Great boutique hotel. The rooms have recently been upgraded. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. Housekeeping is exceptional. Great location with plenty of restaurants close, some within walking distance. The Ohio River, with beautiful parks, is just across the street. I would definitely recommend this hotel in lieu of higher priced chains.
Do not book with this hotel. They are lying thieving crooks. Booked 3 rooms for 2 nights for the eclipse in April. Made the reservation on February 2 on their own website for $515. Received a call on 3/19 and the told me they had an issue on their own website and can't honor the rates I booked at. They wanted $400/night instead. So it would now cost me $2400 instead.They refused to honor the rates I booked on their own website, contacted me less than 3 weeks before the trip to tell me this. I live over 8 hours away. They have ruined a trip of lifetime for 6 people. This is price gouging at it's worst.
Got a room with a jetted tub. Not even sure what the price is actually because I was told 3 different things by 3 different people. I ended up paying 220.50 in two separate charges, $100 deposit, $120.50 for the room. Was told the $100 would be refunded at checkout and they refused to honor what was told me, even though they played back the audio in front of me that confirmed everything I said. Even another employee agreed with me, but still no deposit refund process started. In addition, the bedside lamps did not work, there was no telephone in the room as stated on the website, the bed was terribly lumpy and uneven in spots, and there was mold in the bathroom and around jetted tub. Photos included. They said the total room rate was 220.50, without a deposit, which was never said when making the reservation. That room is definitely not worth 220 a night. Absolutely swindled a single mother who had ONE night to herself out of $100. Contacted the BBB as well. Beware of this place.
Overall was a decent stay. This is definitely a motel, not a hotel. The mattress was extremely comfy. We stayed in the jacuzzi suite, and the cigarette smell was choking us from how strong it was but that was expected as it was a smoking room. My biggest complaint is that there was constant construction going on with the building both nights we stayed and we were given no heads up of this or any type of discount. It would’ve been no big deal except for it started at 5am!! And continued until at least 2pm when we left for the day. The shower and jacuzzi did have good water pressure though and never ran out of hot water which is what we stayed for. Also, they have the tv’s locked where you can ONLY watch their channels, (most of them only being Hispanic which is no big deal except I don’t speak fluent Spanish so the tv was useless for us) and not connect your phone to watch anything else.
Manager called me and got smart with me over my autistic children that accidentally spilt chocolate on the floor we didn’t notice. Had a terrible attitude with me. Said they were refunding my deposit but kept the money after the fact. Will never stay here again, windows don’t lock, people having nasty relations in the pool near our children and a terrible manager that calls you to yell and get nasty with you.Replying to owners reply: I TOLD you my children are autistic and yes one of them had an accident which you do NOT have to call them out on it. A good hotel which you’re more like a motel, keeps a protector on and washes their sheets so not sure what the issue is there. My children could not help it. I also apologized on the phone with you and you were still very nasty and greedy. SHAME on you.
The room was average, but the bathroom sink wasn't in the bathroom. It was in the sleeping area. They have a pool! Very convenient location. Staff readily available at all times.
Do NOT stay here unless you want to ingest 20 cigarettes before you reach your room door. The nicotine smell got into our clothes, our food/drink and staff had not a care in the world to make things right. My daughter had a severe asthma attack due to the “non” smoking rooms. Was told management would contact for partial payment considering our stay was a few hours due to the disgusting smell. No one ever reached out and will NEVER stay at another Wyndham hotel. Disgusting! Taking a loss of $150 for a nasty nicotine stay!
Nice hotel, clean and well kept! Jim at the desk is super helpful and nice. The shower puts out nice hot water, well kept, and not too dingy looking. You can tell, it's definitely an older hotel, but well maintained and good past remodels! Why a 4 and not 5? A strong oder of MJ, developed lettuce lingers in the halls.Nice looking pool, and well kept foyer and dining area!
We are staying here now. This is our second time coming here. Very clean and staff is very polite. Sonny takes pride in his hotel. He only wishes what anyone else would and that's to respect his establishment I don't think that's too much to ask. It is a hotel. People these days have no respect for others. My children enjoy the pool and the breakfast. Very clean. Never seen any dirt or bug in my room or in any area of this hotel. I refuse to stay anywhere else when coming to town to see family. It's a great price for all the amenities you get. I recommend this hotel to anyone.Hillary Turner
