Incredible resort that has gone through many renovations over the years and only doing better and better. Each time. Has been in Paradise valley since 1959 and I have stayed here many times throughout the years. One of the most relaxed luxury resorts in the valley
Visited for dinner only at Hearth 61. Fantastic food and wine list, and the service was outstanding! Quality vegan food options as well, including dessert. Enjoyed dinner on the patio, gorgeous views of Camelback. The atmosphere was perfect, relaxed yet classy. Love the more modern take on mid-century style, in keeping with the property history.
Absolutely best place to stay in Scottsdale. We checked out several of the larger hotels and found them to be pretty but too many people and the service was slow.Shadow mountain has outstanding service. You can tell the staff love their jobs and very attentive to your needs. The food is absolutely delicious with plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options. Also recommend the espresso martini. The pool is so beautiful with plenty of seating, don’t skip breakfast because the view from the restaurant is amazing. We will stay again!
We recently spent a week at Mountain Shadows. The resort was very nice and well kept. All staff were extremely pleasant and helpful when we needed anything. We had several meals at Hearth 61 and found the quality excellent and the prices reasonable.
I have done a few weddings/corporate events here (playing violin) and I absolutely love performing here. The views are breathtaking, the food is AMAZING and the staff/AV team is so great. Love the vibes here! Always excited when I land a gig here and can’t wait for more!!
I don’t usually do REVIEWS but I’m so in love with this place. I can’t help it. I had a great stay at the mountains shadows resort the service its amazing. We got there and got check in so quick. The first room we got was facing the mountain ?️ but I really came for the pool and mountains view definitely. My boyfriend went to the lobby and ask if we can be change to another room that has pool/mountain views together. They say yes without a problem and gave us a beautiful 2 bedroom queens. The services by the ppl is exceptional. ?? everyone in this hotel were so nice I’m always will be grateful for this experience l! 10000% recommend
This resort is absolutely stunning! ❤️? From the moment I walked in I was greeted and taken care of immediately. Stephen at the front desk is amazing! Thank you for the Premium room and 1 pm check out! I will definitely come back. I’m so thankful for this beautiful experience. 5 stars ✨ and above and beyond!
Lovely resort with stunning views of the mountains! Let's start with Alexis at the front desk that was so kind and showed us different room options so we could upgrade to the one we really wanted with no surprise! As a result we absolutely loved our garden room with views on the golf course and would have loved to stay longer. Service at the pool was excellent, same with the bar and restaurant, staff is nice and truly cares about you having a great experience. They also have EV/Tesla charging stations in the parking. I would recommend Mountain Shadows to anyone who wants to have a relaxing time 15 minutes driving from Scottsdale. We will come back with my wife if we are in the area.
I stayed at Mountain Shadows for a weekend in March. This hotel was well worth every cent I paid and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Arizona. I will go out of my way just to make it back here on my next visit. The room was spacious with vaulted ceilings and a fantastic view. The layout was superb - everything was laid out as i would do at home. I found it a bit odd for the shower placement, but i realized that the room could be partitioned easily and i rather enjoyed this feature. The place was kept clean to the highest standards, even in the common areas. Check in was amazing with a front desk that was warm and welcoming; checkout was a breeze from the comfort of my room. The bar at Mountain Shadows was one of the best hotel bars i have been to. The bartenders were so attentive and welcoming, that i decided to go a second night in a row. Although many people were here, as there was an event, the bartenders instantly recognized me and remembered my drink of choice. The drinks were top notch (best i had in Arizona); the food was amazing (had the burger and fries two nights in a row). The live music was also a treat - two different vibes on separate nights, but it added to the experience. When going out to eat or drink, you are usually paying for the ambiance, and I would definitely say it was well worth it.
Not much to complain about here, we had a pleasant stay. There's a nice pool and the food is decent. There's a nice selection of beer and whiskey at the bar. Service is a little slow all around, but friendly. I didn't golf, but I know that's an attraction there. It was a kid friendly place as well. Shower is somewhat weird for privacy concerns (hope you trust everyone in your room), but spacious and nice inside. Clean rooms and facilities.
Booked last minute. The man at the front desk, I believe his name was Jude, was really friendly and awesome to deal with. The place was definitely nice, clean and no real complaints there… but if this is how Jude is everyday then that guy deserves a raise!
Staff was amazing, great room with balcony, nice pool with close proximity to restaurants and shopping. Very close to Old Town Scottsdale. Only downside is having to pay for parking
The room was not at all clean, there was literal dirt coming out of one of the chairs, random sticky spots over the tables, the sink isn’t even in the bathroom, and when you tried to sleep, all of the partying outside past midnight would prevent that. Parking is 10$ a night and they don’t say that beforehand. Overall, I would not suggest you stay here, especially if you want to sleep.
I stayed for business at the beginning of February, and the hotel ended up charging me an extra night. I have been trying to get a refund for over a week with no success.Very dissatisfied with the customer service after my stay
First they charge you to park which, they don't tell you ahead of time, there are nightclubs everywhere so it is extra noisy, finally if you want a late check out the want to charge you 20.00 an hour. NOT customer friendly at all!!!!!
Dear Clark was amazing, breakfast attendant very nice . Amazing, keep eyes on everyone who didn’t come for breakfast and called the room for breakfast. Room was nice clean and comfy. Great place to stay
Rooms were amazing, super clean. staff were phenomenal and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was unreal. Recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.
May 29th, the empleyee serving breakfast did not want to serve us breakfast not before she asked us at what room are we staying, obviously we are being racially profile by the employee because we were speaking spanish.Btw, there is too much noise outside at night.
Check in was easy, staff was welcoming. Parking was a little odd but worked well. The room was nice, I was surprised at how nice it was. Very clean and modern. Definitely will stY here again and recommend the hotel to family and friends. Breakfast was nice. You walk up and request the items you want, very nice versus a traditional breakfast bar. One thing I didn't expect was the $10 per night parking- ugh, better than $15 and up as with some hotels.
Great location if you're into the party scene otherwise I would probably steer clear. Loud with the booming bass from the nearby clubs and the cars cruising by. If you plan to sleep I recommend a sound machine if you're a light sleeper.
This hotel has a great staff but doesn't offer much for any services, but we stayed for an inexpensive few days break before heading to two far more expensive locations in AZ to hike. For the price, it worked well. The hotel is in a serious need of updating but we aren't too picky but if you are you will be disappointed. The pool is so clean, but the chairs around the pool are brutal to try and relax in, buy a floaty at Walmart for $8, and you will be just fine.
It's clear to me that whoever owns this hotel is not use the same equipment that's in the hotel rooms I know the owners actually live on site. But when you have to use your key card three times to get into your hotel room, bed was very uncomfortable. The volume on the TV wouldn't work unless I sat on the edge of the bed. Coffee creamer just lumps up and sits on top like curdled milk in your coffee. And if you're going to provide a coffee pot you should probably place it where there's an outlet. Not a fan of this location. It is however walking distance to all the clubs so maybe most of their clientele just do not care. The staff here were very polite but the owners could definitely pay attention to some of the details.
Had a great experience. The room was clean and the jacuzzi tub was amazing. The staff was polite and went above and beyond. I will for sure go back again.
Room are tiny over stuffed with furniture. The air vents heat/cool had a layer of crud on them. The front door had large gap at base of it, air and noise from Camelback Rd, extremely busy and major construction.Want to charge for parking, when ask how to get to the parking was told go to street that’s says closed drive thru the dirt field to get to parking. This hotel I would rate as a “Motel 6” grade yet they want “Court Yard or Spring Hill Suites” pricing.I had planned 3 nites, moved after 1 nite and relocated to Spring Hills Marriott for less money. The staff were nice and friendly, and doing there best with what they have to work with.Note: I travel for business and stay at hotels 1-2 times per week for over 20 years.
I have to first say the staff at the Best western• Sun Dial, in Scottsdale has always been extremely friendly. In particular, Dino at the front desk has helped me in the past and had provided myself and family with exceptional service. This hotel is near the best attractions in Scottsdale, I highly recommend this hotel!
I love love love this hotel! I've stayed here multiple times and even when I didn't get the room I wanted, this place has been fantastic! The breakfast is actually worth getting up for with fresh, hot food and not just a prepackaged cinnamon roll or something. My only complaints would be: They don't offer dining options other than breakfast. The hot tub next to the pool needs work and the hot tub/pool area is only available until 10pm. Late night dining in the area is rather limited if you don't have a car available.
