If you're looking for a very straight forward review here it is:Recently stayed here for two days in May of 2024. Here is what to expect:The plumbing is insanely loud that you have to cover your ears when you flush a toilet, the sink whines as well when you turn it on. They use industrial strength plumbing that seems odd for a 4-star hotel. The valet service is not great at all and in my opinion not worth the 75 dollars every night. Upon arrival, we had to take our own bags upstairs. We also stayed at two different five-star hotels in Atlanta for our trip in addition to this hotel and this was more expensive than the 5-star hotels by a lot. The valet staff was often confused, retrieved cars out of order, and never answered the phone during our 2-3 day stay. We always had to walk down to the valet and request it there. The wait was about 15-20 minutes at times. They need a new valet company. The service was mediocre at best, again, we had to dolly our own bags upstairs on arrival. I would compare it to the likes of a standard Hilton Garden Inn with a valet out front. The rooms, oh the roomss. This hotel has a wonderful lobby and entrance area, but the rooms were in my opinion, a bait and switch. The instant you get on the elevator the quality goes down. The elevator murals are damaged, the elevator flooring looks hastily installed and is not correctly fitted. Everything from the stained benches by the elevator lobbies, the carpet not edged in correctly in the rooms and hallways, peeling wallpaper in the rooms, water damaged bedside tables, TV remotes not working, the bathroom tub fixtures not attached correctly, or the caulking stained coming off of the tub and the room feeling damp and smelling of mildew. The scariest part in my opinion is the outside elevator doors not closing all the way on the 24th floor. When in the elevator lobby of that floor, you can see and hear straight to the outside....on the 24th floor...curious kids stay clear....I know what you are thinking, maybe it was just a bad room or a bad floor. I went and actually got a different room on a different floor and same issues. There is a serious quality control and maintenance issue with this hotel as whole. The only thing this hotel has going for it is the location to the Botanic Gardens and Colony Square. The lobby is a good old bait and switch compared to the rooms. The details truly matter, this is by no means a 4-star hotel. This hotel could have so much potential if the staff and management put in the effort. Your money is better spent elsewhere. We ended up booking into a different hotel instead of extending at the Starling. I highly recommend staying at the Intercontinental in Buckhead or at the Nobu Hotel. It's worth the little bit extra money for the amazing service those hotels provide.
I loved the hotel it was such a vibe. Beautiful decor great for pictures. Great room comfy bed & bedding, clean. My only issue is they take over a month to release your deposit back.
Great front desk service in the lobby and by valet but other than that I don’t think I’d come back. Everything seems nice at first but when you look closer it’s not great. In room telephone didn’t work at all, dirty/stained carpet and couches, tv didn’t work, shower had only lukewarm to cold water, hot tub jets would randomly turn on all night, there’s no where in the restroom to hang your towel or place your toiletries, no shower door or curtain so water splashes everywhere and you’re freezing, the complimentary toiletry dispensers were empty, coffee maker was spitting out dirty water. Not quite the luxury experience I was expecting.
Rooms are nice but I was really getting more of a trap city vibe at the hotel. Parking is $62.00, which is insane. I stayed at this place when it was the Westin or W, can't remember which. It was extremely nice then. Now, a bit used but still a nice place. It won't be my first choice next time. Service from front desk was unpleasant. In a place where parking is $62.00/day, the service should be on par with hotel asking prices. I mean just my opinion ?. Overall I give it a 3.9.
The rooms have horrible bathroom lighting. There was no air condition in the hallways of the hotel. The elevators are extremely slow. The only parking option is valet at $62/day. For that price, I expect to at least be greeted and receive my vehicle promptly. Instead, I waited 20 minutes for my vehicle and wasn’t greeted by valet attendants.I had questions upon check in and the person at the front desk wasn’t knowledgeable and seemed distracted.Rooms are only supposed to be serviced upon request. I did not request service, but upon return to my room, housekeeping had come in. I had food on the desk that was stored in containers and the housekeeping that I didn’t request threw it out. When I checked the invoice emailed to me upon check out, I saw that they charged me $1.50 for a local call. I never used the phone! The hotel is well decorated, but poorly run. It was a much better hotel when it was the W.
We sent our mothers on a "Grandma's Trip". They had a ball. The staff was excellent and very accommodating. Dervin the Concierge was so helpful for my mother and her friend. He truly has a heart for service. Their breakfast waiter was also very helpful and a true gem. They also enjoyed the spa and Jamie and her staff made sure they were relaxed and rejuvenated. They will definitely be back and will bring friends!
Great staff. Super friendly. My room had noise constantly, sounded like pipes banging in the bathroom, possibly ventilation. It was heard in several different rooms (friends heard it too) even at night. I got my room upgraded which helped but it needs looking at.Shower pressure was so low a satisfying shower was not to be had. The windows in my room were dirty. The elevators seemed very unoptimized. The hotel restaurant and lobby were very nice. For the price my expectations are higher and i expected more
I actually was pleasantly surprised by this place. The hotel staff is fantastic. The view was really nice. The decor was cool and my room felt more like a suite than a hotel room. The food was surprisingly good! My room was cleaned every day, which was unexpected. The only reason I give it four stars is because I think I overpaid a little bit. The rates must have been high when I booked.
Clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff, great location, and great bar with live music! Lazarus, our bellman, was awesome! On the downside, the hotel is older and the walls are paper thin so you will hear EVERYTHING going on next door. They’ve done a great job with renovations and decor though so that helps some. Also, someone on our floor smoked marijuana the entire time and the scent permeated our room and belongings. Not really the hotel’s fault but a staff member also noticed the odor but said there wasn’t much he could do to investigate. Overall, it was a decent stay and I would return.
The good: The hotel is pretty inside and the hotel staff are quite professional. The room was very clean (I had a couple towels that were questionable but the rest was EXTRA clean so I think that was a random error) and the views are quite impressive also. The hotel was quiet despite being in an active part of midtown. It's also close to Piedmont if you want a good running location. The bad: The ice machine did not work on my floor (unless it was intended to actually be a noise machine in which case it worked great!) and the safe in my room did not work either. Reasonably small things but in a hotel at this price point, not really acceptable. Also, I don't think the door staff/concierge is very friendly. I don't need a welcome by name every time I come back but being totally ignored seems too far in the other direction. That said, it was just that one team while the rest were quite spectacular.Overall: I recommend it still. For the price, a decent value and you won't regret staying here though I won't claim it's the best hotel I've ever stayed in either.
The Starling Hotel by Hilton is very neat and organized. The Christmas decorations that were set up made the hotel look very beautiful, with the large silver and white tree in the middle They offer valet parking and room service. But, the valet for the car was extremely expensive (given the location- expected). They had several cars lined up and, for some reason, did not move them to the parking garage. Once, we were even told that valet was full and to park the car in a garage close by - they blocked off entrance with cones. But, they eventually let us in after chatting with them.Late check out even for gold members had limited options and comes with a price tag of up to $100 for 3 hours late check outThe restaurant at this hotel is very nice. They even have a bar. Unfortunately, we didn't have a chance to eat there.Location is close to restaurants and very close to the Piedmont Park.We had paid for the room with a view - some good views but definitely not worth the cost.
Great Hotel location and set up but unfortunately it's rusty. It's an old W hotel taken over by Hilton and as you expect they try to squeeze everything out of it without improving anything. Hotel rooms are still good but soon it will fall apart. Front desk staff is pathetic, takes hours to check you out as there are issues with billing. Pandemic is long over yet they have not restored room service. The restaurant and bar staff is the only shinning factor. Looks like they maintained the legacy. Only had breakfast but it was very good. 49 $ for parking sounded outrageous considering it's midtown.
Very nice hotel, the room was spacious and clean. The staff provided great customer service. They have a nice bar downstairs by the lobby. The hotel is located in a great spot, a lot of restaurants and bars near by as well as the main attractions like the aquarium, Coca-Cola world, Stone Mountain. The only reason why I would not give the hotel a 5 stars is due to the parking. You’re pretty much stuck between paying $49 a day for valet parking or paying $44 each time in the public parking garage.
Where to begin? First, this hotel has a very "dark" feeling for the exterior and interior. The outside does not have any signage except a very small sign near the valet station, so it is hard to identify for out-of-town guests. When you enter the lobby, you feel as if you just entered a nightclub. Check-in was fine and the staff were nice. As we entered our room, the AC had been left at 59 degrees. We had to turn on the heater just to warm up the room, which seemed to stay very cold during most of our stay. The bathroom lights are very dim and made it hard to put on make-up. The toilet looked very industrial, very weird! The shower stall floor had mildew stains and only a half door. When you took a shower, water splashed out onto the bathroom floor every time. The sink bowl was shallow and allowed water to splash out unless you kept the water flow to a trickle. For coffee, they only gave us one regular and one decaf even though we had 2 guests in the room. We went to the desk to ask for more coffee, but no one ever brought it to our room. We had to wait until the next morning and get it from the maid service. The decor was cheap and tacky looking in our room. We were part of a larger party staying at the hotel. Many of our family had major issues with noise throughout the night. If you are 30-something and you want a party hotel, maybe this is the place for you. But for an older group or a family, this is not the place to stay.
The Starling is an amazing hotel. Great restaurants nearby, most to all of the activities on the Atlanta Citypass are within a 10 - 20 minute drive. There is no self park for the hotel itself. There is a parking garage very close by the hotel although it is quite a bit more expensive with the in and out fee. Its a little difficult getting information about your stay. I was told about breakfast, some said they don't include it at all, some said its package only (which it is) they gave us the wrong time through email but let us know when we got there the actual time. The $100 refundable payment when you get there is actually $200. There are 4 elevators although I only ever saw two work, and Sunday checkout before 11 was crowded to the point we had to haul our belongings down the stairs. The rooms are beautiful, although paying so much and noticing the smaller things there are a lot you might not see if you look at the big picture.Rooms:The good of the room is a super comfy bed and pillows. Very nice soft lighting provided by the two lights on each side of the bed.The bad: There is a gap in between the sliding door of the bathroom, there is no bathroom fan, the shower has only a half door so water does splash out but with a towel is easily taken care of.Other things: The room had a nice decor, curtains for naps and a large window for viewing. There were picture frames highlighting the birds on the wallpaper which was strange considering there was a fake bird in a picture frame as well. The faucet is super loud, as well as the toilet. Which to an extent is a good thing because I don't think you could clog it.Breakfast:The good: DELICIOUS, during our stay which was Friday evening to Sunday morning they had a amazing display of a buffet. The selection did not change from Saturday to Sunday but personally I loved the food but I see how it could get repetitive. The staff are very attentive and polite. The bad: I feel as if the staff do not get enough credit. We saw multiple guests brush them off and walk away when they were asking simple questions. In all this experience was amazing. Night life in the city continues into the hotel with music and people in the lobby. I would definitely consider staying here again.
The Ritz-Carlton Atlanta: Classic Elegance and Romance
Step into a world of timeless elegance and sophistication at The Ritz-Carlton Atlanta. Located in the heart of downtown, this iconic hotel offers luxurious accommodations, fine dining, and unparalleled service that will make you feel like royalty. The hotel’s spacious suites, adorned with sumptuous furnishings and breathtaking city views, provide the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable romantic escape. Indulge in a couples’ spa treatment or enjoy a delectable meal at the on-site restaurant, AG, to create memories that will last a lifetime.
I was disappointed in the outdated decor of the room. You’re paying for the name Ritz Carlton because I’ve stayed in other places that looked more appeasing. The hotel staff was great and so was the food.
Definitely has a great location downtown. I would say that this location is a bit dated although the lobby and other areas are quite nice. We really enjoyed The on-site restaurant. This hotel definitely has really good service from valet, concierge, and the restaurant. Overall, it was a great stay. I could see this hotel really becoming a lot better if they had a few more amenities like a pool, hot tub etc.
I had much higher expectations for a Ritz Carlton and can say this is the trashiest Ritz I have ever stayed in. When I walked into my room, there was housekeeping staff lounging on the couch chit chatting. They apologized and said "I didn't think this room was assigned" Turns out my coworker experienced the same situation walking into their room upon arrival. The room had a faint smell of smoke. The pillows felt like they were borrowed from a motel 6. The area has also declined quite a bit - we witnessed multiple fights between homeless people right outside the hotel. General point being - there are plenty of really nice hotels in Atlanta and this Ritz is not one of them.
Can't deny they have a beautiful property with a great location for market and walkable restaurant location. Price was a little steep but what was expected.
Come, let me regale you with the tale of my stay at this unconventional luxury establishment.Located in the heart of Atlanta, the Ritz Carlton boasts a central position that beckons weary travelers with promises of convenience and accessibility. Alas, as I arrived, as I ventured into the room, the scent of adventure mingled with an unexpected aroma of smoke. Ah, yes, the lingering essence of smoky surprises. As I stepped through the door, my senses were greeted by a fragrance reminiscent of a fire-breathing dragon's lair. It was an olfactory adventure that left me yearning for fresher air and a faint longing for my trusty nostril plugs.Alas, the substandard service continued to unfold its theatrical acts throughout my stay. From the housekeeping brigade's impressive ability to disappear into thin air, rendering fresh towels an elusive treasure, to the concierge's uncanny talent for recommending the most obscure and underwhelming local attractions, the Ritz Carlton Atlanta proved to be a haven for the unexpected.Yet, amidst the chaos, one cannot overlook the hotel's prime location—a gleaming ray of hope amidst the comedic mishaps. Just steps away from Atlanta's vibrant city life, it serves as a reminder that even within the confines of peculiar hospitality, the world outside awaits with its own grand adventures. In conclusion, for those seeking a whimsical escapade, complete with slow-motion front desk encounters, a touch of smoke in the air, and service that dances to its own rhythm, the Ritz Carlton Atlanta offers an experience like no other. It is a place where time stands still, towels play hide-and
I went for a wedding and reception, so stayed only one night. The service is exceptional, firstly, from arrival to check out. Stellar. I ordered a burger very late one night after the reception and the burger and fries were delicious. The venue the events we were in were also beautiful. The hotel is older but very we maintained despite it's age. I would go back for sure. I didn't take any pictures this time around, but it's a recommend.
Make sure to use HoteITully.ᴄᴏm when booking any resort. They compare hundreds of booking websites and typically will have rates a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This resort is one of my favorites in this area. I've been staying here for years. If you decide to stay here you won't be disappointed. This hotel has always been a home away from home for me! The staff always provides excellent quality service! I left some important documents in my room after checkout, and the valet quickly went to my room to retrieve it. The complimentary car service available for transportation within a certain mile radius was ideal for my appointment in Midtown. The driver, William, who has been there for years, is simply amazing! Thank you for the consistency in service, check-in/out, room cleanliness, and quality. No other establishment does it quite like the Ritz-Carlton!!
My wife and I recently stayed here for a week and the service and hospitality were beyond expectation. The valet parking of $55 a day seems really steep when you consider you should be tipping somewhere when retrieving your vehicle. The room we had was nice, but definitely nothing luxurious in my opinion except the bathroom. We stayed on the club level and I have to say hats off to the entire staff who worked the lounge. The were all super nice and accommodating at any given time. My wife was well taken care of while I was out on business during the day and the food they served all day was a treat. We ventured out a couple of nights, but it has a very sketchy vibe with the amount of homeless people around. It's not the hotel's fault, but it's what you can expect at this location. It's better to drive a little distance out of the downtown area if you want to go somewhere good to eat. This was a business trip and expenses were paid, but I highly doubt I would ever pay the price tag myself to stay here. It was still an enjoyable visit and if I go again on business, I will stay here.
This was my first time booking a Ritz Carlton because I got a really great deal from a business rate. I ended up booking two rooms because I had family with me. The rooms are very standard with not a lot of fancy appeal like you'd expect from one of the more luxurious brand hotels. The bathroom felt pretty old. The staff was friendly and accommodating and would try to meet all of your needs. They have complimentary items in the lobby most days. I had complimentary wine one day and I think there were candies the next day. There is only valet parking here and it's $50/day. That's quite expensive and they do take a while to bring your car around to you some days. We waited for almost 20 minutes on some occasions. The area that the hotel is in, is pretty decent although there are homeless people that camp out nearby and I believe there is a homeless shelter less than .5 miles away. There are restaurants and Starbucks nearby as well. You're never too far from what you need. My family saw a roach in their room and both of our toilets ended up being plugged and we had to call maintenance for a plunger.
This hotel has always been a home away from home for me! The staff always provides excellent quality service! I left some important documents in my room after checkout, and the valet quickly went to my room to retrieve it. My husband and I started our honeymoon here, for one night only before flying out of Atlanta. The location was perfect for our early morning flight, but the room and staff were both so wonderful that it made us not want to leave so quickly. The lobby was gorgeous and already decorated for the holiday season, and it smelled divine. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. The room itself was beautiful. The water pressure in the shower was superb, the view was gorgeous, and we couldn't hear a sound from the other rooms.
Recently stayed at the Ritz Carlton on a weekend trip to Atlanta. Check-in was easy and I was greeted with the choice of water or champagne. The room was nice; we got a quiet one at the end of the hall. The shower had good pressure and a separate handheld shower head. Room service did a good job of freshening up our room. During the day we mostly explored the city so can’t comment too much further on the service.I will say that if you choose not to utilize their parking, things can get a bit confusing. For one, the cost per day is about $24 vs the $55 for valet but it is based on hourly rates so it could end up being closer to $30 based on your check-in and check-out times of the garage. Navigating the garage is a bit of a mess too. There are elevators that connect you to the 191 Peachtree Tower but the door connecting the building to the Ritz Carlton locks over the weekend causing you to have to walk up ramps to get to the floor you need. Once I figured this out it wasn’t too bad and didn’t take away from the stay. There is a lobby bar that I did not sit down to experience but they had live jazz playing Friday night. Also I got the password for the Red Phone Booth around the corner but we never got a chance to check that out either. Overall, for a nice hotel in the midtown area, check out the Ritz.
The room cleanliness didn't meet our expectations. My husband used to work in a hotel/hospitality business and he knows where to check in order to see if the room was properly cleaned. Found so many areas that were not properly cleaned. There was so much dust on the bed headboards, frames, etc. The price of room is way to expensive considering the facts. Also, the parking is way too expensive and they don't give you an option besides the valet parking. The staff that we interacted with was friendly and professional. The staff that attended the wedding party was amazing.
I stayed here for my birthday ? The room was clean. But I must say, I was very pleased with the level of service provided. From being greeted to room service. I would go as far to say I was treated like a princess. The hotel ambiance was great for pictures as I walked out of the hotel. I had a Masquerade themed party and just happen to meet a guy dressed for the occasion and he honored me with a quick photo.I did have a stretch limo to pick me up and it was not allowed to come directly in front due to its size.
The Whitley, A Luxury Collection Hotel: Southern Charm Meets Modern Romance
Experience true Southern charm and hospitality at The Whitley, A Luxury Collection Hotel. Situated in the upscale Buckhead neighborhood, this lavish hotel offers the perfect blend of history, elegance, and contemporary style. Each room is thoughtfully designed to create a warm, inviting atmosphere, complete with plush bedding, cozy fireplaces, and private balconies. Enjoy a romantic dinner at the on-site restaurant, Trade Root, followed by a nightcap at the chic Whiskey Bar. The Whitley’s enchanting ambiance will leave you and your partner feeling more in love than ever.
Well overpriced. I stayed 2 weeks prior at a lower end version of the chain, same room, and better amenities. The same breakfast as the free one was $25. The room was the exact same minus the kitchenette, it was nice to have a bar and restaurant on site, it was rarely open and way over priced even for a hotel bar.If you are willing to spend money for the prestige go for it, if not get closer to the stadium and have a much better experience. Most of the outlets were broken as well as the USB ports. Very disappointing.
Me and my best friend came down to Atlanta for a weekend getaway from the stress and left more stressed out than when we came. I checked in Wednesday night my friend checked in Thursday morning for the Usher concert. Everything was going ok until Saturday came. We tried to order room service Saturday morning at 11:30. The hotel said that room service was available until 12. When we called we were told the kitchen was closed until 5. Ok no problem. We makeReservations to go to dinner and when we come down from our room there is secret service everywhere, sniffing dogs, police, and a metal detector and body scanner at the entrance. We ask what’s going on because all they have posted is “private event”. The staff at the front desk were completely rude and dismissive. One clerk told the other, who claimed she was the asst manager not to talk to us and tossed a hotel card at us “if we had complaints”. We tried several times to get and Uber/Lyft, which kept canceling because they were not able to get through to the hotel d/t the roads all being blocked off unless you had clearance because the hotel needed to be “sterile”. We had to cancel our reservations at our hotel and we also lost our reservation fee due to the late cancellation because we were unable to get a Uber or a Lyft to come and pick us up. We were told that we could walk a mile around that included going over a bridge and under a tunnel so that we could get to a area where Uber or Lyft could pick us up other than that they didn’t know what could be done. We were finally able to get some assistance from the general manager and the bar food manager I believe who both were very nice and were very helpful. We tried to continue with our night and get it on track. Make the best of the situation. We were finally able to get something to eat because the kitchen finally open and we said you know what we’re checking out the next day. everything should be good. Well guess what it wasn’t because we went through the exact same thing again Secret Service was steal all over the lobby. There was still a metal detector up sniffing dogs were all around. All of the rules were barricaded again with dump trucks and police vehicles and guess what guess what unable to get a Uber unable to get a lift nobody at the front desk no answer. Nobody in valet had an answer. Everybody had different answers. They actually told us to walk our luggage, the mile to area that nobody knew where the area was so that Uber or Lyft could pick us up. Luckily by the grace of God, there was a Uber driver that was dropping off a political official or somebody affiliated with the political party that was telling them they are not letting Uber or Lyft drivers through. He agreed to take us to the airport I still wind up missing my flight but here I am so I said all that to say if you are OK with being treated like the dollar that you spend at the hotel are not important because you’re not a ““VIP if you are OK with your plans being completely inconvenienced and you be in disregarded as a guest because you are not “VIP by all means please book and stay at the Whitley. The front desk staff at the Whitley last night and this morning were completely un empathetic. They completely disregarded their guest as far as their plans. They did not care about how their guests were inconvenience. Honestly, they did not care about their guest at all their attitudes were very rude and disrespectful, and I would not recommend staying at the Whitley or any affiliates of the Whitley at all.
What an absolute disaster. Check in was fine, valet when we arrived was great. It all stops there. Room walls so thin you could hear people next to you, doors slamming so hard it shook our room. We left for dinner on Saturday 10 minutes from the hotel to see the hotel and roads locked down with security and secret service agents. No one told us about an apparent “high profile client” impacting our stay prior to check in. Had we known we would have gone elsewhere. It took us an hour to find a route back to the hotel from dinner and when I called guest services to ask how to get into the hotel the response was to “park your vehicle at a nearby lot and walk back to the hotel.” I’m sorry - what???? We had to go through a security check point with bomb sniffing dogs and metal detectors to get back into the hotel. Icing on the cake was this morning when we called valet to have our car pulled around, we waited for almost 30 minutes - valet couldn’t find the vehicle. Come to find out it was parked in a spot down the front of the hotel the entire time. What an absolute mess. Celebrating our 10 year anniversary completely soured by this awful experience, and not being given the autonomy to choose elsewhere with the knowledge that this would impact our experience just pisses me off.
Wonderful decoration and amenities - breakfast is amazing and worth it if you have a big appetite. Swimming pool and lounge area outside are nice, but no shower. Beautiful rooms and hotel lobby. Super polite and helpful staff. Some minor issues:• a snickers bar costs $9 😂• staircase is filthy with dead insects everywhere.• Water pressure in rooms is very low.• pool area has no shower• outlets are old w/ liquid damage (hazard ⚠️)
I have been visiting the lobby lounge at this hotel since the early 2000s, and the consistency in service has always been remarkable. The staff in the lounge continue to exceed expectations, providing excellent service over the years. However, several aspects of the hotel under its new ownership by Marriott Bonvoy raise concerns about its commitment to maintaining luxury standards. While the hotel still presents itself as a luxury property, some noticeable issues contradict that image. Throughout the premises, I observed several rugs with large, visible holes, including multiple on my floor. Additionally, the exit door on my floor barely closed properly, which raises concerns about functionality and safety, as it could hinder guest access or egress in an emergency. Large paint chips were also peeling from the door, exposing the underlying wood—a clear indication of deferred maintenance.Under its previous ownership as the Ritz-Carlton, the front-of-house service was more attentive. Staff would routinely open car doors and the main entrance for guests. However, during my recent visit, I observed staff standing by and watching as guests entered and exited vehicles without offering the same level of service. This shift in attention to detail significantly impacts the guest experience, especially for those familiar with the service standards of the past.To restore its reputation as a luxury hotel, The Whitley would benefit from addressing maintenance issues promptly and ensuring that front-of-house service aligns with the expectations of a high-end property.
We stayed at the Whitely in July 2024, and while it is a lovely hotel in the perfect location, we had a less than positive experience related to service. I had booked two rooms both with queen beds as the one room was for two adults and two children. We were caught up in the Crowdstrike debacle and our flights were canceled. As a last resort we drove from PA to Atlanta and I called the hotel twice to advise we would arrive late and to please honor our rooms. We were assured they would. When we arrived around midnight, we walked into our rooms both with kings beds - not two queens. We were so tired after 12 hour drive (and two small children) that my daughter slept on the chaise lounge thinking we would fix this in the morning. Next morning we spoke to the front desk who promised they would change our rooms and contact us when they were ready. By mid afternoon, we had heard nothing so we contacted the front desk again who seemed unaware of the situation but did find us rooms each with two queens. On top of that, we were not given the coupons for the Summer Bliss package (only finding out that we needed coupons when we were having breakfast and dinner) and the valet service over-charged us by several hundred dollars by adding extra valet charges on two days of our stay. We've contacted the hotel twice to get these charges corrected with a promise that someone would get back to us. Unfortunately, no one has called us back. While it is a lovely hotel, we will not stay or recommend this hotel. We are also longtime Bonvoy members and only stay on Marriott properties. To say the least, this treatment is disappointing.
What a beautiful hotel. I came and stayed for an event and enjoyed every bit of it! From the staff, to the food, drinks and proximity!! Will be back soon!
My family and I had the best experience staying at The Whitley. Every person we met was extremely friendly, professional, and helpful. The front desk manager also made a great impression on me; not only did she upgrade us into an executive suite which made our stay even more enjoyable, but she went out of her way to get my family and I 3 cups of milk when I was asking where I could purchase some as I had taken us out to get late night treats. This has honestly been the best service I've received from any industry in years. I won't stop telling everyone I know to come and stay at The Whitley!
The Whitley Hotel offers a luxurious stay with exceptional service and breathtaking views.Pros:* Exceptional service: The staff was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable experience.* Stunning views: The top floor offers panoramic views of the city, making for a memorable stay.Cons:* Bathroom cleanliness: The bathroom was not cleaned to standard, with hair on the shower walls and skittles/trash under the bed.* Lack of amenities: The rooms were spacious but lacked basic amenities such as a microwave.Overall:Despite the cleanliness issue, the Whitley Hotel provides a luxurious experience with exceptional service and stunning views. With attention to bathroom cleanliness and additional amenities, it could easily earn a 5-star rating.
When you look up the word luxury in Webster's or Oxford dictionary there should be a picture of the Whitley Hotel. This hotel is simply beautiful. Step into the lobby and you are hit with a signature scent identifying this hotel as top notch. The check in process was easy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Next stop the room: This was not a typical hotel room. It was cozy and beautifully decorated. The linens were soft and comfortable adding to my luxurious stay so much so I didn't want to get up. Plenty of plump towels and bathrobes to make your stay feel like home. The bathroom was equipped with Byredo products which was a plus. This hotel is in the heart of Buckhead so there are plenty of places to eat and shop. It is steps away from Lenox mall and Phipps Plaza. Get your rich auntie vibes on at the Whitley!
I am a 68 year-old woman dealing with a nightmare with this hotel and their contracted valet service. I bought a nice car last year that has to take me beyond retirement - really to drive it until I can't drive anymore Their young drivers did damage to my car that is going to cost me $1200 to repair. The valet service has denied liability and even tried to falsify their check-in card, but they circled the wrong side of the card on a different part of the car. This will not serve them well in court. The hotel will not respond to my requests for someone in management to call me regarding this matter nor to provide needed documents. I will be taking this to court if needed. I am working hard to be able to retire. This is not the first time this valet company has stolen from customers or damaged property. They and the hotel seem to think people will allow them to get by with this behavior. I cannot afford to do so, so I will use my legal education to get the ball rolling - then, if still no relief, I will hire an attorney.
I am giving a 4star mostly because the Employees are super nice. Every one of them greet you when you come in. They tell have a great day when you leave. Overall they were great. The views are amazing. From the parking deck at sunset. In the morning as the sun comes up just spectacular. The elevator is well slow to get to you at times, the screen wasn’t working looked like a windows desktop - nice throwback.I did notice wall dirty in the halls on the floors. The room doors are so loud when they close it can scar you if you are trying to sleep. You can hear everything that’s outside like street level I was on the 6th floor and most of the cars sounded like they were driving through my room like it was a short cut.I didn’t get to eat at the restaurant I wish I did I have heard great things. I would definitely recommend this hotel but it’s on the pricey side.Overnight parking is $25Valet is $55 overnight
Hands down a favorite property not only within Atlanta but the hospitality and service here are top notch. This hotel was previously a Ritz and many of the “ladies and gentlemen” have stayed and work now at this property still. The front desk associates are by far some of the most kind and helpful. Stay here frequently due to business. Lounge always has good food and has the most kind attendants.Only negative remarks I may have are mostly with the 3rd party valet which can be quite slow and sometimes rude. Service at breakfast can be slow as well. I would also prefer better coffee as downstairs is not the best.Other than those few rooms for improvement, I always enjoy staying here.
The Whitley is an amazing hotel. The entire staff was incredible and made the experience top notch. The stay we had was only two days but it had us wishing we were staying longer. The beds were VERY comfortable and the room clean and spacious! The hotel has a bar and restaurant so you didn't have to go anywhere if you didn't want to. It also has a pool/fitness center and Spa but we unfortunately didn't have time to experience it on this trip, but will be sure to check it out on our next trip. Our overall experience left us thinking of more events to attend in Atlanta just so we can have the pleasure of staying here again! We loved the structures inside and the elegance of the entire hotel. Absolutely in love with this hotel.
I recently stayed at The Whitley in Atlanta, GA, and I must say that I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The staff at this hotel is simply amazing, and they went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The service at The Whitley is also exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming and attentive, and they continued to provide top-notch service throughout my stay. Whether it was helping me with my luggage, providing recommendations for local attractions, or simply greeting me with a smile in the hallways, the staff at this hotel truly made me feel like a valued guest. In addition to the fantastic service, the location of The Whitley is absolutely beautiful. The hotel is situated in the heart of Buckhead, one of Atlanta's most upscale neighborhoods, and the surrounding area is full of great restaurants, shops, and attractions. Whether you're in town for business or pleasure, this hotel is the perfect place to stay if you want to experience all that Atlanta has to offer.Overall, I would highly recommend The Whitley to anyone looking for a luxurious and unforgettable hotel experience in Atlanta. The staff, service, and location are all top-notch, and I can't wait to visit this hotel again in the future.
We spent New Years' eve night here with our children. The room was comfortable and clean. It was a great location to walk somewhere and have dinner without having to move the car. The self-park ramp conveniently adjoined the building and matched the published rate. The pool was large and well-heated, and the pool area included a jacuzzi. Breakfast was delicious with numerous options. We had friendly conversations at the bar in the evening. The holiday decorations in the common spaces were beautiful. But it was without a doubt the staff that made this a 5-star experience. We were treated kindly at all times and felt as if our presence there was appreciated. Thank you Whitley staff and management. We had a great time.
This hotel is beautiful! Love all of the artwork and interior design. All of the staff were so kind, polite and attentive. We had a corporate event over a few days and the staff helping with food and beverage service were great. We had some AV issues the first day and the event manager was kind and swift to resolve the issue. Our breakfasts and lunches were amazing!! I wouldn’t recommend the fries via room service but overall no complaints! And it would be nice if you didn’t have to pay for parking if you’re staying at the hotel but oh well that’s Atlanta for ya. Thanks for a great stay!
This is by far the worst 5-star hotel I’ve ever stayed at. My complaints:- First room I was given smelled so much of smoke I coughed immediately upon opening the door- When I went to use the phone in the first room to call down and request a new room, I discovered the lamp next to the phone didn’t work- New room has a mediocre bathroom at best. Incredibly small tub, takes forever for the water to warm up, water pressure almost non-existent, and the toilet paper roll holder is broken- Marriott’s Connect My Device feature does not work in this hotel- Rooms do not have coffeemakers and fridges except upon request and no mini bar- Sound attenuation is horrible; can head my neighbors frequently- Door does not reach the floor so the sound and light from the hallway bleeds in at all times- Door lock does not work- Door did not have a privacy/do not disturb sign- The requested fridge is fine but clearly the outlet is not meant for it because it dims the lamps- Room service has very limited hours- Front desk/bellhops do not deliver packages; you have to go to the lobby to get themIf you don’t have experience with 5-star hotels maybe this one could be right for you, but if you’ve ever stayed at an actually nice luxury hotel, you will be surely disappointed.

My family and I were there for New Year's and we loved it, I can say that it was the best vacation in recent years... I totally recommend this place, super beautiful, clean and spacious rooms, good attention from the administrative staff... the Massages are fabulous in that place, we were missing days to continue enjoying…. I hope to come back soon .
12/23/24We' ll be coming back but there are some things we are hoping we don't encounter again at the treetop cabinPROSFrom the start we will welcomed with Morgan's superior and professional customer service skills. She was extremely informative great personality very welcoming very accommodating with a very assuring, colorful, and warm personality. (She wanted us to know we were important despite us only staying one day.)Xavier the chef was very talented and totally accommodating to our dietary restrictions. Both dinner and breakfast servers were fantastic. The morning chef came out to check if everything was good. The ambiance of our cabin was warm and inviting and thematic. Very quiet. The lobby has a TV and practically a kitchen dining area and it was very nice to have dinner with the children to prevent any mess in the room.I really appreciated the The ambience in the room. The decor seem newly renovated and I liked that. Little things like a vortex fan to circulate air available was much appreciatedCONS-There was a vacuum cleaner, however the vacuum cleaner was so clogged I had to unclog it and the amount of dust that came out, of housekeeping was using that vacuum cleaner to clean the rooms It wasn't cleaning anything which I attached a picture to show the amount of dust that came out of the vacuum cleaner to unclogWhat I did not like was the amount of dust that was in our room that showed the lack of staff or protocol to ensure a thoroughness of sanitation. The same was with the amount of hair left that clogged the shower. At one point we needed to cool the room down because Georgia in December has its days in the '60s (with high pressured days before rain). However, the a/c stopped working (I'm guessing because it's probably old as I was.)Finally what I did not like was the lack of security with the porch door. I did not like that the porch door opens outwardly instead of inwardly nor was they're an ability to put a chain lock swing bar portable door lock or door stopper to prevent forced entry door because there is no way to prevent. The blinds showed gaps to where anyone outside can look inside at the most intimate moments and spaces.
If you're planning a getaway this is a good place to truly get away because it's in the country and cell service is limited, makes it a solid place to disconnect. The front desk staff was helpful during booking and our stay there; I wasn't a fan of the coffee in our room (picky coffee person here!) and Crystal went above and beyond to brew some of her own coffee for me, that was very kind and excellent customer service in my book. The horse back riding was a lot of fun and our guide was great! The only thing I would suggest is include gratuity in the ride prices so there's no surprise "added fee" after you've paid for your rides. I'm all for giving gratuity, just make it known to guests they're getting charged for it. The dinner and desserts were tasty! The breakfast was not bad the first and second morning we were there, your typical standard breakfast that's included in your stay and it was good. Christmas breakfast was not good, I hate to say. I've never seen a big container of boiled eggs offered at a breakfast buffet, the other mornings it was scrambled eggs. The other thing that stood out was the basket of browned bananas-these could have easily been turned into a banana bread, but should not have been offered at a buffet in my opinion. There were a lot more options at breakfast during the beginning of our stay, just seemed odd that the Christmas breakfast was so bare and unprepared for.
Update: The business demonstrated its commitment to customer satisfaction by following up with my parents on their unfavorable experience and promptly reimbursing them for their inconvenience.Old Review: My parents went here for a romantic getaway and they feel what they paid was not worth it. Their fireplace did not work, even though they had an electrician come in multiple times to attempt, but they finally gave up - which was a mood killer for a romantic weekend during the winter. Then the room wasn't really a cabin feel. Yeah it had a jacuzzi, but when you think you are looking to getting a cabin feel, it is quite the opposite. Now don't get me wrong, they raved about the food, but they told me that they would not recommend this place to no one. All it was, was even with the weather, you could have walked, but they said their experience was "ridiculous".
We did the horseback riding for my niece’s birthday and everyone we encountered was AMAZING! From the booking to the ladies who rode/walked the trail with us. We had a huge party of 10 all together with 3 children who had never rode before. They were patient with all the kids and even walked the trail with one of them. We will definitely be back and we always share the name when people ask where to go!!
This is our second time visiting here- first time was 4 years ago for our honeymoon- this time it was our 4th anniversary -The staff is extremely friendly- the cabin was cute and cozy- however some improvements could be made - we couldn’t get any of the extra heaters around cabin to work so luckily we brought our own space heaters-We ate at the on-site restaurant one night and food was delicious- again the staff was friendly-Breakfast in the am was so so- I think the cook had a lot to do with that as sausage was undercooked one day over cooked the next- the pancakes were burnt and the eggs were watery- so not my favorite- and I was in the military and the chow hall food was better-But overall we had a great time- the horses are super friendly along with the kitty cats that roam the property-I would recommend visiting-They just need to do someMore up keep of the cabins in my personal opinion!!!Oh and the best part is the hot tub in the room!!!
My husband and I had our wedding rehearsal dinner here in the Rose Garden Room. It was beautiful!!! The staff worked with us on exactly what we wanted and we were able to come in the morning of to be able to set up and add our own personal touches. It’s a gorgeous space and we all had a great time!!!
Nice resort to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city!! My husband and I loves it..nice..quiet and secluded..you have a restaurant onsite that serves a free delicious breakfast and serves lunch and dinner so you don’t really have to leave the cabin to go search for food. It’s horseback riding, a pool and massage services onsite as well.
I have stayed at this resort many times. I love the property and the people, HOWEVER, I just made a reservation yesterday, notifying the management I only needed one night and I was given this reservation. All is well, until this morning they called and cancelled this reservation because it being a holiday weekend they required 2 night reservations. I cant stay two nights. I only need one night. This was not my fault. This is the property teams fault. They gave me a one night stay and then changed their mind. Yet, I had to cancel my trip. This is NOT customer service. This is NOT putting the customer first. I am SUPER DISSAPOINTED. Don't promise something, then pull it back. This is NOT how you treat any guest. Especially a repeat guest.
Me and my boyfriend stay there Wednesday to Friday, it was truly amazing. The people there was so nice and awesome. They treat you like family. The site was beautiful ❤️ also the lodge we stay in was out of the world, words couldn’t describe how wonderful it was. The view from our lodge was really nice. The food there was good, they know how to cook a good meal for you. I had a blast there especially riding horses with my boyfriend. I made some more great memories. ❤️? I would recommend EVERY body to come here if you need a break from the real world or even need some relax time.
I stayed here for 5 days. Loved it. The staff are really wonderful and treated you like family. They were so welcoming. The dinners were great. Loved Chef Reggie and all the dining staff. We went horseback riding and loved it. My trip was great and I can’t wait to come back.
We stayed Tuesday-Saturday and every day was amazing. It is peaceful and relaxing. We got married at fox hollow gazebo and we could not have asked for a better day. They made sure our wedding was special and memorable. I would come back and recommend this romantic spot.
My wife and I stayed in a cabin at Forrest Hills resort. This was not our first visit. 38 years ago, in 1984 we stayed here while we were traveling after our wedding. The cabin where we stayed this time (Lovebird 1) was great. There was a nice fireplace, in-room hot tub, and a very comfortable king size bed. Since our last stay, the resort has expanded from a few cabins, to now hosting weddings, serving great food ( a full hot breakfast was included) and many more cabins, lodges, and other accommodation choices. I would recommend visiting here. The staff treated us like family. This was a surprise trip for my bride of 38 years, and we had a wonderful time.
Wanted to see the fall leaves and enjoy a small mountain town. Thankfully we were able to snag the last cabin here. We had such a good time relaxing and recharging. Secluded and off the beaten path. Made friends with some locals. Staff was friendly. Can't say much about the property because we didn't spend much time on site or use the amenities. However, we enjoyed our comfy cabin with a wood burning fire, a private hot tub, a porch swing, wine from local vineyards, and a yummy breakfast every morning. My favorite part of each day was watching the horses run to and from pasture. Much needed time For-Rest
Had a girls long weekend at the resort and we were treated like rock stars! Spacious/clean rooms with king comfy beds! Staff was amazing! We were able to meet the owners which were just as nice as the resort! Food for breakfast and dinner was awesome! Could not have had a better time and place anywhere!! Thank you all for a great time! Would highly recommend Forrest Hills Resort “ For Rest” as the owner pointed out to us!!
This place is wonderful! My husband and I came for just a weekend and had the best time. I fell in love with Jackie at the front desk. She is so sweet and it was like talking with an old friend. I can't say enough about her! The grounds are beautiful. The hot tub in the cabin was just what we needed. The cabins are adorable and spaced out to where you don't feel on top of each other. We will be back!

This place is so amazing. My husband surprised me with this place and I was so amazed. This is a beautiful adults-only hotel and I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and family. Best. Birthday. Gift. Ever!!!
Very beautiful place however they do have a non-refundable cancellation policy with absolutely no flexibility based on extenuating circumstances. My wife and I had a wedding anniversary getaway planned but unexpectedly our 7 year old daughter became very sick which forced us to rush her to the doctor the afternoon of our reserved stay. I called in and was shocked by the unsympathetic and uncaring attitude set forth by the staff! I even offered to provide validation of my daughter’s condition from the doctor’s office but that fell on deaf ears. I was told they have a waiting list that would be contacted to possibly take over our reservation so we would not be charged. Unfortunately, I was never called back with the results. It actually took me making a few follow up calls to check in for a status. I was NOT looking for a refund just the opportunity to re-schedule at a later date. Unfortunately we were charged approximately $500.00 for the reserved night and didn’t step foot on the property. In conclusion I would say if you are a couple that has children be very cautious when reserving your stay here because unfortunately if an unforeseen circumstance arises with your kiddos there is zero leniency given on their non-refundable policy.
Arrived and all provisions were on time getting the additional package were so easy and convenient. Ordering food fromOutter locations was easy also.Heated pool, sauna, and jacuzziIs awesome with staff that gave great service special thanks toJosh and Michele.P.s. thank for the love trail
My wonderful husband surprised me with this getaway and it was WONDERFUL. We had a great time here. The only issue for us was the lack of a microwave. We wanted to stay in one night but had to eat quickly so our food wouldn't get cold. Another issue was the lack of a ice machine. Lastly, was the limited choices of muffins, coffee creamer, and sweetener. I don't eat blueberry muffins but the coffee cakes were tasty. Having fresh coffee delivered to your room was a plus. Definitely will come again and just bring my own creamer and sweetener. We were able to relax with no interruptions. I like that it's secluded and away from everything.
This place is my go-to for getaways now! The hospitality is wonderful, everyone we spoke to was so kind and made sure we enjoyed our stay to the fullest. The room was clean, and big! The shower was so large I could jog laps in it, as well as me and fianceé being able to have our own showerheads. The tub was so big, we could lay or sit however we wanted TOGETHER in the tub comfortably. There were two TVs, one viewable from the tub and the other right in front of the bed (we loved the variety of channels, if you catch my drift) and a bluetooth sound system that could be used in the pool room and it was a nice addition to have. We really enjoyed the packages you could have delivered (we ordered some yummy snacks), and the complimentary breakfast was hot and delicious! I wasn’t expecting the muffins to be so big and warm! The bed was big and comfy, and we loved having the personal garage as we don’t have one at our apartment, so it felt like a luxury to have lol. The rooms are very private and romantic, and we loved being able to drive only an hour to get to such a lovely little spot! It’s located close enough to the city to go out for dinner, but far enough to be in a little woodsy spot where there’s no burden of hearing cars the whole night. We loved our entire experience here and are already planning our next trip out! Thank you so much for our wonderful weekend and we can’t wait to return! ❤️
Took my fiance for her b'day & we truly enjoyed every part of this room!! From the whirlpool to the awesome shower & comfortable bed!! You can rest because there are no windows so I recommend getting the late checkout!! Customer service is awesome & they even bring you ice if needed & breakfast in the morning right to your door!! Anniversary package gets you a gift card for $50 to Marlow's Tavern which is a great place to do a date night!! You will love this place!!
ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT HERE! They stay pretty booked up, so make sure you plan in advance like wayyyy in advance lol! Everything was so beautiful, private pool, sauna, we got couples massages (FANTASTIC), they cater to you literally, & the shower was insane! They have no windows at all, so be prepared to sleep in. I cannot wait to come again!
My wife and I went to the Georgia location for her birthday. Let me just say this place is amazing! Super quiet, very romantic and the room was amazing. The staff was attentive to our needs and made sure that our stay was perfect. Every person of their staff that we dealt with went above and beyond when we spoke to them. Once there we never left the room. We will be sure to head back for another get away very soon!
This place is quite the getaway for couples looking to get away relax & be intimate with one another. I originally booked the ultimate whirlpool suite but once the day came to check in I was informed that they upgraded me to the grand royal swimming pool suite complimentary & it was so amazing I didn’t want to leave. The suite included a pool, sauna, stand up shower & a whirlpool tub. There’s a walking trail couples can walk if you want to get out the room. Breakfast is complementary & room service is available 24 hours. The staff was nice & energetic. There’s not much fun things to do in the area but they’re plenty of restaurants you can go eat at.
Check in was fast and easy, everything was clean I ordered the birthday package and it was absolutely what I expected. I got a massage for my husband she was on time very professional. Pool area clean and sanitized. I will return and refer to all of my clients and friends! Thanks for this experience.
We had a wonderful stay for my husband's birthday. We had in-room massages and chose to do early check-in/out, definitely an add-on that was worth the money. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We loved the privacy and strategically placed mirrors! All lighting was dimmable, TV was easy to switch to adult programming, water stayed hot, shower and jacuzzi. Pool and sauna were clean and sanitary, very relaxing!Only small improvements would be USB ports available and a toilet/shower in pool/sauna area.
We had an amazing getaway! The room was exceptionally clean! We had a pool suite - what a treat! My husband surprised me with roses, flowers, candles, snacks, and a fabulous night away. I would ? recommend these suites to anyone looking for a romantic weekend getaway in Georgia.

The Ridges Resort on Lake Chatuge is the perfect place to reconnect and create lasting memories with your loved one.
Nice place, older but well kept. I booked for a work trip. Wanted to relax with a view. I was probably one of 5 guests at the time (not busy on Monday), and they put me in a room with a parking lot view (blehhh). Restaurant and bar not open on Mondays, but the Marina Restaurant was and it's a quick drive. If you get a lake view, it would be beautiful.. I went out to the lobby to enjoy the sunrise. Overall I would return but I would ask for a lake view. Beds were very comfortable.
The Ridges was right on the lake and was truly lovely. Being that we were staying there in an off-season period, it seemed staffing was a bit thin. The extraordinary wind and rain didn't help much either. I can imagine that a spring/summer/fall stay would be truly delightful.
We went for the season opening of the water park. We were so excited to see the beautiful location of the hotel and it's access to the lake. The ribbon of walkways and the accessibility to restaurants, The Marina, and the water park made it easy to walk off the delicious meals we enjoyed. In the evening we loved the fire pit and the s'mores. Very friendly and efficient staff. The hotel room was a little bit small, but it was beautifully decorated and very clean.
When you see this place on certain sites it says 2 ⭐️.We had a hiccup when we checked in. There was an issue with the 3 party booking site sending info to the resort. The resort made up for it with upgraded accommodations.I give them 5 stars… The room was clean and staff were Friendly and helpful.Maybe a little dated but, not a 2 star for sure.If you like rustic country, you’ll be right at home!If you part of the boat club this is a must.
My family had the best experience at this resort. The staff was so incredibly nice and accommodating. They offered great suggestions for the area, although we truly had no need to leave the resort area, as the grounds had more than enough to do/eat. The views were absolutely breathtaking at this resort. My 3 boys especially loved the s’mores each night outside by the fire.
Overall, a pleasant stay. Pros were the comfy bed, AC worked great, pretty lake views, and attentive staff. Not so great was the continental breakfast, the miscommunication/email about the app, and no bath mat and only one towel in the room upon arrival.
I had my November 2022 wedding at the Ridges Resort, and I could not have been happier with my decision. We were married on the lakeside lawn and had our reception in Red Banks Ridge. Our rehearsal dinner was the evening before in the newly renovated Oaks Lakeside Kitchen - which was spectacular! We had a 25 room block with our whole family and bridal party staying on site, which was a #1 concern when booking our venue. The other thing we loved was that catering and bar packages were provided through the venue as well. The day of and for weeks after, I received so many compliments on how delicious our food was the entire weekend. Andy Allen, our event coordinator, even set aside a plate of the pass-around apps that my husband and I may have missed out on due to post-ceremony photos. My drink was never empty, and I felt well taken care of by Andy and her staff. I heard from many family members that it was one of the best weddings, if not the best, they had ever been to. The hotel rooms were modern and clean. The continental breakfast was delicious and there are also some fun restaurants nearby that we enjoyed during our wedding weekend in the mountains. We were able to meet with our coordinating team, lead by Andy, twice before the big day to plan out everything. She offered her expertise with rentals for the additional linens and chairs I had imagined with the color scheme I had planned for the day. Everything was very straightforward - I knew what would be included and what would cost extra and there were no surprises. We ate like royalty, we danced the night away - It was an incredible weekend I will never forget!
I love the resort my family and I have been staying at The Ridges for Thanksgiving for several years but have missed the last couple due to. Covid. I was a little disappointed to see that the inside of the facility has been more modernized. We loved the rustic look of the inside and the televisions on the wall to watch movies with others and the piano but none of these things are still there. It just wasn’t the same this visit.I know things change, but we loved the lodge feel like it use to be. The service was great from the front desk very attentive. The property is always gorgeous.
We love staying at the Ridges Resort! The rooms are modern, large and clean. The views of the lake are beautiful. The location is perfect near wineries, restaurants, and a movie theater. We just stayed there this weekend and had excellent service! The front desk was very kind and accommodating, went above and beyond! And dinner at the Oaks restaurant on property was delightful, very elegant and delicious! This is our favorite place to stay in Hiawassee!

Loud rattling noise in our room. I mean really loud. I don’t know if it’s plumping or furnace. Front desk offered us a noise machine. The TV is not watchable - either signal is not detected or it’s heavily heavily pixelated. Front desk said there was a problem with Comcast but the TV says Direct TV. The room is beautiful, but wasn’t even swept or vacuumed. For $350/night this is a total rip off. The hotels behavior is flat out disrespectful. Honestly it feels like gas lighting. DO NOT STAY HERE.
First I have to say how awesome the staff are. Everyone was so kind, helpful, and chipper. Our room was very cozy and clean. The breakfast was very good. The hotel is walking distance to all the things we wanted to do. We didn't witness any "haunts"; but maybe next time :).
This is hands down one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The customer service was immaculate. They have entertainment and a wine hour every night in the lobby. Free breakfast. Very clean and well maintained. Perfect location - it’s in the historic downtown area, so even River Street is within walking distance. They will also hold your bags for you if you arrive prior to your check in time or if your flight is after your check out time. I would highly recommend!
We got some after dinner drinks at the bistro. Anya our waitress was perfect with recommendations. One of them being the pictures flourless torte. Delicious.
We had a wonderful stay here! We will definitely recommend the Marshall House to others and come again! The hospitality was top notch with very friendly staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The nightly wine, cheese, and entertainment was so fun! Wayne was amazing and kept the wine flowing! The daily breakfast was great in their beautiful atrium. Great location right in the historic center of the city with tons of food, bars, and shopping. It’s also a very close walk to the river as well. All around excellent stay!!
We stayed five days in a room on the second floor balcony. Neat historic feel to everything at this beautifully restored inn. From Carlton at the front door, to Sharon as the breakfast hostess, the staff were competent and friendly. We walked every floor and looked at the framed reproductions. The stairwell is beautifully designed and built out. I love a well made handrail. So, The Marshall House is a perfect base of operations to visit Savannah. It is situated in the North Historic District on the Savannah River. The architecture along the river is very interesting. The new development is a modern addition to the historic area.My advice is plan ahead and use Google maps to see what you might want to do. Every day should have one groovy thing to do.Be safe. Have fun!
We had a great 3 night stay at The Marshall House! Earlier in the week, we stayed at the Hyatt Regency for 2 nights because it was where my work conference was located. Honestly, The Marshall House was SO much better! It’s historic, quaint, and very clean. The staff was incredibly friendly. Our favorite was Covena who seated us for our breakfast each morning. The breakfast was complimentary and cold water bottles were always available in the lobby along with evening activities and wine. We highly recommend staying here if you visit Savannah!
High-quality hotel perfectly situated for exploring the historic district of Savannah. Our room was very nice for a family of three, spacious and clean. Breakfast was excellent, with great service. We parked in a public garage on the same block behind the hotel. Our only complaint was that the shower control in room 307 was loose and hard to operate. Should be easy to fix. Recommended nonetheless.

Let's start with the obvious; this is an OLD building...PROS:- The front desk, concierge, and valet parking staff are terrific. Always willing to go the extra mile with a smile.- Great locationCONS:This place hasn't been properly updated, so there are a lot of little things happening like:- When thee only elevator in the building is broken, it forces guests to carry strollers up and down like it happened to us.- The wooden floor makes very loud noises if you step on the wrong tile.- Half of the rooms face a parking lot, if you're lucky enough you'll lose one night sleep because of a car alarm.- I enjoyed every time the people in the room above us flushed the toilet. Did I mention nothing is soundproofed?- We stayed here for 6 nights, our five year old coughed during the last 5 nights, we later discovered nobody had cleaned the top of the wardrobe maybe since the hotel opened. See picture.- This place is Expensive, including a costly valet parking fee. I thought it was gonna be an unforgettable experience rather than one I rather forget. We checked out 2 days before our plans because our backs were killing us, maybe due to the mattresses? Who knows
My wife and I went here in November 2021, and I somehow never wrote a review. I can’t overstate how special our stay felt here. From the unique/classy social hour with all the guests created by the hosts every evening, to depth in history/preservation, this is something beautifully unique to Savannah. We were also on a “baby moon” and the hosts were EXTREMELY accommodating, gracious, and hospitable. At each night’s social gathering in the lobby, they provided sparkling wine for my wife, and one day even provided a sparking wine in our room and a hotel teddy bear for the future baby.Location is fantastic! Proximity to just about everything within reason, and such a neat spot, too. You are able to see all the beautiful squares, and be by all the restaurants/shops off the river. Everything about this just made the trip perfect. Will absolutely go back here next time we come to Savannah.
Had a great 5 night stay at Marshall House. The rooms are small compared to a big chain hotel, but plenty comfortable and very clean. At about 5pm each day they'll serve you free wine and have some sort of activity. Participation rate was high for this. Activities included a trivia competition (winners!) live music, and a talk on Savannah history by an expert in that field (he was really interesting!). Great way to start your night before heading out for the evening. We went 4 out of 5 nights. Special shout out to Wayne, who hosted the trivia and served up wine a few of the nights. Super nice guy, quick to refill your glass, and very funny. Breakfast for 2 is included. It's a typical hotel breakfast, nothing really special, but not bad at all. Location is perfect. Just a few minutes walk to river street and easy walk to the squares and historical houses just to the south of the hotel. If you are traveling without kids, you won't do better than Marshall House in Savannah.
My husband and I stayed here for a couple nights towards the end of our honeymoon. We thoroughly enjoyed this hotel. We appreciated all of the historic, tasteful decor in the hallways & our room and the friendly staff. We also really enjoyed our free breakfast. It was so tasty and loved how everyone wasn’t picking through everything like you would at typical hotels “free breakfast.” We really enjoyed our stay, as this hotel is conveniently located close to everything. We did not drive at all, only walked. It is also supposed to be the most haunted hotel in Savannah and although we didn’t have any encounters of our own, we did hear about others with a local ghost tour company. Lovely hotel and interesting history. We would definitely stay here again.
Planters Inn on Reynolds Square: A Quintessential Southern Retreat
Nestled in the heart of Savannah’s Historic District, Planters Inn on Reynolds Square offers the ideal blend of modern luxury and old-world charm. This boutique hotel, housed in a lovingly restored 19th-century building, features beautifully appointed rooms with plush beds and luxurious amenities. Enjoy a romantic evening of live music and award-winning cuisine at the on-site restaurant, The Olde Pink House, or unwind with a glass of wine by the fire pit in the tranquil courtyard. Planters Inn on Reynolds Square is the perfect destination for couples seeking to experience the magic of Savannah.
We stayed at Planter Inn for 4 nights during our wedding weekend. We arrived Wednesday and were staying until Sunday, getting married on Friday. Thursday evening we returned to our room to a bottle of wine and wine glasses with a note offering their congratulations. The location is perfect to get to everything in the historic district while still being in a quieter spot. We did park ourselves because valet is expensive but we had no trouble finding parking as there are two garages. The front desk staff and door staff were phenomenal and helped with all of our needs. Giving 4 stars for the room category because the air is either freezing cold or you have to turn it off- no in between. The AC was broken for about 6 hours but they fixed it fairly quickly. We would absolutely stay here again.
Location is amazing (safe, walk to everything) rooms are good, nice staff. However the walls are paper thin, I didn't get a good night sleep. Cleaners also don't come to your room, not even to replenish coffee supplies (I'll note I didn't ask).
Reviews vary widely but we had a great experience. I opted for a room with view of the square. Very cool. Had a fridge but no nuker. Should ask if you need on e or both. Location terrific for walking. Valet parking available or paid in nearby structures. Very quiet at night.
The rooms were small and clean, but the bathrooms need a lot of work. The bathroom exhaust barely worked, the shower floor had dark spots on the edges, maybe mildew or just in need of deep clean. The ceiling in the bathroom had brown spots on it and the door was dirty. The AC was COLD, but if you moved the thermostat knob even 1/8 inchup, it stopped working… good thing my wife and i like it cold. The staff was somewhat helpful, but seemed bothered when we asked for a roll of toilet paper and gave very little inf when asked a question. Oh, and the hallway had a big white stain, hopefully bleach. We didn’t use the valet, but he was probably the most helpful… kuddos to him!The location was what earned the stars for this review. We walked EVERYWHERE while staying here. Just a few blocks to the market, Bull Street, excellent dining and River Street.
The best thing about this hotel is the location. It’s top notch in that regard. That’s mainly what the stars are for. There are so many nice things within walking distance in the historic district. However, everything thing else needed some major work. It looks great in the photos and I think the overall vibe has potential but the actual execution was not good. There were a ton of random furniture pieces in the lobby, making the are feel cramped and dirty. Typical hotel amenities like a water, coffee and tea bar didn’t really exist here. (Our visit was in Dec 2022 so COVID was not as much of an issue). The rooms, hallways and elevators were all so dusty and musty smelling. I understand that this is an old property but I still expect cleaning standards to be up to par, especially considering the price we paid for a standard room. Showers were moldy and there were pieces of other guests belongings in the room when we entered (some clothing). Really I cannot stress enough how dirty and musty the entire hotel was.The staff was neither great nor terrible, so I don’t really have much to say about this aspect. I’m fine with service we received. Could it have been better? Definitely. Was anyone rude or unhelpful? No. There was mainly just a lethargic feeling in the lobby.I really wanted to like this hotel because the pictures looked so nice and it had other nice reviews but I don’t know what happened between those reviews and when we went. If it could receive a thorough deep cleaning (at the minimum) and some carpet removal (in an ideal world) my review would go up to 4 stars. That last star could be achieved by the service and amenities offered.
Probably the worst night of sleep I’ve had in a long time. There’s a large gap between the curtains and the wall, so there’s no way to stop light from parking garage next door. You better keep the curtains closed the whole time because parking garage has a clear view into the rooms. It’s so close.Noise level was also incredibly high. Bathroom was not clean. We were hoping for a historic feel, not a motel…
Great hotel!! But even greater Valet guy! Mr. Harry is the absolute BEST there is! He is so gracious and willing to help in any way he can! Hotel staff was gracious and made our stay In Savannah even better! Way to go Planters! And if you are visiting the Savannah locations do not hesitate to book here. And hopefully you will get greeted like we did!
I was supposed to be in a parkview room but my reservation got messed up, then I had to ask to move because the bathroom of the room I was put in was dirty, complete with hair all over the floor. Once I finally got settled (with a lovely view of the parking garage), I enjoyed my stay. Staff is friendly and helpful, the location is within walking distance of a lot that I wanted to see and do, the inn itself is lovely.
Location is great, staff was nice enough, I however think some things may have changed since previous reviews. The staff did their job but not much more, seemed bare minimum to help guests. The Mezzanine was completely full of extra beds and random furniture, not stocked with any drinks, or snacks even for purchase. No notification upon arrival of when the lobby events would be, such as the wine and cheese or the cookies or piano playing etc. Location was great, and one staff member was really great. Room was dusty, under the bed was very dirty I dropped something and found a previous guests toenail clippers and garbage. Not the worst by any means but for the price, and advertisement I had higher expectations. Again location was great and that's what the stars are for.
This is a nice hotel from which to base a stay in the Savannah historic area. The staff at the door, desk and valet were all friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a historic building, so there are minor limitations (like outlets), but these are worth it for the atmosphere. The bathrooms are nice and up-to-date. The location is perfect for exploring town. Right on Reynold's Square, and a short walk to almost anything. Right next door to the Olde Pink House restaurant too. Give this Inn a try.
Bellwether House: A Romantic Sanctuary in the Heart of the City

As the sun sets, retreat to your private sanctuary at the Bellwether House, where the enchanting ambiance and exceptional service will make you fall in love all over again.
We stayed in room 4 with the balcony and it was amazing. The place is really clean and we enjoyed the complimentary tea time, breakfast, and night time snack. During our stay we were able to walk to Forsyth park which was about a 5-6 minutes walk and we were able to walk downtown to Savannah’s shopping and eating area which took about 12 minutes to walk. The service we received from the ladies was excellent. We are local to the area but staying at Bellwether was an amazing experience and worth the time
The staff at Bellwether were unparalleled. The service was some of the best we've ever received. The food was stellar, the inn is so well appointed and gorgeous. They've thought of everything. The ability to text the staff was helpful and they were super responsive. 10/10, 5 stars, we loved it. Pro tip, order Olivia's espresso martini. She knocks it out of the park.
The staff is excellent, they go out of the way to make your stay exceptional. Breakfast is made to order, afternoon tea is always a real treat and the champagne presentation is fun and delicious. They also make fresh cookies as an evening snack. If an evening by the fire is something you would enjoy, they have a couple of fireplaces on the patio that they are always happy to light for you. It is within walking distance to the beautiful Forsyth park. You can’t go wrong by choosing to stay here for your vacation!
Amazing place to stay! Matt went up & beyond for us. The breakfast was delicious, afternoon tea & treats were tasty & the champagne toast each night was a fun way to meet the other guest! Highly recommend staying here!
Bellwether exceeded all expectations. It was so charming and beautiful. The guest spaces like the courtyard were beautiful and so nice to sit outside with a cup of tea or glass of champagne. The tiny bar is so cute, and we appreciated someone on staff was always available to make us any tea or drink we needed. We loved getting breakfast every morning, high tea, and the champagne saber. The location is perfect, on a quiet beautiful tree-lined street right by Forsyth Park. We enjoyed walking to dinner, and didn't have trouble finding street parking. The bedding and bathrooms were incredible. We will definitely be back!
The Bellwether House was the most amazing travel experience we’ve had. Victoria and the rest of the staff were so attentive, and the complimentary tea time and breakfast were incredible. We even got to join other guests for a champagne toast in the courtyard to ring in the evening, which was one of our favorite parts of our weekend away. Along with the house itself, our room was comfortable and stylish. Parking was easy and the staff even offers complimentary valet service. So much detail and attention goes into making everything perfect at the Bellwether and that was so apparent for the guests. We’re already thinking of when we’d like to come back!
A truly delightful experience. Quiet upscale location. Uniquely positioned as a B&B/luxury hotel. Fabulous breakfast choices served hot and flavorful. Staff was pleasant and extremely attentive, which helped make our stay so memorable. Spa services were professional and so competently executed, leaving us completely relaxed. Everything we needed or wanted to do was within walking distance. The Bellwether is our favorite place to stay away from home in Savannah! ??
We travel often and this has been our favourite place we have stayed. Everything about it is exceptional. The staff are incredibly welcoming and accommodating. The brunch would rival any restaurant and we loved how creative the menu was. The room was charming and incredibly comfortable. As many mention you simply can’t say enough about this place. I would go back to Savannah just to stay here.
Perfect location in one of the most beautiful street of savannah. We loved the porch to sit and relax. The food and beverages were excellent, very creative. The service was also amazing. The staff was available to answer any request, but at the same time left us some space. The bath was also very nice and relaxing. The rooms are.charming and we'll appointed. We liked that this was a more modern, boutique, health conscious experience rather than the very traditional offerings of other places
From the staff to the sheets on the bed, every single thing at the Bellwether house was exceptional. the brunch was something that you would pay top dollar for at a nice restaurant. I LOVED all the coffees and teas you could get at ANYTIME...one of the gals even gave me an espresso to go as I left! We sat and chatted with the women that were the night staff; so sweet and welcoming! the room was just lovely and the bed was incredibly comfortable... the sheets were amazing. They even had facial cleanser and I also appreciate it when there are no travel size items, just full size... I love seeing hotels do their part to cut down on plastic. The little gift of dried sage was lovely. Oh and the texting to communicate with staff was right up my millennial alley! Bellwether house is well designed, well thought out and perfectly executed! Thank you for creating such a lovely retreat for your guests!
This luxury accommodation completely exceeded my expectations. Once you arrive, the staff make it so that you can truly relax and unwind... evening treats delivered to the door, champagne toasts included with your stay each night at 6 pm (just because!), a full breakfast included each morning with your stay, and complimentary valet parking. What more could you need? Our room was just amazing - historic and charming (distressed brick walls! fireplace!) yet sleek and modern (gorgeous green tiling in the bathroom, claw foot tub, YouTube TV, comfy bed). They really do go above and beyond to anticipate your needs... products in the bathroom (including face wash, which is a great touch because I always forget mine), coffee/tea any time of day, 24/7 availability of staff by text.Thank you for making our stay INCREDIBLE. The Bellwether House is an experience unlike any other I've had and they go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. This is now our go-to place to stay in Savannah and we are already planning a return trip.
I really cannot say enough good things about my stay at Bellwether. Victoria was incredibly warm and welcoming when we first arrived so we were immediately off to a good start. Michael checked us in and was very kind and knowledgeable about the Savannah area. The rooms are clean, beautiful and they have the softest sheets ever. The bathrooms are spacious and have huge showers. Our room even had access to a beautiful upstairs balcony. The champagne toast is a very fun experience and Michael and Gabby made an excellent team. All of the staff was impressive with their knowledge of the delicious foods, coffees, and alcohols served. Honestly I think the staff are really what completes the experience. Everyone was so kind and made the atmosphere a very happy and peaceful one. I will absolutely stay here again if I vacation in Savannah in the future.
My husband and I had the most amazing staycation at the Bellwether House! We stayed in Room 4 with our own private patio. We have stayed many places in Savannah and this is easily the absolute best! We enjoyed trying the amazing coffees and teas offered and made sure not to miss out on breakfast and tea time. We decided to cancel our dinner reservation and instead picked up food to go so we could sit in the courtyard with drinks by the fire. Thank you Victoria and the rest of the staff for helping us enjoy a weekend away! We didn’t want to leave and will be back!
My boyfriend and I stumbled upon the Bellwether by coincidence during our road trip from Miami- Boston. We arrived at 10pm and Brooks was so accommodating, offering a suggestion for where to park our 20” truck and where to get late night sandwiches. The service was the epitome of hospitality— oozing with southern charm and make- you-feel-at-home vibes. The linens and room spared no expense and the accommodations were worth the splurge. The architecture and history of the house was charming and well-done. Breakfast was a 10/10 with unique items made in house. We enjoyed our conversation and coffee with Peter, who was quick to offer Savannah’s best kept secrets. The olive trees in the patio blew us away! I’d love an excuse to throw a party in the great room or on the patio. What a treat! I wish we could stay longer! Until next time!
My husband and I got away to the Bellwether House following our wedding. We chose Bellwether based on the great reviews, the unique amenities, and the modern touches that made this location stand out from the others in Savannah. Our experience blew us away! The best part of our stay was the incredible staff. We were lucky to experience Matt's assistance, as he helped us with our bags, and served us afternoon tea, breakfast and delicious, unique drinks that he made. Matt's friendliness and hospitality made us feel right at home. We were also able to chat with the extremely talented executive chef, who was welcoming and kind. From booking, right through out stay, the staff at Bellwether was really what made this experience stand out. The service was exceptional. As if the service is not reason enough to stay at Bellwether, the other elements of our stay were spot on, perfect! A luxurious shower, high tech room amenities, WARM COOKIES brought to our room in the evening, complimentary champagne, amazing tea and coffee beverages....we could go on and on about this place. The afternoon tea service was incredible, with fresh baked goods, and the Indian-inspired breakfast was to die for!!!We stayed in Room 9, which was perfect for two people and very quiet, as it is on the top floor. We really can't say enough good things about this place. From start to finish, it was the perfect experience. We WILL be back!
