Where to begin… I think I should start by saying that the hosts – Mary Ellen and Andrew – are lovely people. Our flight got delayed 3 hours and they were very patient and understanding. Later, they went out of their way to make us feel at home… My wife and I are Polish, so one day Mary Ellen (of course without telling us) went to the butcher’s to get some kiełbasa for us and the other guests. I mean, what other hosts do that? She made some wonderful American apple pie for us foreigners to taste. Also, my wife is allergic to dairy, so Mary Ellen would cook dairy-free versions of the dishes the rest of the guests and I were having, looking identical so that my wife wouldn’t feel excluded! Andrew prepared and lent us their private (!) bikes so that we could check out the neighborhood. Not saying that all guests should now go and ask them for those bikes haha (btw, there’s a Bublr Bikes station nearby, we just couldn’t use it because one needs a US phone number to register on that app) – just trying to give you an idea of how nice these people are. They love to chat. What is more, breakfasts are served for all the guests at one big table, so we got to talk with all those other, very interesting individuals. The Victorian guesthouse itself is a delight. We loved its decor and overall vibe. You get plenty of privacy because the hosts live in another house next door. The guesthouse is very well equipped. We needed to iron some clothes for a wedding we were attending, and were able to use an iron and ironing board (just an example of the many amenities available). I should also mention that rooms at the Muse Gallery Guesthouse, as its name suggests, are full of (purchasable) works of art by local artists. You can also get smaller, cheaper souvenirs from the hosts. Charming neighborhood too. Thank you, Mary Ellen and Andrew, for having us! I wholeheartedly recommend your place to anyone who might be reading this review.
We're happy to have discovered the Muse -- a unique concept with the artists' work displayed; great people, comfy beds, wonderful breakfasts, interesting neighborhood. We will definitely stay here again if we come to Milwaukee!
Came upon The Muse when searching for a hotel in Milwaukee and decided to try something different - and we are so glad we did! Far and away a better experience!!! The room was spotless and charming, as were Mary Ellen and Andrew. Greeted with a glass of Sangria and some treats - and the breakfast was next level, a huge improvement over the usual hotel spread. If you are planning to spend a night or two in Milwaukee, you need to give it a try. You won’t regret it.
My stay at the Muse Gallery was wonderful. The Innkeepers are delightful and very helpful. Breakfasts were divine--beautiful, tasty, and sumptuous. My room, Cheryl, was very comfortable. The house is in a quiet neighborhood just blocks from restaurants, coffee shops, and taverns. I will definitely return!
We loved our stay here!! We had the Angela suite which is very nice and spacious. The home in spotless, the breakfast was delicious and the local art work is amazing. I would highly recommend booking your stay!!
The absolute best combination of location (the epicenter of Bay View) and price, with the most unique accommodations, and the most unique breakfasts (charcuterie one day, smoothie bowls and bread pudding the next). Absolutely charming hosts and great art on display - I came home with four pieces! It was a great place for my first bed and breakfast stay, my partner’s first trip to Milwaukee, first time meeting my parents, and first PrideFest. The Julia room was amazing, with an oversized soaking tub, and Peacock decor (emerald is my favorite color). Would definitely love to come back and stay in another room!
We were very happy with our stay. The hosts took great care of us. The breakfast and accommodations were lovely. The decor is really cute and the wonderful art is regularly changed out. I was so happy that we did not stay in a hotel. This was such a better option and so much to do within walking distance. The area of town provides for many options of bars, restaurants and shops. We had our own parking space. We will definitely be coming back next time we’re in town. Thanks to Mary and Andrew. It was a tremendous pleasure to stay there and look forward to the next visit.
My husband and I had the opportunity of spending two nights at The Muse in April. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners Mary Ellen and Andrew two years ago while they were visiting in New Orleans. Our stay at The Muse was delightful, delicious, delovely! Or room, The Loli, was cozy, comfortable, and art filled. Our breakfasts were amazing: homemade quiche, fresh fruit, eggs, ham, bagels, served in a sunny dining room. The Muse is in close proximity to music clubs and restaurants (Santino’s Little Italy was a highlight!), and lovely walking paths. Nothing, however compares to the incredible hospitality of our hosts! We felt completely at home and enjoyed much fun conversation with them during our stay. Thank you, Mary Ellen and Matthew! The Muse is a Milwaukee treasure. You should definitely check it out. —Phil and Leanna, New Orleans, LA
This was our second time staying at “The Muse”. We love it here! Mary and Andrew are amazing hosts! The house is super cozy, filled with peace and very clean. The art is lovely! I purchased a piece that I fell in love with. The area is charming… plenty of restaurants, unique shops, and safe to roam/explore.There is a natural coop not far: The Outpost. If you’re looking for a quaint getaway, in a unique setting, with plenty to do: look no further! “The Muse” offers it all!
This was our first stay on our honeymoon and we loved it! My husband found the place almost by accident while looking for an affordable hotel last minute. The hostess was very kind and offered a few options for us, including a beautiful room with a lovely spa with a delicious breakfast in the morning. The place was beautifully decorated with lots of local art available for viewing or purchase. After checking in, we walked a block or so down the street to a very nice little bar called Sugar Maple. The area was very safe and clean and we felt totally comfortable in the neighborhood. We have already recommended to all of our family and plan to stay here again soon!
My partner booked the room. He was a Bed and Breakfast virgin and didn't know what to expect. What a great experience we had. Located in a fun neighborhood with great dinning and shopping. The hosts Mary Ellen and Andrew made us feel welcome in their home. I highly recommend this Guesthouse. And we plan to use it for all our trips to Milwaukee from now on.
My husband and I were visiting Milwaukee for a wedding and I'm soooo glad we stayed here instead of a hotel! Mary Ellen is very welcoming and the house is gorgeous. There's lots of interesting decor to look at, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom in our suite was like a spa. We were also blown away by the deliciousness of the breakfasts and the amazing sangria we got when we arrived. So good. I've already recommended this place to my family and friends!
I think 10.00 a night to park is unrealistic. They have no monitor on the lot so why the 10.00 charge a night. Said because airport people park there. Need to monitor that because as I see it if you check into hotel you get charged 10.00 a night but if you pull in and park no charge because nobody would know you are there. No gate on entrance and nobody watching no matter what they tell you. They are ripping off their guest that support them. And Hilton will do nothing about this. Shame. Only one in area that does this.
No stars for service. I'm lifetime Diamond with Hilton. I was told that I couldn't use the 10 dollar breakfast credit and the AM Mgr on July 31st wouldn't even give me points. She said she couldn't do it. I've had HGI desk clerks do that without a problem. And.... the digital key never worked throughout the visit. I'm very disappointed, as I've stayed here many times. Air conditioning wasn't working in first room. Jenna at the front desk was wonderful at helping us locate a different room with a working air conditioner. Jenna deserves a raise since the hotel was quite crowded and she is very patient.
Seriously great hotel. Super clean and comfortable. Very friendly staff. Beware of the $10 parking/day (it's listed on their website, but I just didn't pay attention).
Staff was extremely friendly. Rooms and public areas were very clean. There was a lovely fire pit outside. It was cozy and you felt welcome when you came in.
Everyone welcomes you with a warm, welcoming. Always a friendly smile ? and kindness. Always make your stay pleasurable. To the staff here I want to say thank you in our time of need. Y'all had taken some of the stress off my shoulders for a bit and made me n my family feel welcome with going all out.So thank you so much for everything.
The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The mattress was too soft for me but still not uncomfortable. The room had no special features, just a king size bed. Had dinner and breakfast at the resturant. The dinner selections were few and the food was just okay. Breakfast was better, with eggs made to order. If you are looking for a place to stay that is close to the airport, clean, comfortable, and quiet at a fair price, than this would be a great match. If you are looking for a place to stay with on site better resturants, suites, and other amenities look for a different place.
We had a bad experience with a different hotel in the area before coming to the Hilton. Once at the Hilton we knew we should’ve been there from the beginning. The rooms were very nice and clean. Not perfect, but for the area it was very impressive. We were greeted with great staff and management. They went over and beyond to make sure our stay very welcoming thank you Hilton and staff.
We only got to stay one night before flying home to Florida, but we chose Hilton Garden Inn because everywhere we travel there are consistently welcoming, professional staff, clean and comfortable rooms as well as great amenities. This location (in our old hometown) was another GREAT experience! Thank you to all the staff, the shuttle to the airport and the great room where we got to relax after a hard week of work!! We loved our stay!
