My husband and I stayed at the Inn at Perkins Cove for the first time this past weekend with two of our friends. Our whole experience exceeded our expectations. We communicated with Norman via text message before meeting him in person at breakfast our first morning at the Inn. He made us feel very welcomed while we were there. The rooms were very cozy and clean, and our bed was very comfortable! The Inn provided beach chairs and towels for us, so it was nice to not have to worry about bringing those. The location is a very short walk to Perkins Cove, which was just what we were looking for. There is a wonderful restaurant right at the Inn and breakfast is provided with your stay. The food exceeded our expectations - some of the best breakfast meals we have had in a very long time. We also sat out by the fire pit and enjoyed cocktails one night which was nice. We look forward to returning here in the future!
I stayed here back in July using gift cards I was gifted during Covid and some of my own money. When I got there the inn keeper didn’t know how to give me back credit since the room had to be held on my credit card so I said don’t worry to the flustered girl we will get it figured out, by the time I left it wasn’t figured out. Then 5 months go by of phone tag with this new owner saying how sorry he is, it’s busy season, he sees I’m owed the money and he is mailing a check. 2 weeks go by and no check so I call again and he apologizes and says he will look into it, then the day before Christmas I get a text saying I am not owed anything but they will send a gift card for $15, not the $240 I’m owed. I called back after the holidays and was told if I can show the gift cards “which they took” then I can get it back. For 6 months you led me on, led me to believe that I would get the money back, it was over $240 which is a lot. I trusted your word and was nice and patient for 6 months for you to pull that on me. You even told me the exact amount that I was owed at one point, over the phone unfortunately. It’s not even that you are a small business struggling, you own multiple inns in Ogunquit. I used to love this place when it was owned by the old owners, they were just amazing but this new owner should be ashamed of himself. Mind you this, when I booked my vacation here it was still with the original owners and there was no talk of change in ownership, an email was sent out a month before my stay announcing it, long after it had booked. My gift cards should of been honored no matter what they were and I should of been given back my money.
Room so spacious airy and comfortable. Location is good close to restaurants and the beach. My husband and I love to walk and explore perfect location to do this. Breakfast was delicious too!
The website says (Note: In the Spring of 2022, we are undergoing renovations, so room colors, furnishings, and decor may be different from pictured until we are able to update pictures online.) I called to see what the rooms look like now. No one answers the phone. The voicemail is a voicemail for five guest houses. So if someone calls any of these five guest houses, no one is going to answer. I thought this was a fluke, so I tried back, and tried back and tried back over a couple hours. No answer, and no call back. The voice of the voicemail did call me back three hours later. He was nice and professional. He indicated he is the only person running all five entities listed on the voicemail. He said they've just purchased Hartwell House Inn. When I noted the website about renovations, he said yes the rooms have changed, he said "they are more modern." I waited for more specifics, he said they are "comfortable, well furnished." I laughed, I said "you don't sound very enthusiastic." Thats when he said he runs all five places so he was a bit distracted. I ended up liking him. But for now you're not going to know what the rooms look like and you're not going to be able to get a hold of them if you want to know anything about the place. Since they are renovating, I would think people will need to contact the place by phone for clarification. People are booking them anyway though, so maybe it's a regulars kind of place.
This B&B may be lovely as others have indicated. However, the management's customer service is attrocious. I wanted to make a resv for my husband and me but had some questions which required answers first. I left a message on the website last week which went unanswered, and yesterday I left a voicemail message with a callback number, but again no response. I know they have rooms available for the dates we were considering, but evidently they are not courteous enough to respond. Not really sure that I would want to stay at a place like that.
Nice big room with sitting area, comfortable bed and pillows. Good size bath. Breakfast was a little lacking but probably due to COVID. Didn’t care for the egg sandwich. Great location walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants, Ungunquit playhouse, Perkins Cove, marginal way. A pretty far walk to the beach.
Fantastic gem nestled in the outskirts of Augusta Maine. This was the experience so many places claim to have but fall short. I only wish we had booked for a longer stay
We've got a warm welcome by the hotel owners. They showed us around and introduced the cat.The room was so quiet, and I slept very well. The shower is huge. The breakfast is outstanding and awesome. The hotel has solar panels and a charger for electric vehicles. We felt VERY well during our stay. We recommend this hotel. If we should return to this area near Augusta one day we would come back to this hotel for sure.
We recently had my Aunt's 80th Birthday Celebration at Maple Hill Farm. The Conference Center is modern with wonderful track lighting, a fireplace and soft subtle colors with lots of windows. There was a lovely bar with inspired cocktails and the lunch buffet was so good. The vegetable soup was the best I've ever had in my 62 years of living. The staff were both accomadating and attentive without hovering. The acoutics were great! Well Done to all! My Aunt is still raving about how beautiful everything was. We'll be back!
Our experience at Maple Hill Farm Inn could not have been better. This is a truly exceptional property--an inn that maintains the charm, character, and personal touches reminiscent of the way New England inns used to be--but with modern amenities like a hot tub and sauna. Maple Hill Inn is a true rarity in the 21st century.
A beautiful, quaint Maine farmhouse bed and breakfast which bests the stiff New England Inn competition. The proprietors are professional, attentive and friendly. The rooms are well appointed and tech friendly. The Inn focuses on comfort while being environmentally conscious. The freshly prepared breakfast was spectacular and there were desserts available in the communal fridge at all hours. The Inn featured outdoor amenities with a rocking chair porch, a hot tub and a sauna. The owners are well versed in local history and are good local site and restaurant guides. My stay at the Inn was one leg in a cross Maine site seeing vacation but I'm already considering a future booking just to enjoy the Inn and nearby downtown Hallowell. I would recommend that those interested in booking a stay at the Inn, do so in June or July to take advantage of sturgeon spawning season in the Kennebec River. Sitting along the river in Hallowell and watching the sturgeon jump is an experience worth the trip.
The Maple Hill Farm Bed & Breakfast Inn and Conference Center provided a wonderful experience for a meeting my organization hosted there. It is located in a lovely area of Maine. The staff is attentive to your needs, and kept in constant touch regarding the meeting prior to the date to make sure all details were covered. The conference room was spacious with lots of natural light, and the guest rooms were very clean and well kept. The food served at the meeting was very good, as was the service. The Maple Inn is also environmentally concerned and is a "green" venue. I highly recommend the Inn for hosting a meeting or to get away.
We booked a room at the inn for my dad and his fiancee when they came up to Maine to visit us and it was such a wonderful experience! Scott and Vince offer a very customized stay and are attentive to every need. And the inn is absolutely beautiful! It was just the peaceful retreat we were looking for. We'll definitely be recommending it to any family and friends that visit us in the future.
Beautiful grounds, cozy, clean rooms, and spectacular service. Scott and Vince are the nicest hosts and I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get away from the busy life. Close enough to shops for it to not be inconvenient, but tucked away enough to offer peace and tranquility. We will definitely be back!
The ABSOLUTE most Perfect B & B! A little Gem hidden away in Hallowell/Augusta Maine, everything a traditional B & B should be and more. We stayed here for our Anniversary this weekend and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect getaway! We were made to feel like extended family and not just paying guests. Upon arrival we had an in depth, very well articulated introduction to the B & B explaining many perks of the B & B and the long standing history which was very much appreciated, for it is a more personal experience when you are rich in knowledge concerning where you are staying (which is the epitome of a true B & B experience). We had the room with the jet tub and fireplace and it was perfect. Breakfast was amazing, full bar open until late in the evening, common kitchen with yummy desserts included. Historic, clean, friendly, felt like a home away from home! Will definitely be back! TY Scott for a most amazing, memorable experience!
