We had a exceptional good stay here. the people are wonderful and truly care about making sure you had a good stay. We had a little hiccup but it was taken care of, and quite frankly you could tell that it was important to them that all was well. The breakfast? OVER THE TOP. We will stay there again.
Very nice and quite cozy place to stay after visiting vineyards of the Finger Lakes area.Rooms are very clean and nicely decorated, common areas have their own charm, and the breakfast time, thanks to Nate, is joyful and delicious.
Had a wonderful stay at The Sutherland Victorian B&B in Canandaigua. The house is well located, beautiful, and welcoming. The room was breathtaking, well appointed, and exceptionally clean. A special shout out to Nate who served up a delicious and memorable breakfast during our stay. Will definitely make it our home away from home the next time we visit the Finger Lakes! Highly recommend staying here!
Beautiful bed and breakfast, very clean, friendly staff, lots of extra thoughtful touches like writing supplies or forgotten toiletries. We would stay again when in the area.
The breakfast each day was amazing. It was like having a 5-course meal every day for breakfast that included dessert. My wife and I also enjoyed the common area where we were able to enjoy talking with other guests. We will definitely be back.
Absolutely beautiful home, wonderfully decorated for the holidays. I took my wife here for a night away after a hectic fall, and it was so enjoyable. Close to everything via a short drive and every need was met. The breakfast courses were AMAZING and just added to the cozy vibe of the entire experience. Thank you!
We had an absolute wonderful and cozy stay at the Sutherland House! The hosts were so friendly and communicative. The room was just the way it looked on the site and the breakfast was amazing! Such a charming stay. We explored the downtown area and all the little shops but loved being able to come back to the bnb especially since the weather was rainy. Highly recommend staying here!
The rooms are spacious. Mine had a gas fireplace and sitting area with a 2 person hottub. The breakfast was enormous and delicious! I look forward to staying there again soon!
A great B&B! The room was comfortable and the service terrific. Breakfast was fresh made and very good. And it's close to Canadaigua, where we did some shopping. It was a celebration of our 41st wedding anniversary, and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. We'll be back for sure.
Was a great trip. House is beautiful Victorian style. Out on a country road. Close to CMAC but not close enough to walk. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle of a concert night. Sam, Maria, Paul and staff were excellent.
The decorations and attention to detail at Sutherland House left a great impression from the start. I found it stunning, easily in the top 5% of places I have stayed. The staff was friendly and pleasant (they baked a gluten free banana bread just for me and insisted I take some home), the room was beautiful and our private bathroom even more so. If you can afford the sticker price, you won't be disappointed.
Gorgeous B&B , absolutely perfect place to get away from the real world. Sam&Maria very so welcoming starting with check in,during the stay so responsive and accommodating! It was a staycation but it felt like a trip to back in a history ! Very convenient location as well away enough for peace and quiet but close enough to all you need dining, shopping and scenic views of the nature, town and the lake! Breakfast was absolutely delicious several courses-breakfast outstanding I almost asked for recipes, but was too shy to. It is a Gem to say the least ! Wishing owners all the best! You can see and feel everything done with care and love!
Wonderful Bed and Breakfast. Sam and Maria were very welcoming and made checking in easy. It was very close to lake and downtown with lots of great shops and restaurants. They also have helpful guide to local eateries. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was delicious and they were very accomodating for my allergies. We learned some interesting historical facts about the house as well while we were there. We were there for a wedding but definitely a perfect couples getaway. We'll definitely stay again when we're next in the area.
We had a wonderful visit at Sutherland Bed and Breakfast. We were in the area for wine touring. The house is charming, and rooms were clean and welcoming! The staff is very kind. Breakfast was amazing...three beautiful courses. Would definitely stay here again.
We've been wanting to stay at Sutherland House for quite a while and we're glad we finally did! (We stayed the last weekend of October 2022). The house is located very close to Canandaigua and the Victorian architectural details are beautiful. We had a warm and welcome greeting upon arrival and enjoyed the cozy comfort of our room. Our hosts were always available if we needed their assistance. We stayed two nights and the breakfasts just got better as we stayed - the parfait and breakfast pizza were especially delicious. We'll definitely be back again!
Outstanding Victorian B&B inside and out! So well kept and beautifully decorated! Clean! Each breakfast was cooked perfectly, we enjoyed every course. There were even fresh baked cookies daily for us to enjoy. Faye & Bob were perfect hosts, so kind and knowledgeable. We most definitely will be returning! ♥️
My fiancé (now wife) and I stayed at the Sutherland House last summer during a birthday weekend getaway. The pictures truly cannot do justice to this beautiful house and picturesque property. Our room was pristine and cozy, and Bob and Faye certainly made us feel like welcomed guests throughout our stay. The amenities were outstanding, and the food was nothing short of exquisite! Every morning was a delightful surprise to find out what culinary masterpieces would be coming out from the kitchen that day! If you’re in the area and looking for an idyllic backdrop for a comfortable, welcoming B&B, definitely book with the Sutherland House!
We stayed here last weekend and it was so lovely. The grounds were beautiful, lots of tables and gardens to enjoy and relax. The house was located close enough to the center of Canandaigua for when wanting to take part in town activities or go to restaurants, yet far enough away to enjoy a peaceful atmosphere. Our room was cozy - a super comfortable bed and spacious bathroom with jacuzzi. We were most impressed with the little details - anything you needed was available in the room, or in the hallway (water, fridge, fresh baked cookies, additional coffee). And the gourmet breakfast was delicious. Bob and Faye are a great team, and it's a very special place!
Nothing bad can really be said about this hotel. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars for service and rooms is as follows. The fitness center is not even close to adequate unless you just want to walk slowly on a treadmill or do some biking. It really needs (at minimum) a set of dumbells and a weight bench. Now the rooms are nice and clean. But I really wish they would upgrade the TVs to something I can either cast my phone to or enter my streaming services codes into. The local TV wasn't horrible. But cable doesn't cut it when your used to streaming. These 2 things may not matter to you. But as much as I travel for work. These are very important to me and I'm sure alot of other travellers.
I LOVE this hotel. From the moment I walked into the hotel. Warm and welcoming. Our room is clean and housekeeping did an amazing job. I will be coming here from now on. ❤️
Everything was great. The staff was so welcoming and polite. Will definitely use Hampton inn again in our travels. I wasn't sure why there was an extra $50. ,charge on my credit card since I pre paid but it may have been charged until the room was inspected after we checked out.
I had a nice stay. I was given a very nice room. It was comfortable. The internet never worked though. I went downstairs and the clerk said it was out and she would call and to check back in an hour. I was never able to get online. Same with the next morning. It wasn't a big deal, and might have been completely out of the property's control. But I would stay here again as I found the room clean and the staff was very helpful and nice.
This is a well-run hotel. The staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable. Too hard to find this type of service nowadays. I would recommend staying here.
Amazing hotel. In so much better shape than the other identically priced hotels near the airport. Great bathroom, pool was open, everything was clean and did not look worn. Will book here every trip to Elmira/Corning.
What a great experience! The staff is super-friendly. Make you feel like close friends or family. The rooms were clean. The beds comfortable. And location fantastic.I travel a lot and stay in mostly Hilton properties when I can. This is definitely one of my favorites.
The hotel and property were clean and well kept. Check in/check out were quick and easy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The coffee maker in our room was broken and the pipes were noticeably loud and creaky when you turned on the sink or shower. The pillows are a little on the firm side for me but honestly, these were only minor inconveniences and didn’t majorly impact our stay. The complimentary breakfast was good! They had a good variety of bagels, breads, muffins, etc. They even had make-your-own waffles. Honestly, it was one of the nicest complimentary breakfasts I’ve had at a hotel. All in all, we had a very pleasant stay and this place is a nice hotel for a good price!
Our stay was great! Not only was the room clean, but every employee we interacted with was nice & had a positive attitude. Pet friendly & quiet area. Close to shopping and restaurants was a plus.
