Very nice location on the beach, which is not only directly accessible, but also starts right in front of the beautiful balcony. And it's illuminated at night, which looks really phenomenal. So, definitely book a room with a sea view.Otherwise, the warm pool and the whirlpool are really very pleasant, as the sea is very (!) cold (14 degrees for us on September 1st). There are also very good parking options, some good restaurants within walking distance and a very nice reception. The free afternoon snack (really good chocolate chip cookies, fish chowder) also puts you in a good mood.Don't expect too much at breakfast, very limited selection and paper plates/cutlery, small room, but better than no breakfast at all.If I'm in the area again, I'll come back.
This place has an amazing location. It is literally on the beach. However, for the price...you might think that you are getting a luxurious hotel. You do,in some ways, but the furnishings are from the early 90s. There is a wet dog smell. We had sugar ants all over the place. We loved the private balcony. The rooms are really spacious, you get an apartment really. The heated pool and spa area is amazing. Just don't think you are going to be in Waldorf...
Called from Newport and was told there were plenty of rooms for 2 for $200 on a Monday night and to come on in. 20 minute drive and when we walked in suddenly 'there are no more rooms available under $390'. Excuse me? This man apparently did not want a mid 20s white couple staying there once he saw our age? No clue. Super weird interaction, bummer because I was excited for this hotel but will not be back to a hotel with such discriminatory employees. Had a much better experience at the Comfort Inn which was ran but much nicer people and in a better location.
Our room smelt like wet dog and urine and could hear everything through the walls from neighboring rooms and from the outdoor eating area. We booked for a room that had "multiple beds" but only had 2 (which technically would be correct) even though the pictures on line showed 3. Pool, hot tub, and sauna was amazing. Service was also great.
Clean, nicely outfitted room. Pet friendly (they even gave us treats for our pup!) Bed was very comfortable. The balcony had very nice Adirondack chairs to watch the sea. Loved the short walk to the beach and enjoyed some complimentary salmon chowder in the lounge. Nice, warm pool and hot hot tub. All in all, a fantastic trip to the sea.
Can’t say enough good about this hotel. This is our place to stay when near the Lincoln City area. The location is centrally located close to food and shops and right on the beach! The beach access is fairly easy. About 15 steps down to the sand. The staff at the front desk have always been so kind and accommodating. They truly want to make your stay a great one. They are dog friendly and even have small biscuits on the check in desk and a fenced dog play area near the pool and main building. A variety of rooms to suit every need. Romantic king bed with soaking tub and fireplace to more generous family suites with kitchens and full bedrooms. A wonderful place for all. Elevators and plenty of parking. Breakfast is included in the morning in the office. Outdoor pool and hot tub are always clean and well kept. There’s even a nice waterfall feature in the corner. Definitely worth staying!
Ocean view rooms. Reasonable prices. There is a pool, hot tub and a sauna. They have free salmon chowder and cookies at night and a free breakfastOur first time hereWe will definitely be back
We would definately stay here again. We were put in a room on the third floor without having to ask and the view was spectacular. The room was still easy to get to and very quiet. The very private, covered balcony was lovely. The room was clean and spacious and the shower was great. Beach access was super easy and the pool/hot tub were open and very warm. Continental breakfast had several options and was pretty good. Salmon chowder in the afternoon was good and a nice touch. The front desk staff, morning and evening, were friendly, kind, and helpful. For the time we stayed I would say this is a great deal.
We had a room on the first floor and could walk right down to the beach, no long stairway! The view was amazing. Lovely little patio to sun on. The pool and jacuzzi were amazing. Just the right temperature. They had fish chowder at night for a snack. The breakfast was great. And it was quiet. My favorite thing! Will go back!
Checked out of this hotel last weekend and had higher expectations given the $300+ nightly price and the Ascend Hotels brand.I really feel this hotel would be better advertised under a different brand. According to Choice Hotels' Website, "Historic, boutique and one of a kind—these are the qualities you can expect from our Ascend Hotel Collection® portfolio. Ascend® hotels are woven into the culture and fabric of their communities, featuring art and amenities that put local flavor first. And our greatest specialty? Helping you explore what makes your destination different."This is more of a run of the mill Comfort Inn/Best Western and is showing it's age, although it's still not a horrible place to stay. The rooms are large, mine had two bathrooms and a large living area, although each of the bathrooms are tiny, almost zero counter space. The website shows a bathroom with 2 shower heads, one of which is a waterfall shower head, although our bathrooms only had one shower head.Additionally the hotel is having serious plumbing issues with toilets that barely drained, even with nothing in them, and the showers had a very slow drain rate and caused the water to pool up on the shower floor. The employees at this hotel where very hard working and the hotel put 3-4 people on to help with the extremely busy breakfast. This is part of the reason I raised my review from 2 to 3 stars. The hotel really needs to also look at the size of the breakfast area compared to the size of the hotel. When we where there it was way too crowded, although it was on a busy Saturday morning.
Wonderful hotel! These rooms have two full bathrooms, full kitchen, and the easiest access to the beach ever. Exceptionally clean, with a breakfast, continental style every day along with clam chowder and homemade cookies at 5 PM in the lobby. Wonderful pool area and outside grill and eating area for the fireplace. So fun to be there with the family and our dog. She’s room smells great and we’re very clean.
My annual birthday stay at the Looking Glass was fantastic as always. The room was very clean and the maid service checked in with me each day to check if I needed anything. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
I have stayed here multiple times over the years and have always had a great experience. The rooms are comfortable and clean. I have stayed with pets and the staff has been so supportive. The location is great with just an easy, short walk to the beach and to food and groceries. Always my first choice for staying in Lincoln City.
Our stay was amazing! If you have pets, this is a great place! The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The rates were reasonable (stayed in December). The staff were awesome as though they actually enjoy their job:) I’d definitely stay here again!
So nice to return here in the midst of a long roadtrip. Comfortable, familiar, welcoming. A really nice, pet friendly place staffed by kind people. We've been staying here a couple times a year for decades and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. The rooms are clean and there are several very comfortable chairs to sit in while gazing out the windows. A favorite place!
Great stay at the Looking Glass again. They were so helpful when it came to small things like borrowing roasting sticks to make some smores. Room was clean and comfortable. Only draw back was some loud vehicles cruising during the evening (or looking for parking) on a busy weekend. We love our visits here and we will be back!
Great location, very helpful staff, and clean rooms. A great place to bring your pets (a special pet package for you when you arrive!) as the beach is just across the street for long walks. Most of the rooms have a view of Siletz Bay. The breakfast bar has a typical, nice variety of offerings.
A great location, across the street from the beach and Moe's, and a wonderful, clean room with a sweeping view. The boys woke up early to enjoy the Continental breakfast. This is a great place to stay in Lincoln City. AND, it's dog friendly!
What a great location, staff and wonderful rooms with wonderful views! Couldn't be happier or more pleased with this place. This was our 1st visit to this coast location and we've spread the word how convenient it is to crabbing, fishing, kids swimming and agate hunting. Definitely returning!! Oh, and dog friendly, too. Next time our labs will be with us!
This has become our fave place to stay. Clean and comfortable. Great staff. Lovely views. Easy access to the beach. Food and shops within walking distance. They provide a lot of extras for kids and pets. Nice propane fire pit, crab cleaning station, pet area.
My wife and I loved our stay here. It was perfect for a quick and quiet beach weekend. We will definitely stay here again! The room was nice especially for the price we paid. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is perfect!
I love it! I’ll definitely be back. The room is homey and clean. I used to work at a hotel so I am super picky about the cleanliness of the rooms and I could not find a flaw. I felt totally comfortable and I loved listening to the waves. I should have checked the location beforehand, though, as it is right next to a super busy public beach and restaurant. I had no issue with this, but it did lead to a little extra traffic noise. Nothing that bothered me and it quieted down well before I went to bed.
Y'all this is the cutest place ever. Very dog friendly and the beds are fantastic. Room 215 great view.. great bathtub.. go on book it for a weekend it will do you good. The nicest front desk and the best customer service there is. Great location to enjoy and close to everything.
We stayed here for a couple of nights. In addition to being a great place to stay near the beach, the facility seems to have thought of all the little things to make people feel at home - beach toys for kids, a grassy area for pets to do their business, an outdoor place to cook crabs, and a ‘hose off’ area for people to rinse their shoes and feet after the beach. Highly recommended, and we will definitely return.
Haven't been here in 15 years so decided to try it for our 15th wedding anniversary. Staff checking in was super nice. The beds are uncomfortable, the fire place didn't turn off even with off switch so kept coming on all night so had to sleep with window open to hear people digging through trash at Moe's and the hotel, no A/C in the room just a box fan. The stairs are literally 10-12 inches in depth and pretty steep so have to be careful coming up and down then, our dog was petrified of the stairs. The bathroom fan was so loud you could here it outside and I thought the shower water was going to throw me through the wall. Parking is super tight especially with a truck. Great location though, gift basket with supplies for dog and a couple of Hershey kisses with a Happy Anniversary note. It was a decent stay, not the worst not the best. We'll probably try somewhere else next time though.
