The only reason I gave a low service rating is for the Breakfast...it was a good experience...for the rates you pay for the rooms..The Breakfast was hot...no selection of food..I've seen cheaper hotels with better Breakfast
I booked 2 rooms - one for myself and my son and one for my mother. The shower in my mother's room ran red hot in the mobility room - oh sorry no maintenance on the weekends. They did take money off the stay but still. Also, the location is really dirty. Sticky carpets, stains all over the walls, lampshades. Thick dust on the headboards. HVAC units had the bottom panel half knocked off in both rooms. Pool was fine although you had to sign out the thinnest towels I have ever seen. Hot tub NEVER got hot was like tepid bathwater. Breakfast was lukewarm and not hot either day. poor ordering - no cream cheese for bagels or yogurts...old spotty fruit. Staff was pleasant but there was an overall "sorry - nothing we can do about it" vibe. It is one of the cheaper options in the area - about 100/night and the beds seemed to be comfortable. They allow pets - so if you don't care how clean your accommodations are or don't care if you have hot breakfast and need cheap and to bring your furry friend then you're good. however I would not recommend for anything other than cheap and allows pets.
I've stayed here a few times and I'm always happy with my experience. The hotel is within walking distance of food and other things. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the staff is incredibly attentive. A top choice for comfort and convenience.
I think they need some updates. Our room door didn't lock unless you really slammed it. The air can would quit in the middle of the night and you'd wake up sweating. The side entrance card reader didn't work. On the positive, staff was friendly, breakfast was very good and shower pressure was great.
We stayed there for 3 nights while up for my daughters baby shower. Overall, it was a nice stay. Our room did have a funny smell, though. The beds were comfortable, as were the pillows, very nice bathroom, nice hot water. Yet there is no vent in the bathroom for when taking showers, etc. Love the sign in the halls about quiet hour made for a much better nights sleep. The hot tub was nice, although the bubbler was a little outta control splashing water everywhere. For a pool in WV, I definitely would have thought it would be heated. It was FREEZING! There's even a bathroom out by the pool, which was nice till it went out of order. Has a nice sit-down area outside the pool area to sit outside with a fire pit when it's running. Other than parents going to sit outside there leaving their children unattended in the pool to act like fools! Had a decent workout area, too.
Their saying is that they are the #1 in the world and they soo delivered. I cannot remember the wonderful guy who checked me in (I had a 2 night stay) but he was so amazing, up beat and infectious attitude. So has everyone else behind the counter, they have such positive infectious attitudes that to really radiated through the hotel! The snack area was okay. I mean the warm baked cookies (that were free) was really my highlight. The breakfast was good and so glad to see it back after COVID stuff. The room was amazing! Was super clean! The Aquatics Center was nice. Wish the Rain Forest shower attraction was working I really wanted to try it out! But the Hot Tub outside was working. Location was really nice almost less than a Min from the Interstate and almost an hour from Pittsburgh (ended up driving there) and like literally down the street from Oglebay. They even have a shuttle that I didn't partake in but it sounds like it would take you almost anywhere. If you need quick food Sheetz, Bob Evans (same parking lot) and Perkins is really close with Kroger a close 5 min drive away. I personally enjoyed my stay, I recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone and I personally will be back!
Best hotel stay ever! So clean!!!!!! Jack at the front desk made us feel welcomed, gave us all the information we asked for about the area. The pool area was nice, definitely check out the steam room!!!! Walking distance to a few close bars and restaurants, but also had a shuttle service.
I stayed here for a wedding and had a wonderful experience!! The rooms were nice and clean, they even came with bathrobes! My favorite part was the shuttle service, they were amazing. They drove us to and from the venue and even to the after party that was a few miles away at a different resort. I appreciated that so much as Ubers in the area were difficult to come by. Would highly recommend if you need a wedding block!
The wonderful experience started with Nancy greeting me at the front desk. She was super friendly, professional and an awesome promoter of the property. The front desk staff in general were super nice.Tucked in hill side this property is picturesque. A open seating area with a fire pit and plenty of comfortable chairs and benches. Covered by an open pergola, carefully carved into the hillside, gives a hidden grotto look. The king room was open and welcoming. The bathrooms is angular with a tri- mirror. There is a bathtub with shower, something that is disappearing in modern hotels. The aquatic center is impressive. It has a steam room, jacuzzi and hot tub. What a wonderful experience and feature. They are appropriately proud of the space.Parking is free and available in the front of the building.
We were in a pinch and called to make this reservation. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone was so kind and courteous. When we arrived, Taylor was working behind the front desk and was absolutely wonderful. We are very appreciative of his care during our stay! The room was clean, no complaints at all. The breakfast both mornings was good, offering a variety to please just about anyone. We ate outside under the awning / grilling area. Plenty of outdoor furniture and a fire pit. It's a cozy welcoming spot. The pool area was very much needed to decompress. The outdoor hot tub, jet stream function in the pool, and steam room were put to good use. The staff really made this trip! Thank you!
