First time staying in a bed n breakfast. I loved the vintage aesthetic and made me feel comfortable and cozy with some aspects of the room. Such as the small, old TVs and chandeliers! Gorgeous!
An absolutely adorable inn! I loved everything about this place. The amenities, aesthetic and location are the foremost of the high caliber services offered here. Kelley is an excellent BNB innkeeper, offering suggestions for whatever excursions/services one might need whilst vacationing. I plan to stay here whenever I'm in Chattanooga. Also, the coffee here is delicious.
If you're looking for a true B&B experience, This is not the place to go. This is more like a rent a room with free breakfast. We B&B quite often, we do perfer more boutique types, saying that we expect a few things at a good B&B. One of the reasons we stay at a b&b is the meeting of people at a prepared unique breakfast by a representing employee or owner of the property and exchange sight seeing experiences. At this place we were handed a breakfast take out menu with 3 different choices for their property owned Cafe. Not a sit down Cafe, but a takeoutcafe. Although some good points: This location was the BEST. & the employees at check in were great.. We had a suite, full efficiency, paid extra for the room size. Room nice but we were told once arrive, can't use oven or stove, though it shows on line it was Available. It didn't affect us as much, but it may effect Others that were planning on using it to prepare meals. Don't advertise if you don't have it. Rooms clean, daily room pickup & towels. Improvements could be; real liquid cream for coffee NOT dried package cream, who serves that anymore ? Make sure u bring ur own hair conditioner, u only get the 2 in 1 here, and women we know that does not work. All in all It was like renting a room, not a b&b.
My husband and I stayed here last year for our anniversary, and we had such a good time that we booked the same room to stay in this year. Service is wonderful, and the rooms are great. If you stay here, you’re in the perfect location to walk to all the best stops in Chatt. We didn’t drive the entire time we stayed because we were close to everything we wanted to see.
This was my first bed-and-breakfast experience, and I really enjoyed it! I didn’t even realize that the inn was just one part of the larger property, which is all very cool with beautiful architecture and vibes. Our inn keeper, Georgia, it was very sweet and accommodating. Our room was large, and the bed was very comfortable and we slept great! My wife wasn’t super keen on the old house feel, though I loved it, but by the end of our stay, she commented on how the place had really grown on her! It’s really fun to walk over to their coffee shop, Rembrandts, to get free coffee all day, and a really delicious breakfast as a part of our stay. I would definitely come back and stay again!
It was one of the best B&B experiences we've ever had and we've been to many. I found it 1 week earlier while walking around the Arts District and booked online. I even made a mistake booking the wrong night and they called me and were able to correct it. Room, location, staff, food options for dinner and breakfast were all exquisite. Price was great for what you get too.
This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast and we had an amazing stay at the bluff view inn! We stayed in the Frierson room, which was in the Maclellan house (the main house of the three). The house had a few sitting rooms on the main floor including a dining room that would be great for business work if needed or just looking out onto the river (it has a great view). Our room was spacious, cozy, and perfect for the two of us! As the website says, it had a little view of the river through our window and the room had lots of natural light during the day. We could control the temperature in the room, which was nice with the July heat. Check-in was super quick and easy and the innkeeper gave us great tips about the area and was incredibly informative. Every day there is a newspaper clipping set out with events around town for the day which is so thoughtful!Parking was included with our stay around the bluff district. Bottled water was available in our room daily and there were soft drinks and ice buckets that we could bring up to our room as well. Fresh coffee was also available at 6 am everyday as a little head start to our morning. One of our favorite parts of our stay was the included breakfast at Rembrandts right down the street! Their coffee is absolutely delicious and they have heavenly pastries, chocolates, and an abundance of breakfast options to choose from! We loved starting our mornings on the patio here at one of our favorite places in all of Chattanooga. We also loved having a reservation at Tony’s (across the street) included as well, which is always super busy because their authentic, freshly made Italian pasta is hands down the best! This is definitely a place you do not want to miss.Additionally, you seriously cannot beat the location of this bed and breakfast as it is within walking distance to everything! The walnut bridge is right down the road and the aquarium is down the street. This really is a walker’s paradise - we loved going on the riverwalk in both directions, exploring the city center, and even going all the way to the south side of the city. Everything was so close by and we loved how easy it was to get to it all and come back to our home base on the bluff! The only improvements we could suggest for making our stay 5/5:-the bed was very firm for our taste, but of course everyone is different, so it could just be us. However, I think some sort of mattress topper might be a good addition!-the pillows were pretty flat, but again this is subjective and we could have just brought our own-outlets/available wall plugs were very few and far between in the room, but this is a very old house so we get it. However, additional power strips may be helpful if that is allowed!Overall these are just minor things we noticed and they definitely did not significantly impact our stay. We had an absolutely wonderful time staying here and will definitely be back someday!
Hotel offered decent amenities but lacked in good upkeep. Property is showing age - the room I was in was on the 10th floor and had stained carpet, scuffed furniture, etc. The AC filters hadn't been cleaned in a long time, so I cleaned them myself. There was mold growing in the corners/around the edges of the bathroom ceiling, most likely from the lack of adequate ventilation. The fabric shower curtain was moldy as well; although it seemed to have been washed, the mold had left stains. The grout looked to be growing mold as well. It could use a good scrub.Fitness center was well-equipped and staff was friendly. The bed was clean and very comfortable. All in all - decent hotel, but could use a more thorough, consistent cleaning.
Very welcoming! Traveling with a friend for a weekend trip and after a long day of travel, Gunnar at the front desk was very kind and accomodating. We came in late and needed a good meal, even though the restraunt was getting ready to close, Kelly told us to take our time and did not rush us. The food was great and was exactly what we need after a long day.The executive chef, Evan was amazing, he came to our table to ensure that everything was ok. Both Kelly and Evan were great and made us feel very welcomed.
My family and I stayed this past weekend. The location is convenient to all attractions, the common areas are appealing and all the staff that I encountered were very friendly. However that is were the positives end. The double bed room is small and outdated. Our room was pretty disgusting with stained carpet, torn and stained bedding, and a bathtub that should have been resurfaced years ago. I took some pictures but not of all the carpet stains and bedding. The heavy curtains don’t close completely so street lights beamed through. Our employer booked the room so we didn’t want to make a fuss but if we had booked I would not have allowed my family to stay there. The room quality was budget inn at best, and I didn’t sleep at all the first night dealing with anxiety from the lack of cleanliness. We had to use our kids throw blankets to sleep on top of the gross bedding. I’m not sure if all of the rooms are like this but the fact this was given to us doesn’t give me high hopes. I would not recommend and we let our employer know as well to not book here again.
Great location! Within walking distance of restaurants. Good Gym. Bedding had some stains. Smoking section is by the front door. That is ridiculous and looks trashy. Not family friendly.
Great place. Loved being close to the bridge, and within near proximity of many things. Parking is a bit high, but it works.Rooms were clean, staff was very friendly.I would stay here again.
First the good: location, attentive and friendly front desk staff. The bad: sofa bed was so uncomfortable, room could have been cleaner, and we had a negative experience at the bar. We were looking forward to having a drink before bed and went down to the bar at 10:30...they close at 11 so we had time. When we arrived we were told by one bartender it was last call and we could only get water or beer. This was as the other bartender was actively pouring another guest liquor. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. It really put a damper on our fun vacation. The bartender was just so rude to us.
We got a King size bed and the room was so tiny! The front desk staff were really helpful if you were able to get them on the phone. Heather that works in the restaurant is amazing! Very tentative and helpful. The location is convenient to everything! Great location.
We came in on a Friday and stayed till Sunday. Rooms were kinda small for $325 a night. No exhaust fan in the bathroom and the small fridge and microwave were not secured. Every time I opened the microwave I had to make sure I didn't pull it off the shelf. The same for the fridge, you needed two hands to open it. I could never get the digital key to work so I got a key card. The TV only has 50 channels. The best part of the hotel room was the shower. It's got the pressure of a fire hose. Great for a morning message. The body wash, shampoo and conditioner that they provide you with was top notch. I'm actually looking for it on Amazon. The hotel is in a great place that is close to everything. The hotel staff was very nice and they give you fresh baked cookies when you arrive. Maybe if we came during the off season it would be cheaper and worth it. For $700+ I don't feel it was worth it. $175 all day long.
