I travel a lot and I have to say that those is the best place I have stayed. The staff is awesome and very friendly. It snowed and they cleaned off my car. The grounds are very beautiful and natural trails are wonderful. If I could give 10 stars I would. We are already planning our next stay. Thank you.
Stayed for a week in Feb 2024. Family of 3.Pro: Room was clean with no smell and well constructed, scenery was beautiful, breakfast was worthwhile and staff was very friendly. Loved the outdoor fireplace, trail by the lake and recreational room upstairs. Last thing, I love that they provide a mini free tea bar. They're wonderful!Con: Little to no air circulation in the jacuzzi/pool area makes it easy to overheat very quickly. I wish they had a fan running.Overall, exceptional and gorgeous lodge. We definitely recommend.
Came with my family, hoping to have a fun getaway. We ended up having a terrible time! The pool closes for people under 18 at 9. Although this is a good rule for little kids, my 15 year old was bummed when they kicked her out at 9. Walls are thin and showers are small. Staff is rude! Would not recommend!
The rooms were nice for the price paid. The location was perfect for where we were skiing. However we were unfortunately visited with some major issues. The staff are very unfriendly and abrasive. The walls in here are so small that for talking we got a noice complaint. The pool rules are out rages and we got kicked out at 230. I went here with a good idea but was taken down the the terrible staff that were harassing us.
Went here to have a good time, but ended up having a terrible time! The walls are thin and you can hear everything though them. Also the staff is rude and WILL yell at you. If your coming to Boyne don’t come here!
I had such a great time here. The room was great. I got the king bed Jacuzzi room and it fit my needs perfectly. The bed was large and comfortable. The two-person love seat was nice (also a pull-out bed). The balcony view of the river was beautiful. The TV was a nice amenity. Bathroom was clean and easily accessible. The Jacuzzi in the room was also awesome. At first, I thought it may be small and gimmicky, but it easily fit two people and it gets really hot.Aside from that, the lodge itself is great. The staff is always running around cleaning and providing room services. The continental breakfast is better than any continental breakfast I have ever had. Plus, the kind lady that serves breakfast is a treat. She was very kind and accommodating. The pool and hot tub area was great. Going in November, not many people were in there. They keep the pool at a very comfortable temperature and the jacuzzi is quite large. They keep a fire going outside at night and in the morning, so it was nice to sit out by a warm fire.Lastly, the loft area is where I felt the most at home. It is a cozy, dimly lit area full of things to do with great seating. There is a pool table, dozens of board games, big TV, and more. I really enjoyed this area as it makes you feel like you are in a big log cabin in the middle of the woods. All in all, Crooked River Lodge was worth every penny I spent and I will be glad to make an annual visit there moving forward.
The rooms are very old and could use some updating. But the service and location is great. The whole area has tons of restaurants and things to do it's convenient. The skiing here is great. I like that most of their trails stay open late. During the summer the mountain and stunning. There is a lot of outdoor activities from horse back riding, ziplining, biking etc.
It's not the same Boyne I remember, and they seem a bit behind the times. After spending $115 per ticket, we couldn't really ski on Friday with every single snow blower going. That made for a little better snow on Saturday and it was a beautiful day. However, it took forever to get through the ticket line with only 10 people in front of us, so we got a late start. I've been skiing for 50 years, but my cousin's family flew in from Atlanta for their first ski trip ever. We suggested they take a private lesson together, which they did. After spending a ton of money, they said it was a horrible experience getting stuck with a guy that yelled at them to pay attention and do what he does. They are tech savvy, so they bought their lift passes online and said it was about as slow as the ticket line we waited in. We had lunch at the base of the hill outside on a picnic table. It was pricey, but decent. I do like the apres ski environment and party vibe, but the music was so loud it was hard to hear each other talk. I wasn't offended by all the hip hop f'bombs in the music being played, but my guess is other families with small children were. It was nice to get some turns in last weekend, but to us it wasn't worth the money they charge, especially for the service we received. It doesn't cost much more to go out west for the real deal, so I recommend passing on Boyne.
Always a wonderful atmosphere when we visit in the winter. The service is excellent and we enjoy walking around the grounds and enjoying a few meals in the on-site restaurants. The rooms are always clean. The soaps provided in the bathroom smell absolutely amazing. The mattresses always seem semi firm with comfortable linens. I wish they had some firmer pillows as they're down and completely flatten as you lay on them. We've visited a few restaurants and have always enjoyed the nice atmosphere and live music when we can. Everything is very accessible and close to the main lodge if you're wanting to walk from your room to a restaurant or bar. The pizza is amazing from the trophy room.
Took the family down there, it was our first time. We lodged in a 7-12 person condo. We had a great time everybody was friendly. The food was good especially the 40 Acres Tavern wings! We did a little skiing for the first time the personal trainer definitely helped us to get an understanding. Last we went to the indoor water park which included three tube slides.
I love the fall colors here. It’s beautiful. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious but old and needs updating. It’s expensive but definitely charming. Do if you don’t want to stay at the resort, just stop by and hike up the mountain or ride up and go on the bridge. Highly recommend in the Fall about mid October.
