This was such a relaxing and enjoyable stay.We loved the natural limestone and wooden beams of the lobby. We spent a lot of time in the lobby having s'mores from the fireplace Because of the rain. We played checkers, sat with friends, and just visited with others in the main area. When we first got a room, there was an odd smell coming from the mini fridge and my husband told management. They came and checked it out and moved us to an even nicer room. When we told them our coffee pot wasn't making coffee as hot as we wanted, the brought us a brand new one.The river felt like being in nature. It was so peaceful under all the trees and in the shade. My toddler loved the little pool with toys, the sandy beach, and playground. My husband and 10 year old enjoyed the big green slide. If you aren't going to valet just be aware that the parking lot is large and can get full so you may be doing a lot of walking.

Unfortunately this place is very dated and needs a major upgrade!... not enough kid activities to support our kids curiosity it would have also been nice if they had something extra for adults besides just a spa...

My experience during my stay has not been good. Issues started day one at check in. The manager Chris was attending to us. Our booking and payment had been taking care off before our arrival. At checking in they asked for our credit car (as any hotel do just in case you charge something to the room). He proceeded to charge my credit card without letting me know. He charged the whole amount of my 4 day stay, which had already been payed for. The lack of communication and professionalism when fixing his mistake was disappointing. I would not recommend to stay here. For being a resort that charges $450+ a night they fail to handle their business correctly our to make amends to their customer’s. Also, they fail to do housekeeping if you don’t request it in advance.

Came with husband and our almost 3.5 year old daughter as a “last trip as a family of three” before new baby comes. Our girl requested the beach and this was the perfect alternative. Little sandy area with beach toys and chairs for the parents right along the lazy river.Drinks/ mocktails served like you’re at a regular resort. The slide was a huge hit for all of us and we had to have done it 20+ times!Rooms were newly redone, the beds were comfortable and we loved the suite! Wish it had a microwave since we’d have left overs from dinner each night.Older building so you can hear your neighbors or people in the halls. Luckily our section was pretty quiet.Warning!!! If you’re a foodie this may not be the place for you. We ate at every place to eat except the fancy restaurant because we didn’t really enjoy anything and didn’t want to risk those prices on average food.Warning #2!! Do not order the room service pizza. It was inedible. Worse than cafeteria from elementary. All in all it was such a fun family trip and had plenty to do.

Our family of four, consisting of mom, dad, 3 and 5 year old had an amazing time at this resort from June 10 to June 14 2024. We stayed in rooms 2018-2020. I wanted to express my gratitude to everyone there. Everyone (and I mean everyone) we came in contact with was phenomenal, true professionals and people who love their profession. Our children were so happy, my wife had a great time and as a consequence I did too. I put the details of my stay because I’m sure Hyatt management can track the Front Desk Attendant, our Housekeeping lady, our restaurant servers, etc. they all made our stay so pleasant and unforgettable. The rooms were spacious, clean, everything in working order. The facilities were spot on. Breakfast was delicious and filling. There is plenty of seating, shade both at seating areas and throughout the pool and lazy river, most places I’ve stayed at shade and seating is limited, but not here, it was one of my favorite things about this resort (you don’t have to hunt/fight for good spots). The playground, bikes (they have for all ages, including little ones with training wheels), S’mores, feeding birds, pool, lazy river and slide kept all of us busy 🙂 I just love this place, and for a family with little kids, this a great option.

When you arrive at a resort, first impressions are everything. They truly set the tone for your stay. Our valet, Sebastian greeted us so warmly and was very helpful. Since we arrived late at night, he was also the one to help us with our luggage. He truly made us feel like we were the only ones he was attending, yet he was attending 2 other people. Check-in was smooth. Our room was very clean and comfortable as well! Pool and lazy river were clean. There’s a sand area for the kids. They have a couple of sand toys the kids are able to use. But most of them are broken. Overall, this has been a great stay so far!

The lobby was being renovated while I was there so I don't have much to say about the interior common space. The stuff was very friendly and accommodating. Likewise I didn't really eat any of the food except what was catered at our conference. That food was pretty good though.Everything was very clean. The room was clean, the meeting rooms were clean and the restrooms were clean. The pool was nice. I didn't experience much of the activities but there seem to be a lot and it seemed to be very family friendly.

Stunning grounds and lovely renovation.Sadly there are a couple issues:1. The insulation between rooms is non-existent especially in adjoining rooms. You can literally hear every word of a normal volume conversation and everything else that happens in a hotel room.2. For a Hyatt Regency I was disappointed in the rooms service presentation. It was delivered in a plastic to-go bag and all disposable packaging. Bath robes would have been an appropriate touch in the rooms as well considering the resort atmosphere and balcony appointments.I know there is probably little to be done about the room-to-room noise at this point but I do hope the other touches can be improved upon to elevate this to a luxury hill country experience.

The ambiance is great. The staff was great. The rooms were clean... BUT... The AC couldn't get the room to the designated temperature, even the hallway was cooler. The toilet paper was weaker than tissue paper. There was no microwave. And there were no trash bags in the trash cans.

The Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and SPA is everything you expect in a luxury hotel and more. By more, I mean a relaxing retreat to South Texas nature. Beautiful oak tree groves and birds of many of the native species you will not find at any other hotel. There is even 8 am wildlife feeding outside SpringHill Cafe. Though not all water amenities were open in winter, there were heated pools and Hottubs available. In the summer this place will be kicking. There were a few problems with my 1st room, but the front desk staff were quick to fix them. They were definitely some of the best trained and helpful staff I have ever had the pleasure to work with. The hotel employees a large number of people to maintain grounds and help customers. Thus, though the resort is expensive, you are supporting the local employment in San Antonio and can expect the finest service. Edgardo was a good example of someone who helped me explore the amenities, which are some of the best I have seen. With just about every amenity possible, including water park, golf course, fine restaurants/bars, spa, and tennis courts, this resort has it all. With beautiful surroundings, great amenities, and wonderful service, this hotel is a must try while in San Antonio.

Our family has enjoyed staying at this resort, making this place our go to stay when in San Antonio. What makes this place different is the location and employees. The location feels like you are away from the city, it’s quiet and don’t hear the busy freeway, but you are only a few minutes drive from dining and entertainment. The employees have always been very helpful and courteous. But the main difference is the valet department. Any other hotel, most of the times has taken a long time to get your vehicle and also the employees seem happy to be here. They are the one of the first people you see entering the hotel and one of the last, and makes up the atmosphere for your stay. During this last stay Luis was very helpful in accommodating us. We were at a golf tournament and he was understanding to our situation. I also want to mention security, they make you feel welcomed and don’t intimidate you when you come up to a secured gate. Overall, this resort will continue to be our go to stay. Thank you all for making this place welcoming.

Very comfortable stay at this Hyatt. The grounds were gorgeous, a bit overwhelming at first, but so nice. Restaurants on site were great, we visited the breakfast place in the main building and Antlers. Food was very good. Lots of good options for vegetarians, not so much for Vegans. Loved that the gym was open 24 hrs, loved the smore station at nights, and loved that you can check out bikes on site.

Rooms are a bit out dated and thin walls. Service and club house are amazing. Golf course is decent. Fairways and greens need some loving. I understand why golf cart path only, but that really slows down pace of play.

Enjoyed our stay and play golf experience. Friendly and accommodating staff. Cart path only golf was not a pleasure. If you are a walker, choose to walk if weather good. Fun and challenging course. Rooms in desperate need of an update. Resturant food was very good but bartender could not make a simple whiskey source. I paid for two bad ones.

We have enjoyed staying at Tapatio for years now. The views are beautiful and the golf course is in good shape, making it a great place to stay. It is in a great location for visiting other towns and state parks and of course the scenic hill country! The staff was very helpful and courteous and the service was excellent. Thank you for making our stay memorable.

We visited Tapatio Springs for the first time this weekend. We absolutely loved the place. The pool was still warm enough to swim in late Oct, and the hot tub was really relaxing. My wife and I enjoyed walking all around the property and near the creek. The rooms were slightly older but have been updated very tastefully recently and they had a great, cozy feeling that we enjoyed.Of course it wasn't perfect, we had a few minor complaints. We stayed on the first floor, and the air conditioner unit just outside our patio was loud at night when it first started up. Next time we will ask for a second floor room. The shower head was partially clogged from hard water so it sprayed water on the tile wall which ran down onto the bathroom floor. You could see water damage to the door trim. The bathroom was nice and large, and the water damage didn't look bad, but it needs to be fixed. Finally, we ate at the restaurant there. The outdoor patio is beautiful and the live music was really great! We definitely enjoyed the entertainment. Prices at these kinds of restaurants are always kind of high, but I thought it was excessive. We ordered a 12oz New York strip steak ($44) which came with one side. We got the asparagus as a side and were given 6 pieces. The extra side we ordered was a baked potato, which tasted great with the toppings, but was a very small potato. Even splitting the steak, with an extra side, small salad, and 2 waters plus tip was $85. The steak was good but not exceptional (something you'd buy at H-E-B for $12).Overall, we definitely enjoyed Tapatio Springs and will go back. The location and facilities are beautiful and all the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Just those minor gripes with the Air Conditioner noise and cost of restaurant meals.

Absolutely fantastic service. April Glenn is a diamond in the rough. Her customer service was not only accommodating, she was friendly, courteous and went above and beyond. April, Cheyenne, and the rest of the staff at Tapatio Springs made my stay 5-stars. If you are in the area - or even close - stay here. The grounds are beautiful and everything is close enough to feel comfortable and inviting. Thank you for an amazing stay.

FAQs About Resorts for Couples in Texas

What price range can we expect for a stay at a romantic resort in Texas?

Romantic resorts in Texas cater to a wide range of budgets, offering everything from luxurious opulence to cozy, affordable charm. Prices typically range from $150 to $600 per night, varying significantly based on location, amenities, and time of year. High-end resorts often provide exclusive experiences like private dinners or spa treatments, while more modestly priced accommodations still offer romantic settings and comfortable amenities. To get the best value, consider booking packages that include meals, activities, or spa services, and keep an eye out for seasonal promotions or mid-week discounts.

When is the best time to visit a romantic resort in Texas?

The best time to visit romantic resorts in Texas is during the spring (March to May) and fall (September to November). During these months, the weather is most favorable for outdoor activities, with warm days and cool evenings, and the natural scenery is at its most beautiful, with wildflowers blooming in spring and leaves changing color in fall. Summers can be hot, particularly in the southern and western parts of the state, but offer the advantage of off-peak pricing in some areas. Winter, while cooler, can be a cozy time for couples to enjoy indoor amenities and quieter settings.

What amenities are typically offered at romantic resorts in Texas?

Romantic resorts in Texas go above and beyond to create an ambiance of love and relaxation. Guests can typically expect luxurious accommodations with private balconies or patios, on-site dining options that range from casual to fine dining, and specialized romantic touches like in-room fireplaces or jacuzzi tubs. Many resorts also offer exclusive couple’s activities, such as spa treatments, private tours, and outdoor adventures like horseback riding or wine tasting tours. Additionally, these resorts often feature beautiful landscapes, pools, and hot tubs, providing the perfect setting for romance and relaxation.

Are there any special packages available for couples at these resorts?

Yes, many romantic resorts in Texas offer special packages designed specifically for couples looking to enhance their getaway. These packages might include amenities such as champagne on arrival, rose petal turndown service, couple’s massages, or private dinners under the stars. Some resorts also offer adventure packages that include activities like hot air balloon rides, horseback riding, or guided nature hikes. Booking a package can add a memorable and personalized touch to your stay, making it even more special. It’s recommended to check the resort’s website or contact them directly for the latest offers and to customize your experience.

Can romantic resorts in Texas accommodate special occasions like anniversaries or engagements?

Absolutely! Romantic resorts in Texas specialize in making special occasions unforgettable. Many have dedicated teams to help plan and execute the perfect proposal, anniversary celebration, or even a small wedding. Services can include everything from arranging a surprise engagement setup in a secluded spot to organizing a private candlelit dinner to celebrate an anniversary. Resorts often offer customizable packages to make your occasion unique, including decorations, photography services, and special menus. To ensure a personalized experience, it’s best to communicate your plans with the resort in advance, allowing them to tailor the celebration to your exact wishes.
