Lovely hotel in a great location. Very nice comfortable rooms and easy walking distance to a few pubs and restaurants in Ambleside. Staff are really helpful and courteous so would definitely recommend and return

You will go a long way these days to find a hotel where everything is perfect. From first class service, comfortable well appointed bedroom and a proper traditional restaurant serving excellent food. I am fussy and I could not fault this hotel and will be returning very soon.
Stayed here many times over the last five years, best hotel in Ambleside.Location is fantastic, staff always friendly and the rooms are a great standard with lots of little luxuries aswell as home comforts. The spa is also very good and an excellent way to spend an hour or so, definitely check it out. Food consistently great quality. Not the cheapest in Ambleside but spend the little extra as its very much worth it.
My Aunt and I loved our stay here! Great room, friendly and helpful staff, very cute hotel, great location in the Lake District (the only difficulty was parking but we made it work). Would definitely stay again!
Highly recommended! The location of the hotel is right in the middle of Ambleside so shops, restaurants etc are on the doorstep. The hotel itself is clean with excellent facilities, the spa is amazing! The thing that really sets this hotel apart from many others is the staff, they are so friendly, helpful and really make the stay enjoyable. We will definitely be returning and would definitely recommend this hotel.
Wonderful few days. Thank you. Breakfast excellent. Dining room staff amazing. Room v clean and staff very efficient and friendly. Particularly like to mention Caroline on reception. Such a lovely lady. Hotel so central... ideal for walking out to restaurants Will definitely be back.
We’ve just returned home from the most wonderful stay at The Ambleside Salutation and Spa hotel. During the stay, my partner proposed to me and the hotel staff did their utmost to make our stay extra special. The hotel is in a perfect location and is beautiful inside with a fine attention to detail.Every member of staff we encountered was friendly, professional and warm. We’d like to particularly shout out Manuel was so gregarious and brightened up our breakfast each day!The food was outstanding and very high quality. The whole experience felt more five star than four. I loved this hotel and will definitely be returning with my fiancé 🙂
What a wonderful experience, stayed for 2 nights, in room 101, we had a room with a balcony and a lovely view of the little town of Ambleside. The room was immaculate and clean, the shower was brilliant and the whirlpool bath. The breakfast was fantastic and plentiful. The pool, spa were also brilliant!!!!The staff were 1st class, very polite and helpful they're a credit to the hotel owner and that made our stay extra special.Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful couple of nights, we will definitely return in the future.
We had a wonderfully pleasant and peaceful stay at this beautiful hotel, which we thought to offer exceptional value. It is comfortable and excellently managed, with outstandingly professional service and well-maintained building. We loved both breakfast and dinner, and we were struck by the happy ambience created by the staff, leaving one feeling cared for.
The Grange Hotel is a wonderful place to stay, offering a mix of elegance and comfort. The building itself is stunning, with beautiful architecture and a welcoming atmosphere. My room was spacious and well-appointed, with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. I also enjoyed the on-site restaurant; the food was excellent, with a good variety of dishes and attentive service. The location is ideal for exploring the Lake District, yet it feels peaceful and tucked away. I’d happily return for another relaxing stay.
Great check-in and excellent serviceThe check-in process was very quick, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The room was good, equipped with a smart TV, and everything was clean. Dinner was delicious, and I want to extend a special thank you to our server, Olga, for providing exceptional service. Her attentiveness made the dining experience even more enjoyable.
Wow, we recently stayed here for a weekend away and we were not disappointed. We stayed on a 2 night dinner bed & breakfast offer and we had a great time, the room was large and spacious with a huge bathroom. The bed was super comfy and we had a lovely view of the woodlands behind the hotel. The restaurant was a little stuffy but the service was great, staff are wonderful and very attentive. The food was very good and we had different menus each evening so we had loads to choose from. The breakfasts are very good and set us up each to so we could explore the beautiful lake district. The hotel itself is a stunning building and is very well maintained it looks like it has recently been refurbished and was bright clean with lots of stunning features. We hope to return soon as we had an amazing time .
Situated as you arrive into Grange Over Sands this hotel is set back off the road up a driveway. We had booked the Prosecco Afternoon Tea and we weren't disappointed. Part of the deal was a 2 hour spa session so we used that first before dining. The pool was clean and warm. The hot tub was fantastic. Unfortunately the sauna and steam room were nothing to shout about but that was no real problem. Our afternoon tea was delightful and very flavoursome. It was different as the savory sandwiches were actually on baguettes. The cakes were delicious. The lady that served us was so lovely and courteous and a credit to the hotel. The hotel and surrounding rooms downstairs had lovely decor and clean. Lovely area around the hotel and a stones throw from the beach.
