Excellent service and clean rooms. Everyone I spoke with at Pennywell were very friendly, helpful and even allowed an early check-in as requested. Parking is $25 a day unless you want in and out privileges and in that case it is $38. Garage gate close at 10pm, so be mindful of that. Onsite self-serve bodega open 24hrs.

I regularly travel to St. Louis for work. I stay downtown to be close to the office. This quickly became one of my favorite hotels to stay at. It is indeed a beautiful hotel and I love how they incorporated a lot of the historic features of the building into the theme of the hotel. The staff is always nice and accommodating. It never takes long to get the car from valet. And the food at the bar is well worth trying! I highly recommend this hotel for anyone needing a quote and nice hotel while in the city.

Very phone friendly and your able to pick your own rooms on your phone and use your phone to access your rooms. Very neat in my opinion.Pros and cons from this location.Pros- parking was excellent! Little stressful at first but once you get parked and your going in and out it's definitely quality compared to other places. We used a parking garage which was the best decision honestly (which is across the street). The service was excellent too! Very nice and compassionate staff for example - We got a room that had a terrible temperature problem and they immediately switched us rooms without us asking to go to another room. Just a very polite place to be and the location is very important here. If you think rooms here are expensive just take in mind the location.Cons - it's a little dirty in the rooms but not the effect we all think. Vents, counter tops, under door ways. Basically places where everyone looks when you get in a room. The bed was perfect we even checked for bugs stains etc. Everything is CLEAN it just need a little touch up is all. My main con is the food. So when you get here the price will skyrocket if you eat here. The food is very expensive for what you get. For us we got two meals which consisted of a burger and fries, and a pasta meal with 1 beer and 2 glasses of wine which ended up being $90 which seems extremely prices but my issue is the quality of food was terrible. I cannot speak for breakfast but the dinner was the worst part. If you decide to dine here or drink expect a pricey bill. They do have music and It's kinda loud but it's okay it's just the hallways echo greatly and could be bother some. All in all it's a nice place and we will be back again. Just minor hiccups and that's okay no place is perfect just know what your getting into.

Pleasant lobby and hospitable service from Toni on the bar. $1 martini is certainly an acquired taste but can’t complain for $1! Room had nice high ceilings. Vents in the room (a/c, extractor fan) were quite dusty and need cleaning urgently. Bathroom was nice and shower was powerful. Overall I would stay again, but cleanliness needs improvement.

The hotel is centrally located in downtown close to Gateway Arch. The lobby is beautiful. The room was very clean and cozy, and all equipment worked fine. Interestingly, there was an old turntable in the room with a number of vinyl records nearby. The restaurant was somewhat disappointing, not because of the food, which was OK, but due to poor service: my main course was never served, and once i reminded them about it the kitchen was already closed.

Stayed for three nights on a long weekend with my family. We loved the style of the hotel, the lobby was beautiful and the rooms/hallways were nicely appointed. The beds were comfortable, the bidet was nice, and they had electric vehicle charging for guests who use the valet service which was very helpful! The service, however, was very inconsistent and typically quite lacking. This lack of service started right from the beginning, when no one came out to help us unload our vehicle or provide a luggage cart upon arrival even though no other guests were present when we pulled up. The front desk reception upon checkin was indifferent, and not at all friendly. Water was not provided despite my Titanium status and the executive lounge being closed as it was the weekend. Also, there was no housekeeping the first night even though it was requested upon check in, and after the second night, they only arrived to clean around 5 PM after we had returned to the room so we had to decline.Overall, I would not recommend this hotel despite some of the positive attributes until the service levels improve. This is especially true if you are a Marriott Platinum or Titanium member as the status doesn’t convey much in terms of benefits.

Worst service I’ve ever received as a Marriott Gold Elite Member!!I discovered bedding had what appeared to be feces on the bedding that had been “washed” by hotel staff and placed on our bed. This hotel is NOT a luxury hotel at best it’s a great motel.

Rooms are really good but the customer service is pathetic. I have stayed here multiple times over the last year and had some good experiences once in while too. However for the past few months I have seen this happen way too often ! Service is super slow, Definitely Don’t have breakfast here, Takes eons for them to prepare. If you try to pre-order or call them for anything, they are extremely unprofessional and will put your call on hold or not pickup altogether.

Quick walk to Busch Stadium and downtown stops. BEAUTIFUL hotel! The absolute best service. Some of the most friendly people you will ever meet work here. Always impressed. Rooms are well appointed with great amenities. Breakfast was outstanding (The Lou). I won't stay anywhere else in STL.

Stayed one night in a Premier Suite and was absolutely wow'd by the price paid for the room. Very clean, spacious, and modern. Surprised to see a bidet and TV in the bathroom as well as extra closet space and a cute record player in the bedroom. Excellent rooftop pool which we were unfortunately unable to enjoy due to packed agenda and rain the following day, as well as a clean Exercise Room. From the front desk, valet, and cleaning service, every staff member were accommodating and pleasant. Bottled waters upon check-in, water stations (regular and different flavors), as well as complimentary coffee in the morning time. Valet Parking as of Memorial Day weekend is priced at $49 (overnight/24hrs) and can be billed to your room. Location is about a 5-10 minute walk to Busch Stadium/Ballpark Village but would recommend sticking with a group when walking to/from after 10pm. Some outside noise in the middle of the night considering the location. Walkable to nearby breakfast/brunch spots as well other popular food options. Wouldn't mind staying here again.
