My wife and I stayed overnight for her birthday and a belated wedding anniversary getaway. The Inn is beautiful and the staff that we transacted with were awesome. We did not eat there, but had a drink in the bar and the bartender was very nice. Our room was exceptionally quiet, very clean and perfect!!! Recommend this for relaxing time away
Experience the hospitality of being charged $6 each morning for coffee! A 2 night stay cost almost 1k, which I understand is not enough to cover the cost of bean water. (EDIT: we did not order 'specialty coffee.' We were served regular coffee, black, from the regular coffee carafe, and charged six dollars each morning).Though I was told coffee was free. I guess they meant free from the dirty peasant's keurig machine languishing in the upstairs hallway next to a stack of paper cups. Oh well.Dinner was interesting. Seasoning and spices have not yet reached this corner of the world. But they do make little filigree sauce designs on the oversized plates. The window cranks in our room were broken (like literally broken out of the plaster). There was glitter all over the floor, which was a little sticky as well. The couch was like a 1990s pottery barn piece -- truly haunted. It's obvious to me that in (and let me amend my wording) this touristic town where there are not many 'luxury' experiences available, this hotel capitalizes on the understanding they can get away with doing the bare minimum. Honestly the passive response below, hinting I ordered something special and was mad about having to pay for it, or am high maintenance for saying LG is a tourist trap (my boyfriend grew up there and his own family says this about downtown LG, what is the problem here?), says it all.
We did not stay, but we did dine at the restaurant for dinner. The food was inventive and delicious and the whole experience made for a delightful anniversary dinner. Service, drinks, mains, and dessert were all excellent (we did not order starters). Ambience was peaceful and our server was top notch. Highly recommend.
Attended a wedding this past weekend, it’s was stunning, the view is breathtaking. The ballroom was elegant and tasteful, friendly efficient staff. The bartenders very experienced, and even more accommodating. My wife asked for unsweetened iced tea with vodka, Marisa did not have iced tea, and that was ok, she did not mind, the bars were quite busy. Before we went back for another round, she brewed fresh iced tea and my wife was over the moon. That’s top tier, thoughtful, friendly customer service, we don’t see enough of it anymore, thank you , keep it up! This was our first visit and we will definitely be back!
Spent a night on a lark with my wife. Fantastic decor and ambiance, with a very friendly and courteous staff. The room was well appointed. Comfortable bed, jacuzzi, and a shower with more than enough room for two.My wife and I paid extra for a fruit and cheese plate with prosecco on ice to be waiting for us in the room.Well stocked bar with a massive stone fire just outside with plenty of deck chairs to lounge on.Stunning views of Lake George from the aforementioned deck.A bit on the pricey side, but certainly worth it if you don't mind the cost and enjoy unique lodging experiences.Very close to downtown and just down the road from several amazing restaurants in the other direction as well.At checkout we had breakfast in the dining room. Very respectable omelette and pancakes between the two of us to see us on our way home.We will definitely stay again in the future.
We enjoyed our 3 day stay at the lodge. It's peaceful, upscale and the location is stunning. The rustic, chic Adirondack styling immediately makes you take a deep breath and relax. A lovely breakfast was served in our room and we ate while gazing out on the lake. We spent one cloudy morning in the canoe and we were the only ones out there. Pretty awesome, indeed. Afternoon wine was nice and the electric boat ride was fun. We had 3 dinners at different restaurants, all within 20 minutes or so and every one was delicious. We look forward to returning!
My husband and I had a wonderful week-long stay in the Birch Room for his 50th birthday in January. The lodge is gorgeous, the food was fantastic, and the innkeeper was wonderful - we had so much fun getting to know her. The hot tub was luxurious and we enjoyed watching movies in the mini-theater with popcorn. There is a sauna and a bar, and lots of games and other thoughtful touches throughout the property. The Birch Room is large but so cozy, with a sitting area, porch, jacuzzi tub, and fireplace. We loved that there was a house dog to pet and cuddle! We can’t wait to go back again next year.
What a wonderful little slice of heaven! Such a beautiful lodge and perfect getaway for my husband and I I am grateful for the opportunity to just relax here. It was our anniversary and was very special for us to be in such a peaceful quiet space to just enjoy each other. To the loons echoing calls the deer walking past our balcony and the beautiful boat ride,we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you!
Had a wonderful, peaceful time at the Fern Lodge. Wendy our host was there for all our needs. Lovely people. What can I say, if you want to unwind, this is the place. Beautiful scenery, room was clean and very comfortable, we had some of the softest sheets I have ever slept on. this lodge offers so much even a small theater to watch movies! We will be back.
My husband and I just stayed here for our honeymoon. It was wonderful from start to finish! Wendy and the other staff member who helped us, whose name I unfortunately forget, were both so kind, responsive, and helpful. The breakfasts each day were incredible too!Downstairs, there is work out equipment, a pool table, darts, games, a sitting area, a self serve bar, a sauna, and even a small movie theatre. This place really has it all. Plus, the bed was so comfortable! Our room also boasted a beautiful steam shower and jacuzzi tub. The grounds are beautiful and there are kayaks and paddle boards available to guests. I could go on and on. We could've spent weeks here! The location was within a half hour of everywhere we wanted to go (Lake George Village, Bolton's Landing, etc.) but its off the beaten path, nestled in the woods. You feel like you're off the grid and you have a wonderful view of the lake. For all that you get here, I think the prices are incredibly fair. The positives are endless. You won't regret staying here!
