Fantastic, eclectic, artsy-designed rooms. We stayed in the Griffin Loft - very cool. All amenities are well thought out and of quality design. Very comfortable, very cool and well located.

This is a one of a kind hotel! It is truly boutique and just beautiful. You can tell that everything is thought out and intentional - from the decor to the snacks to the in-room espresso machine and all the fixings to make any coffee drink you’d like. The bed and linens were amazingly comfortable. While I was a little surprised there was no person at the front desk upon arrival, communication was 10/10 with the hotel staff. They sent our access code via text prior to our arrival. Upon check out, we wanted to walk around downtown Hood River after the designated check out time and they let us keep the parking pass while we explored town - and this was all communicated via text! Genius - no waiting in lines! We truly felt the hotel staff was personal (again despite not being at the front desk!). I will 100% be recommending this place to others and plan to be back for a longer stay next time!

We stayed in Griffin's Loft for one night. Our only regret is that we didn't stay more nights, especially since we had to attend a wedding during our stay. Griffin's Loft is an experience to savor. The owners have created a rich, layered ambience that transports you to a different era while still providing any necessary modern touches. We felt like we were living in a beautiful cocoon removed from the problems of the world. Thistledown's location also provides easy access to Hood River shops and restaurants. We cannot wait to return and are already imagining the possibilities. It is rare to find a hotel that embodies this level of imagination, creativity, attention to detail, and thoughtfulness in providing a sumptuous experience for its guests.

Amazing. Simply stunning. Maximal aesthetics and uncompromising design. Myself, my wife, and another couple booked the Emerald Penthouse and adjoining Juliette Suite for my wife’s birthday. My only regret was not considering how I would top this year’s trip in the future. The rooftop with separate grilling, lounging, and soaking areas, the complimentary snacks and beverages, and the amazing ambiance was too much to enjoy in a single night. Next time we’re staying indefinitely! Do yourself a favor and book at the Thistledown. It may have been the best hotel experience I’ve ever had, and I get around. 😉A special thank you to Sarah and Kimi for the personalized attention and sweet consideration of all aspects of our stay. Especially allowing us a few extra minutes to evacuate the room! Your generous hospitality and amazing decor have made Thistledown on Oak my number one recommendation for locals wanting an exciting or special experience nearby, or to anyone who’s looking to visit the Hood River area and wants a uniquely memorable experience beyond the traditional serenity of the Gorge. I wish you much success in the coming years and I hope to enjoy your successes as a repeat guest as long as you’ll have me back!!!

We stayed in Griffin’s Loft during our one night in this hotel. I don’t know if an on-line review can adequately describe this “hotel”. It is more like an inhabitable work of art. The space has a museum feel, the overall theme being somewhere between Hogwarts and Sherlock Holmes’s flat at 221B Baker Street, full of exotic souvenirs. Just navigating through the building to get to the Griffin’s Loft was an adventure, in a good way. Stout wooden beams in the ceiling are juxtaposed with Victorian paintings and furniture. Despite the exquisite flourishes (everywhere) the two-story loft space does not feel gimmicky at all. Rather, the whole effect is tasteful and beautiful. Every detail is carefully thought out, down to the coffee and washcloths. I could easily see this hotel being a destination in itself. It is smack in the middle of downtown Hood River, and convenient by walking to restaurants and coffee shops. Very unique, and worth the splurge.

The hotel is in a great location by the riverside. Our room was clean, spacious, and equipped with all the necessary amenities, including a fridge and microwave. There's a fantastic riverside restaurant, and they offer coupons to lower the cost of meals.

I did not stay in this hotel. I was charged for staying in this hotel and am now disputing it with my credit card company. I did not make this reservation and did not know about the whole deal. when i tried to talk with the manager she let me know that if I didn't pay the $900 and put in a dispute with my credit card I would be black listed from Best Western. Truly - with this type of attitude I would NEVER stay at Best Western or its affiliates. I will always choose hospitality that makes the customer and potential customer number one. Frankly this is not the kind of business I would support. - added response -- I see the managers response which is not the point and is aimed to deflect - I did not make this reservation. when i told the weekend manager this her first response was 'if you dispute this you will be black listed from Best Westerns' Not - 'let's see if we can fix this' - it was an immediate threat. i dont know who made this reservation but am working to find out. the charges have been disputed and I hope Best Western can learn to do better.

Stayed the night here for a mother/daughter winery getaway. What a beautiful hotel! We had a riverfront view of the Columbia and a balcony. The room was great. Such beautiful scenery. Our initial failed check-in and one waitress who kept messing our order put us off at the beginning. However, the man who checked us in later, as well as the wait staff at dinner/ordering cocktails, more than made up for the first experiences. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location, fantastic restaurant, hotel staff was very friendly and attentive. The suite rooms are great with the ability to have a full kitchen. The standard riverside rooms were pretty basic but clean and had great views. The pool was outdoors but heated. Our only complaint is that the pillows are terrible! I'm not even sure you could call them pillows. Also, they lack signage in front of the hotel for check-in, and the parking lot is a little confusing since it's shared with other businesses. Otherwise, we would love to stay here again.

I would highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Hood River. Our room was clean and spacious and had a wonderful view of the river. The restaurant at the hotel has really delicious food and great views of the river. There is a paved trail that follows the river that was really nice to run on in the mornings. The outdoor pool and hot tub were also really nice!

I have stayed here many times since the late 90s. The location is great!! Love the views. Some of the rooms are better than others. I believe the west wing rooms are more updated. This last time they put me in east wing. It wasn't bad, but seemed older. Always enjoy the restaurant, bar, and pool/hot tub.
