I absolutely love this inn. I have a piece of land up in beddington and booked this inn just under 2 hours away.Everything was impeccable. Private balcony, beautiful large room, the grounds are beautifully manicured, fire pit, great free breakfast. This place can’t be beat in this area. Very reasonable pricing as well. A wonderful staff just made this a fantastic experience!
This place is a quiet, beautiful serene getaway with an indoor saltwater pool hot tub fitness center complementary full hot breakfast. The staff are absolutely lovely and the setting in the woods is just so picturesque. I want to move right in.
Loved our 3 night stay here! The room was spacious with a couch and table in an adjoining seating area and had a small terrace of it. The pool and spa were very nice. The breakfast offered all the usual items but added egg sandwiches, hard boiled and a good selection of fresh fruit. We really missed those as we moved on to other locations for 2 nights each.Camden is a great place to visit. Be sure to check out the restaurants down by the harbor.I highly recommend The Country Inn!!!
We really liked the cottage. It's nice to have privacy and space. It's only a short walk to the main building. There is a parking space for each cottage; we were able to fit both our (compact) cars. They have a complementary breakfast with bagels, waffles, breakfast sandwiches, fruit & cereal. We ended up here on a rainy weekend, so the pool and hot tub were a lifesaver. A few downsides: the heat pump did a poor job keeping the place warm. The headboard on the bed wasn't installed correctly, it kept banging against the wall. They need to install night lights. Would be nice if they included real coffee creamer and better quality coffee. The included coffee was revolting. Luckily there's a Hannaford across the street for supplies and a fridge. Great place to stay, definitely would recommend!
I've been going here for years, since before the new owner took over in 2018. Hands down, my favorite place to stay any time of the year. Convenient location, clean, friendly, large property to walk around, there's a dog park you can walk to if you are traveling with pets. On nice days, you can walk right into Camden and avoid trying to find parking. Breakfast is better than any other place I have stayed. They have REAL food- home baked goods, waffles with real maple syrup, breakfast sandwiches made fresh in the morning, and more. The last few times I have gone, they have done a lot of work to improve/upgrade things around the property, which is nice to see. It is easy to see how much love and care this owner and staff put in to make it a wonderful experience for guests. I look forward to my next visit!
I live locally I’ve been using it the spa and pool for years. Ive also had family stay here. The rooms are what you would expect for a “country inn”, think grandma’s kitchen. They have recently made some much-needed updates to the lobby, hot tub and fitness area. My only real issue with them is their attitude towards locals who pay good money to use their amenities. If you don’t want locals using your pool, close it to locals, like the samoset did but I’m sure it brings in a substantial amount of money, so they don’t want to do that. It cost $20 to take my child swimming for an hour, I spend a couple hundred dollars a month here throughout the winter. My daughter is 14 years old and I have never let her use the hot tub because of the rule- no one under 16. I’ve seen them holler at other kids and want no part of that. The older ladies at the front desk I found to be very rude, I asked a question about getting a membership, she was so rude and short, definitely not getting a membership. The difference in how they speak to their guests versus locals is wild, we are both paying customers. This isn’t just my opinion. Anytime it comes up I hear the same thing from other locals, maybe it’s their way of getting rid of us, if they treat us like naughty teenagers we’ll just stop coming and it’s working.
This was our first stay here despite visiting the Camden area many time. Our room was spacious, clean and well equipped. The gas fireplace made it warm and cozy. The free continental breakfast was a great start to our day...the coffee was excellent. We didn't take advantage of the other amenities but the pool looked inviting.
We loved this place. The hotel is a 5 min drive from Main Street with all the restaurants, pubs, and shopping. Our room was large, comfortable, well furnished, and toasty with a fireplace and a balcony. The bathroom was spotless. They have a well equipped gym and a large swimming pool that seemed to be popular with the guests. There's a firepit behind the building as well surrounded by Adirondack chairs, which would be great to hang out in the summer.
Loved our time here. Beautiful spot, great atmosphere. Staff are very friendly. Continental breakfast is one of the best we've had in a while; simple and delicious (including waffles with quality, real maple syrup!). Cool fire pit outside to sit around. Cozy, clean room.
Quintessential New England inn with all the amenities you would expect from a big hotel chain. Everything looked well kept up and possibly recently painted or renovated. I appreciated the charming aesthetic and friendly, cozy vibe. Beds were comfortable, rooms clean, kids loved the salt water pool and adults loved the hot tub. outdoor fire pit was also so cozy. Breakfast was fairly standard except for the local Maine syrup which was outstanding. Would love to visit again. Completely charmed!
Really lovely Inn in a great location. Extremely hospitable staff, great breakfast options (don't miss the maple syrup from their local family farm!), and extremely dog-friendly. As of now, the rooms have older AC units and refrigerators that can sometimes be loud and aren't very efficient, which is my only minor gripe. We needed to turn the fridge to the max to keep anything cool and the freezer box didn't really work. The bedroom area was stuffy and were warm at night. We wished we had brought a fan as the room configuration is awkward and traps cool air in the sitting area. However, our room opened to the grassy playground, fire pit, and patio accessible directly from a slider in the back sitting area, which was really nice because we were able to take the dog outside without having to go through the hallway/lobby or many doors repeatedly. The Inn kindly supplied a dog bed, treats, bowls, and plenty of waste bags. Most guests with pets were mutually respectful about following leash rules and picking up after their pets but there are always a few people that must ruin it for others -- thankfully after mentioning something hotel staff quickly stepped in and addressed the situation. Julie and Will were both particularly kind and helpful. We thank the staff again for everything and really look forward to returning soon!
We stayed in room 151 and it was beautiful and spacious. The upgrades were wonderful and it was quiet. The inside pool was nice. The people at the front desk were so friendly.
I have been staying here for 20+ years. We decided to go for a long weekend with multiple families because of the indoor pool.As a pool owner, I know how to maintain a pool and what the water should look like. We showed up, and the water was green. All 11 of us got sick.Called up The Elmwood Resort to let them know about our experience, and we got a "thank you". That's it.All good things come to an end. We won't be back.
We were also scammed by their cancellation policy!!! The manager Scott DeFelice is arrogant & heartless. A money hungry crook that has no place in the hospitality industry. We were forced to go so we didn't lose $1,000 for 4 nights. There are RULES everywhere. No bike riding on the property?? We were stuck in a dark corner unit that looked out to a fence. The furniture was uncomfortable and the bed rock hard. There are so many better places to stay and will NEVER go back. We ended up leaving 2 days early. Worst vacation experience ever. Calling BBB on the Bait and switch cancellation policy. Maybe they can knock some sense into Mr. DeFlice and teach him how to do his job correctly. Before he runs the place into the ground with his hard nose policies and rules.
Beware of these scammers! I booked a room at this resort and subsequently had to cancel my booking. The deceitful and misleading cancellation policy led med to believe I would be entitled to a refund at the time of cancellation which was one month prior to the date booked and only 72 hours after the initial booking. The rude staff would only offer me a “gift card “ which is valid only for the resort! I was clearly robbed of my hard earned vacation money and scammed by deceiving policies! Choose wisely and stay away!
We loved our 2 bedroom 2 bath condo. Clean kitchen all the dishware and kitchen utincilles we needed. Quiet location with a lovely park area with kids activities and outdoor movies. Two swimming pools and an area for families to visit outdoors.Staff is exceptional, friendly,Helpful and grounds are beautiful. I am returning in the fall for another stay.Costbis very reasonable for couples or families.Linda from Milford NH
My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Elmwood Hotel in Maine. The beds were comfortable, the room was absolutely stunning and the kitchen came with a bunch of appliances that I wouldn't see in another hotel. The bathrooms were fresh in stocked, came with their own soap and provided towels and washcloths for you. I loved how my suite had an upstairs bathroom, I really appreciated that...I also liked on how the hotel came with grills as-well. As if I wanted to grill or something. I loved the location and how you can walk to the beach if you wanted to..The condo is very sturdy and nothing was uneven or loose. When I walked into the condo I was very surprised on how it looked. Nice recliner couch, nice beds, nice everything. As I walked inside the bathroom I saw how fancy it was inside the bathroom.10/10 stay. I loved it.
The 2 bedroom condos are very nice, very clean but the beds were like sleeping on cement blocks. I've had back spasms all week from sleeping on one for 2 nights. I suggest bring a very thick mattress topper. There is no elevator,so if you are disabled like me, it's very difficult. All 2 bedroom condos are on the 2nd floor. Walls are very thin. Woken up both mornings by 7am from the people next door. Sounded like they were moving furniture.
The rooms were very pleasant, and staff was wonderful. The fitness center is not in good condition, though. The lights and fans weren't all working, and I had to climb up on top of a wobbly machine to turn on the AC unit because the room was stiflingly hot.
This place is beautiful! The rooms were great, and the location is perfect. Just to point out, each room is decorated differently, and Housekeeping only cleans your room before and after your stay and will not come in during your stay. The rooms are like a little home near the beach. Interesting that this place still has actual metal keys to open the door. The pool was warm, and they also have a laundry mat here. They give you plenty of towels in the rooms and extra linen in the closet if so needed.
Great Indoor Pool with late hours. Nice rooms with privacy features( we rented a 2 floor 2 bedroom townhouse, 1 room on each floor) and a private porch area to sit outdoors. The front desk girl; Lena was Extremely sweet and very knowledgeable as well! Will definitely be staying here again!!
