Cons:-$15 parking charge (even tho it says free parking)-rooms smell musty-door had to be forced to close-no hot water had to switch rooms thru the night-uncomfortable bed imoPros:-good breakfast-good view-dog friendly
The hotel was nice with it's location being the best feature. Edited my service rating after I was able to contact the hotel and get a path to resolve it. I originally booked the wrong dates through Expedia and they said they couldn't cancel/refund my booking without hotel approval. The hotel said they couldn't cancel/refund because it was done through Expedia.I was able get in contact with Shaundee (I hope I spelled that right) at the hotel. She was helpful and understanding, but still couldn't fix it without Expedia. I was able to get an Expedia agent to give her a call and had my issue resolved. May have been a bit of a pain, but from what I saw, it seemed more of an Expedia issue than a hotel issue - nevertheless, it has been resolved. And Shaundee was great!
very good location , Atlantic railway museum , USA Old war ship , downtown , riverside walk path , Cape fear memorial bridge , lot of old churches all these locations are very close / stone throwing distance to this hotel , breakfast buffet was good /basic (compare to NYC Hyatt ) but seating option is less but u can sit outside of that cafeteria , 24 hours coffee and tea at the reception (good choices as well) for family with kids is the best place (as per my perception ) .City is very calm and people were very friendly and hospitable , almost all of our family pictures were taken by the pass byers voluntarily even we haven't asked them and even they greetings u at first sight ( it is not happening where we live in other part of USA). wall mart and target r 5 miles away but roads were empty during our visit and didn't feel it is isolated .we need to pay USD 15.00 per day for parking and plenty of parking space in-front of the property. In down town area lot of restaurants/pubs/ bars/music.worth the money and time ,we will visit here again
I stayed here month's ago, The staff was friendly nice breakfast and I loved the location however the owner needs to invest more into the up keep of the place to help them. My family room was finehowever the room I stayed in had a bug problem I understand that it's down by the water however a guest shouldn't see a wasp nest on the side of window, fly in the toilet (arrival) dead caterpillar by desk area (arrival). I chose not to eat in the room.
Awesome spot right on the river. Walkable to food and shops! They allow dogs so that's great!I will say the shower was lame! And if it weren't for the waffles the breakfast buffet would be a complete flop. But will 100% stay here again
The room was clean and the bed comfortable. If you can, request a room on the side of the hotel overlooking the river, it's a nice view. Plus, right outside the gate on the water side is a nice riverwalk and pier. The hotel even has a cat that calls it home, you can see her sitting in the lobby right in front of the door in my photos attached to this review. I definitely recommend this hotel and the staff was very friendly and welcoming! If you're a fan of Dawson's Creek (the old TV show from the 90's) you'll recognize several of the nearby buildings as belonging to the fictional town of Capeside, Massachusetts. If you're so inclined, most are an easy walk away from the hotel. Do a Google Search for a list of filming locations to make finding them easier.
Couldn’t ask for much more from a hotel. Reasonable rates, clean room, great service, a beautiful view, and a good breakfast make this best western an excellent choice. We came to town for a concert at Live Oak Pavilion and being able to easily walk a flat 1/2 mile down the river walk to and from the venue was amazing. My only ding was that there was a dead bug on the floor of our room. I didn’t see any more and didn’t think it was that big of a deal for a first floor room right by the water.
Stayed for a night. Receptionist was great over the phone and answered some of my questions. I could have reserved over the phone but didn't as I was still deciding where I was going to stay. When I got there, the room I wanted was gone! The receptionist, Antranese, was so nice. She was able to reduce the price, not only down to the more economic room but more than that. Thank you so much. The room as clean, spacious enough and with an amazing view! The breakfast has a bit of everything. Simple but enough for my one night stay. There's also a gym.The walk along the hotel is just lovely. Would stay there again.
We had to come to North Carolina unexpectedly due to a death in the family and had no reservations for a place to stay. Warren at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming and made an unsure and stressful time a lot easier.Thank you Warren and thank you Hilton. Our stay was comfortable and stress free.
This hotel is dated and does not seem to try to cover it up. The breakfast was bland at best. The room, while the beds were comfortable, left you feeling ready to leave the moment you walked in. The pool was dirty.
It's in a very pretty location and the staff is very friendly. Breakfast was yummy - nothing out of the ordinary, but the waffle machine is fun. Nice patio too. The hotel has had a few updates and renos, but you might find some relics from its older self. I wouldn't call the rooms luxurious, but there is a nice sense of privacy and the beds are comfy and the service is lovely. Recommend.
Overall, this hotel was perfect for a weekend trip to Wrightsville Beach. Would highly recommend. Only a 5 minute drive to the beach access and 25 minutes from downtown Wilmington. The suite included a great kitchen and spacious living area. However, the only complaints were as follows: 1)cleanliness of the bathroom could’ve been better (looked like a quick once-over), 2)the A/C units were dated and rather loud when the fan was running, and 3)we requested housekeeping but never received it. All of that being said, we will definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family!
I love this place! I decided to treat myself to a weekend beach getaway and wanted to stay somewhere close to the beach and close to the spa I planned to visit. This place was perfect! I decided to book a suite instead of a standard room and I'm glad I did. The suite exceeded my expectations! I was very pleased with the layout and spaciousness of it. The suite was very clean in all areas. I love the walk-in shower, the sink area between the bedroom and the bathroom, the kitchen, and the living room. It really felt like home and I enjoyed having a nice place to come to at the end of each day and relax. The customer service was great and the location is excellent! Close to the beach, close to the spa, and close to many good restaurants. All of the employees that I encountered were friendly, helpful, and professional. The breakfast was nice and the breakfast attendants were nice and accommodating as well, especially the lady who was there on Saturday morning. I could not have asked for a better stay and I will definitely stay here again if/when I'm ever in the area again.
I love the cleanliness, the lobby and entryway were lovely and elegant. Rooms were comfortable and spacious, not shabby. I would have given a 5 star if the shampoo bottles were not empty, and a coverlet had a blood stain. We asked in morning the housekeeper on our hallway if she could please change it as we left it on corner floor. It never was changed, we was there for 2 nights 3 days. But, breakfast was great, wide selection and it was great to be able to eat on patio by poolside. The pool area is very beautifully kept. Will come again and recommend.
