I called ahead to see if rooms were available and was told yes. Tried to reserve one but was told the system was down. I was about an hour away. I pulled in and on the lobby door was a sign that said SOLD OUT. The front desk lady wouldn't even come out of the back office to busy playing on her phone. This use to bemy go to hotel while traveling from New England to Oak Ridge, TN, but I guess like all good things, this too has come to an end. The reviews speak for themselves.

Check-in was a bit slow and the plexiglass particians from COVID are still in place and make the place feel less welcoming. Room is very clean with several special touches. Towels white. Great water pressure in shower with full grab bar, which is good because tub is a bit slippery. Pool clean, well lit. Several luggage carts, although there's a punative system in place where the front desk advises anyone keeping a luggage cart in their room overnight, will forfeit their deposit. Great Mexican restaurant next door!!

I've stayed at this hotel a few times and it's typically great. My biggest issue this time was that for some reason the fire alarm went off twice in one day which was odd but also frustrating due to the amount of time the alarm stayed on.Check in and check out is very simple and quick, breakfast is great, and everything you need is in the room.

Warning! It’s not safe to stay here!!! We went into the first room we were assigned, and there were someone else lying in the bed!! The second room the front desk lady gave us has a whole family in there. I’ve never seen something like this happened in my whole life! The front lady put on a ‘not my fault face’ and kept helping others in stead of solving this serious safety issue. AVOID THIS HOTEL.

Stayed for just the night. Chose this location for EV charging. Only 4 of the 6 were working, and only 2 of those charges at 32 amps (the Tesla chargers were only at 12 amps). Cars not using the chargers parked in the spots.Room was clean, and items missing (blanket/pillow/towel) were immediately brought to our room when we called the front desk. Breakfast was the usual fare, good not great. All the staff was friendly and helpful.

This is my 2nd time staying here. The rooms are exceptionally clean. The pillows are super comfortable as are the beds. Breakfast is good with a large variety of foods. The staff are outstanding and professional. It's a pet friendly hotel which is great because I always travel with my dog. If I could give more then a 5*, I would. I'd give this at least a 10++. Love this hotel and will definitely be staying here again.

Fantastic classic hotel built in the late 1800s with all the modern updates. Nice bar off the lobby and fantastic dining and music in the Regency Room.

Gorgeous hotel, amazing hotel, the nicest I ever stayed at. Even before I checked in, Donna was available via chat on the app to answer all of my questions. So thank you to Donna. She is awesome. The lobby is gorgeous, wooden decor and comfy couches and places to sit. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, with a comfy bed and views of the Roanoke Star and the railroad tracks (you can see the trains, but not hear them, which is perfect. Don't want to get woken up by freight trains or the 6:20 AM to New York City.)The Regency Room has an amazing breakfast buffet. I didn't have the Sunday brunch but the regular breakfast buffet is as good as many Sunday brunches. Scrambled eggs were good, they were real eggs. And the homemade biscuits with locally made Tastes Like Grandma's Jam. That name made me think of the scene in The Simpsons where Ralph Wiggum eats the tomacco and says "Eww, this tastes like grandma!" and then Chief Wiggum tastes it and says it does indeed taste like grandma but they both want more because it's so addictive even though it tastes terrible. But no, the Tastes Like Grandma's jam is actually amazing. The strawberry jam and orange marmalade are the best jam I ever had and the biscuits were good too. And the spoonbread, oh yes, the spoonbread. I had never heard of spoonbread before, but apparently it's like a cornbread casserole, softer and mushier than cornbread, not really a bread despite the name. Served hot with butter, it's amazing. Service at the Regency Room was amazing as well. Keep in mind the dress code is business casual for dinner but for breakfast you can wear whatever. Just wear clothes, as Donna told me. I'm sure there's some reason she had to tell me that, but I don't know what it is. I certainly planned on wearing clothes to the restaurant. But I guess some people in the past didn't so she had to say it. Which is fine, it gave me a good laugh. And housekeeping is friendly and super helpful as well. Big shoutout to Tammy from housekeeping. She is always working hard and doing whatever it takes. She goes above and beyond. And she is so friendly! Thank you Tammy!

My husband and I stayed here on June 13 and 14, 2024 during a short vacation in Roanoke, VA. This was our first time staying in this hotel. We found the experience to be most pleasant and we were extremely pleased with the hotel and our experience. The hotel offers the charm of another era with the amenities one expects today. Our room, #525, was recently redecorated and was very lovely and comfortable. It was in the oldest part of the hotel so was not as large as a room at a modern chain hotel, but we didn’t find that an issue at all and we had adequate room to move around without feeling crowded. The bathroom was well-appointed with lovely towels, high-quality toiletries provided, lighted vanity mirror, and lighted make-up mirror. The bed was very comfortable and there was no noise at all that disturbed us. Be sure to eat your breakfast at the hotel’s Regency Room as it is awesome! We also ate supper in the hotel’s Pine Room and it was delicious with all food locally sourced and made fresh on site. Service in both restaurants was attentive and pleasant, but not intrusive. Everything in the hotel was exceptionally clean and the hotel was filled all over with arrangements of fresh flowers. One can easily walk to the City Market and downtown areas from the hotel, as well as several local museums and attractions. If I had to give a minus to anything about our stay it would be the parking. That being said, there isn’t much the hotel can do to move their parking lots due to historical and architectural restrictions. The next time we stay here (and we definitely will do so) we will pay the small extra amount for valet parking. Attendants are available to assist with luggage and valet parking. We found everyone we encountered at the hotel to be exceptionally pleasant and helpful. Our entire experience was a positive one and we will definitely stay here again when we return to Roanoke.

Fabulous. Hotel Roanoke is a standout w the best employees working the floor and place. Our server Ashley was impeccable from The Pine. My partner dropped his wallet at the bar and a kindly attendee picked it up and returned it right then. This would not have happened anywhere else. Our stay was made perfect by this honest gesture.

I normally don’t comment on hotels, but I have to with this one. The hotel common areas are amazing. They make you feel like you are in another time period. The rooms are clean and spacious. I was a little disappointed that the regency room is closed on Sundays, but the pine room was excellent! My wife is in love with the pork chop. I would recommend the hotel to anyone staying in the area.

Was gifted a night stay. Room was clean and had all the basic amenities. Bed was comfortable enough and room cooled adequately, but I would recommend a fan or white noise machine if you have trouble sleeping.I utilized the room service for dinner, but after all the fees, it would have been better to just go down to the dining area (or if you are visiting Roanoke, just head downtown, there are plenty of options at all price levels). If you stay in the executive area, you will receive a voucher for a meal, but it only covers a portion.I recommend using the Hilton honors program/app to get a digital room key and to check out remotely to save time.

This is an amazing hotel. Not only is the building itself gorgeous, both inside and outside, but as a train enthusiast, I loved the fact that it is situated right next to a Norfolk Southern mainline. I stayed in room 456 which faces the tracks and has a very nice view in general. The room was clean and the property itself is in very good condition despite its age. While this is an expensive place to stay, I highly recommend at least seeing this facility if you’re in the Roanoke area.

Suzanne made our stay a five star ? experience!!! (Again) We visit frequently and do so because she and the staff here are amazing. The history of the hotel, the well appointed facilities and the location make it our Roanoke " go to" place to stay. Thanks to Susan at the bar for her hospitality and Bandy for a great drink recommendation.

It is one of the best hotels I ever stayed. Due to its historic background, decoration, site, and spatial link/bridge to the city center, the Hotel Roanoke has many unique features. The hotel has one main bar and two restaurants. I do like the variety of drinks and food. The hotel has also an executive lounge with a limited service. The conference center is quite spacious. The rooms are decorated in a historic+romantic way. If you go there by a car either you can park your car or ask for a vale parking. The staff of the hotel is very professionel and helpful. If you stay at the Hotel Roanoke please do not forget to watch the documentary movie of the hotel on TV, at the 1st Chanel.
