortable.

I can tell why this place has almost 5 stars. Definitely not an upscale hotel (it’s a comfort inn) but my room was very clean and the front desk ladies at check in and check out were very nice. The free breakfast was nice and hot as well. The only downside is the parking garage for guests has narrow spaces so try not to bring a huge suv or truck, also the parking area was run down but it felt pretty secure. I would stay here again.
