This was our fourth time starting here, and like always, it was fabulous. Everything from the awesome views, to the fresh fruits, and even the livestock makes staying here a great way to decompress, reconnect with your loved ones, and enjoy all nature has to offer. Carl and Rhonda do everything they can to ensure your stay is memorable.
The perfect place to relax, unwind, and reset! If you're looking for a cozy cabin, deer right outside, fantastic hosts, and some peace and quiet...it doesn't get any better than this! This cute cabin is well stocked with everything you need for a delicious, make it yourself, breakfast. Complete with local coffee, to get your morning started off right. Far enough away from downtown to really enjoy being unplugged, but close enough to experience the fun things in Fredericksburg. This was the perfect getaway!
Spent a couple days in "Rocky Top" cabin. It was very clean, tidy, fridge was well stocked for breakfasts, etc. The view over the canyon was beautiful. Probably the best part of this experience was due to the Owner/Operators. They are very nice and super helpful. Even entertained the kids with getting eggs from the chickens, feeding some cows treats, and giving them rides on their utility vehicle. We will definitely be back again!Oh, and not too far from Fredricksburg, Luckenback, TX, food, etc.!Worth the trip!!!
We haven't even left yet and I felt compelled to leave this review. I can't say enough about the cabin, the proprietors, etc. Just a perfect weekend! I mean, where else can you go where the owner invite you (and your furbabies) into their home and offer you a drink before you check in?The cabin was spotless and filled with everything you need including all the fresh fixings for breakfast!
I wish I'd spent more of my vacation here. I had high expectations after reading other reviews and I stayed at the cabin far exceeded anything I could have expected. It was immaculately clean, fully stocked with all the groceries they list for having a terrific breakfast. Fresh eggs, local smoked meat, coffee, fresh sliced berries and biscuit dough you can bake first thing in the morning to have with jam and honey. The sheets were crisp and clean, the blanket was soft and cozy and the view was unbelievable. I stayed in The Woods cabin and watch huge birds circling over the valley. Deer come in the evening and on your kitchen table in your cabin is a gallon bag of feed corn to toss out to the deer. The bathroom had all the amenities you would expect of any fine hotel including soaps, hair dryer, etc. The towels were thick, thirsty, fluffy and smell good. The only thing I would change is to add on several more days on my next visit. Chickens and roosters are starting around, there are cows and geese and myriad wildlife right there on the grounds. Words cannot describe how beautiful this location is.
We rented the Spider house. The cabin is just up the mountain right next to the bike lift, and two trails.Unfortunately you can't get to the lift without driving back down, but it's awesome just for the peace and quiet. No cars driving by, it's pretty secluded at night. There is Dish Network satellite. Only one TV (32"). But honestly, we were out all day riding so we really didn't need much. The house is very clean there is a water cooler with bottled water, kitchen utensils, plates, glasses. The parking down by the house is hard for a low profile car to get out from, so we parked up just off the road. There are two lower trails right next to the house (Sidewinder, and Sleep Tight). The view from the porch during the day is really nice. The moon was out and very bright while we were here so we didn't get to see much of the stars. But the porch is still great place to hang out after a long day of hiking or biking.
Amazing Place, we go every Labor Day 😃 Cabins are nice and clean. We take our boat out and have family fun and togetherness. No cellular service makes it so much better because it is all about family. They have a swimming pool you can relax at or a boat ramp if you want some boating fun. They have biking trails now on Spider-Man Mountain Beginner to Extreme. A lift takes you up, and you ride down. Also, trails to hike and more FUN Fun FUN
Our family reunion was held there. There were plenty of cabins, a great pool and lake, volleyball nets, and a not so great softball field. Volleyball nets could stand to be replaced. Also, one family arrived at 2 in the morning, and no one was in the office. They had to stay in a random cabin until they could ask someone in the office in the morning, but overall it was lots of fun.
Room 4.What a nice, clean quiet stay. Fully equipped with everything we needed and more. Full kitchen. Nice sized table - we had work to do do this was helpful. Nice little bathroom with good water pressure & hot water. Beds were super comfy with soft linens. We even had a porch panther hang out.Shower is a little tight and the head is at aboy 5 1/2" Not good for head washing but perfect to get hot water on the back!
I stayed here a few years ago and it was decent, but my most recent stay exceeded my expectations. The cabin we were in had been freshly renovated and it was so clean and well stocked. It was really cute and functional - way better than a hotel room. We enjoyed being able to cook our own meals and we utilized the picnic area and charcoal grill in front of the cabin to make a nice dinner, all with a great lake view. Even though the lake is a little lower than usual, we still had a great time fishing off the docks. We did the Spider Mountain "ride hard rest easy" promo and got two free lift tickets to the bike park and had a great time there as well! The service was also outstanding and the staff is super helpful. We didn't use the pool but it also looked freshly renovated and very inviting, we were just so busy with other things! There are nice bonus amenities like a gift shop with snacks, sundries and ice. You can also rent a kayak, paddle board, or boat and there are boat slips available if you have your own. The boat ramp was closed when we went because of the water levels but people were still able to put their boats in somewhere else and park them in the slips on site. This lodge is an outdoor adventure hotspot! Can't wait to be back!
