We have stayed multiple times at the abbey lantern Inn. Can't say enough about it. It's close to foxwoods, like moments away, and you have the quaintness of the countryside. You can have breakfast there too. I wish that if they weren't full on weekends that they would accept one night rentals. Clean, and well maintained.
Abby's Lantern Inn is a treasured gem, in my books. Stayed a long wkend in the Southwest Room. Truly comfortable bed, cherry wood for the fireplace every nite, and the whole house is spotless CLEAN! Erika is a delightful hostess as well as a chef! She resources local organic eggs, bacon, & a multigrain bread that is marvelous!! She has breakfast specials as well. I am so glad to have found this beautiful, clean B&B!
It was all you might hope for in a bed and breakfast. Very clean, beautiful rooms, very nice breakfast, and hosts who are pleasant and not overbearing. There are great walking trails which begin on the property. Highly recommend the Pequot Museum and the local cider mill.
Took a weekend getaway, we stayed in the mystic room we loved the jetted jacuzzi. Loved the location nice and quiet and the view was great, also your breakfast you could have delivered to your room and was delicious. Definitely would enjoy staying there again!
Our little cottage was so cute and clean! We had a lovely stay and the breakfast was wonderful! They even sent us off with some apple cider we missed out on the night before. Beautiful property and kind owners.
My husband and I booked a few days here for valentines day. We have never stayed at a b&b before and it was amazing. Erica & Peter made us feel at home. We had amazing breakfast both days and the first day they made our stay special with champagne & chocolate strawberries. Our room was amazing and we will definitely be back. Loved how peaceful and quite it was.Never change, thank you.
This is an Excellent place to stay to relax & have fun. You are about a mile away from Foxwoods & a great Native American museum. About 15 minutes from mystic seaport, shopping & dining out … But you know what makes this Inn great? Erica your hostess & Lucky her kitty. By the end of this stay we felt we made a new friend when it came to Erica. The breakfasts were fantastic & fresh. Erica attended to all our needs. This place is beautiful & cleaner than clean. If your looking to relax, have fun or a romantic weekend THIS IS THE PLACE- Look no further! - I know we will return!
Abbey’s lantern hill inn exceeded my expectations during our recent trip to mystic. It was the most perfect and cozy location for a getaway. The room was very clean, comfortable and charming. The jetted tub was a nice way to unwind after walking around all day. Breakfast was delicious each morning and something we looked forward to during our trip. I can’t say enough great things about this place and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
We stayed for two nights in The Cottage and had a wonderful experience. Our visit was everything you would want: comfortable, quiet, lovely surroundings, and a delicious, made-to-order breakfast. Erika and Peter were so friendly and helpful with restaurant and sightseeing recommendations. The jacuzzi was the perfect touch. We look forward to coming back again, next time with our daughter and doggy.
An absolute gem of a place! If you are looking for a quiet getaway this is the place to be. Perfect for couples looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day living, this charming house is just the place to be. Our favorite part was waking up to breakfast which was quite delicious. The rooms were so comfortable and relaxing and decorated wonderfully. Highly recommend this quaint Inn!
I booked this for a girls getaway for me and my best friend. It also was her birthday. I have never stayed at a B&B before and wasn’t sure what to except. However, everything I read about Abbey’s Lantern Hill Inn was so positive that I figured “why not”. We were not disappointed!! The room was nicely decorated. We loved the cute chairs and the bed was very comfortable. The grounds are so beautiful. Even though we never left the state the surroundings made us feel like we did and at the same time close to great restaurants and places to go. The breakfast both mornings were delicious. I can’t say enough. We definitely will be back. We only met Ericka, but she was a delight.
Great location by Hammonasset Beach State Park and shops in Madison. The food and service were fantastic. Very comfortable and friendly environment. Highly recommend!
This place is wonderful! Michael is an excellent host and chef. The rooms are immaculate and the property is gorgeous. Although all of the area outside of your room is considered common area, there are enough outdoor seating areas to where privacy is also easy to find. The mature trees and shrubbery around the property makes the B&B feel secluded even though it's in the heart of the town center. I hope to stay here again someday and I'm grateful for this experience. Thank you, Michael!
What a great place. Our room, #1 Madison Getaway was on the first floor and was superb. When you walk in, the sleeping area had a cozy queen-size bed a fireplace and a TV. There was an adjacent sitting-room with table and chairs. We had a two-person jetted tub and individual robes supplied. There was a mini fridge a microwave and a closet and drawers. Our room also had a private porch attached. There were extra blankets and pillows supplied and you could control the temperature in the room. There was a library where you could read your book quietly or borrow one of their books or DVDs to play in your DVD player in your room. There was a communal living room with supplied coffee and tea. Breakfast was in the communal dining room every morning. The first morning, Michael, The innkeeper and chef made an open faced omelette with butternut squash, caramelized onions tomatoes sausage and seasoning, served with toast fruit and an awesome cranberry scone. The second morning he made frittatas with spinach tomatoes Brie cheese caramelized onions sausage served with toast and fruit variety. I'm a very plain eater though and only wanted scrambled eggs and he was happy to make those individually for me. You can request a special breakfast the night before if you have allergies or food you don't like. The grounds were beautiful and well-kept there was an outdoor sitting area and you could rent bicycles if interested. Off-street free parking. Check started at 2 p.m. although you could request an earlier check in.It was perfectly located near shops, restaurants, movie theater, library, etc. What more could you ask for. Definitely a place to revisit again.
What a wonderful place to stay. Far from mainstream, with a lot of decoration. A little over the top for my taste. We arrived late at night and found the key exactly as described. Rooms are clean and individual. Breakfast was by far the best we got on are trip to the states. Even far more expensive hotels had nothing to compare to the excellent breakfast we had every morning. The owner is only there in the morning, so service is limited to that time. But that was fine for us as we were away all day as well. Coffee, tea and water are available for free at any time of the day.
I've now stayed here twice, and both times had a lovely time. The second time, I even got a surprise upgrade to a beautiful room when I arrived. The location is great, breakfast is tasty, and I love the old-school style of having DVDs to watch movies in your room.
Had a wonderful stay this past weekend. The room was lovely and very cozy. The host was great and we had a relaxing weekend. Being able to have a fire in the fireplace was so nice and I look forward to staying here again someday!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Scranton Seahorse Inn in August to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The Inn was beautiful and it was a pleasure to chat with Innkeeper Michael. The room was so comfortable and had all of the amenities needed for a delightful stay. Michael gave us great suggestions for local walks to take around Madison and other activities to do during our stay. Breakfast was absolutely delicious!
This b&b was comfortable and we loved the whimsical decor. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The proprietor was very accommodating and cooks a great breakfast! We neglected to check the train schedule and wer going to just miss the breakfast they serve at 9, and he went out of his way to pack some sandwiches to go! Location is super convient to the nice little town of Madison and there is a CT Rail station in walking distance. Highly recommend if you are looking for somewhere to stay in the Madison CT area.
Our host was very communicative and made check in a breeze. He is an amazing cook and breakfast was absolutely exceptional. The room was clean and I loved how the common areas were decorated for Christmas. We will definitely visit again!
